To keep bad things from happening just to eat an apple a day
Expensive to mine with apple product x)
Panda, this is clearly the gods of mining telling you not to go away on holiday 😆
The best thing to do is to turn everything off before going on vacation no worries and enjoy your vacation. That's what I do I don't like to worry that my house may go on fire.
Doesn't HiveOS have something to auto shutdown when temps get out of hand?
EDIT: I kept watching the video don't worry xD
Yeah the 90c restart the miner will just continue rebooting it over and over again I've had that happen before so dumb!
04:50 I think those critical temp settings reset in the big HiveOS "situation" from a few weeks ago, so it might be that you actualyl had set those rigs at decent temps for critical shutdown, but those settings got lost
Good call... I am going to check ALL my settings right now
100% I had same issue half of them got removed. (deflag and reset the settings). Had to do manually again.
@@NewEnglandCrypto definitely check. All my rigs had their settings reset. Only reason I found out was my R8s suddenly started sounding like they were trying to take flight.
Yo! That's awesome the KS3M came back to life! I had a breaker trip and my AC infinity fan shut off on my KS3M. It stopped hashing. I shut off the KS3M, unplugged it, let it sit for about 5 or or 10 minutes while I cried in the corner thinking I might have toasted it. Plugged it back in and turned it on and it worked right away. These have thermal protection built into them. Not sure why you had to power cycle it twice on yours? My garage intake and exhaust fans are T16 AC infinity attic fans and they have high quality programmable controllers. Might want to take a look at them and see if they'd work for your setup!
Love you too bro
@Red Panda Mining Ive had this happen to two of my iliving controllers. If the batteries in the remote die/or are too low, it loses its settings and the fan turns off. You have to resync remote to the controller. To sync remote. Hold power button while installing new batteries, make sure only 1 controller/fan is plugged in. Once batteries are installed release power button and wait for screen to turn on. Once screen turns on hold power button again until screen resets. Should be complete and synced.
What’s a good gpu minin case to protect gps fork dust ?
You had a backup and forgot to plug it in that sucks
Turning everything off during travel is worth every penny. No sense in worrying while away!
What a bummer! Thank goodness no one was hurt!
Glad you're back! Congrats on it being repairable!
82°C is what I use as the maximum temperature for my GPU; it's better to be safe than sorry. Additionally, I have WiFi thermometers that control plugs and add fans. They will shut down some miners when the ambient temperature rises above 110°F and when my electricity rates are higher between 5-8 PM. WiFi breakers and plugs help a lot in automating mining
the problem is not the mining hardware, is only the user ^^ WHY DONT USE SECURITY FEATURES FROM HIVE OS ?
you should have some more fans installed on thermostat plugs so if one brakes you have a fail safe, proberly only cost 100 for set up. You may of lost more than that from them being down also any brakes your out of pocket big time, if i had your set up I would go over the top on fans
Panda, I am so sorry to hear this happened to you. I hope the outcome turns out it was not too bad. Good Luck Buddy!!
it always happens when you leave. happy to see everything's back up.
It is good to have more than 1 exhaust fans. If one break down, the other one is still running. I have 4 AC Infinity exhaust fans using electricity from 2 different breakers.
I sent you a message in mod chat. The ac Infiniti shutter fan series should fit next to that other fan just fine...you could run 2 diff ones on 2 diff circuits as a backup.
👍
I'm glad the heat damage wasn't too bad for you buddy keep them hashing away 🤙👍
wow octominer is loud like asic
I had this happen a few times with those controllers and replacing the controller batteries seemed to do the trick. I ended up replacing them with a manual temp dial controllers to avoid the wireless controller setup.
Quick, everyone grab as many coins as you can while his rigs are off! 😂😂
AFter all of this mining are you break even for +?
So glad you didn't lose anything...
and glad to have you back on the mainland!
I would recommend switched PDU's so you can remotely power cycle anything plugged into them. You can get 120V ones for any fans or other 120V devices. I have my modem, router & AP on a battery backup. I have about 11 hours of internet if the power goes out.
Sounds like its a 'Not Living Controller'
I use a remote camera to monitor my Asics ....plus the wifi switch to shut them in case of mishapp.....
This is why my exhaust fans are connected on a smart outlet connected to Home Assistant with temp sensors and alerts
im pretty sure a few of us said to check your cameras. We said this when some of your rigs were off.
Right u can put another exhaust fan, red
With most ASICs, just a power cycle will reset over temperature error but sometimes it takes awhile to start hashing after a power cycle. You could have a fan starting to fail on it. Glad almost everything came back online.
Unfortunately, this is crazy, so many miners depend on the life of just one outside fan.
At least 3 fans would be mandatory if I were to be away for a longer period of time. Two can fail, then at least one is still running.
Okay, the Hive setting was really bad, sorry.
It's good that nothing else happened, in the worst case the hut burned down.
Cheer up my friend.
Best regards
Diego
The latest roadmap update is outstanding
I’ve used those thermal plugs on the fan.. I’ve had every one fail…
CCTV to monitor remote?
lol.. In IT , it usually work when we are present..
Glad everything is working again except for those two SSD’s
For my OCD please bring that ASI to your other location and replace it with that minor sitting on the table lol
Open air / grow tents ftw. I go on vacation 0 stress!
I know everyone loves autofan for their Octominers but I’m in too hot of a climate for that. I find I have to manage my rigs individually because autofan somehow does not seem to be able to keep up depending on the algo and the cards
buy an inkbird temp controller they are wifi have an app and better settings than the iliving controller.
Those Iliving controllers work great until the power goes out….Then you have to turn them back on with the remote which is terrible if you aren’t around.
That was intense!!
Anything with an "i" at the beginning of it is bound to quit working.
Jeez why 90c? Mine set to 80 & even that scares me
The exhaust fan starting to work resurrected the KS3M.
Maybe next time don't get an iLiving controller
Panda create a check sheet for anytime you’re away from your farms.
Next time, just have backups for your back ups, simple
Man such bad luck. Old Murphy's law i guess. Best luck getting it all up.
That’s what happens all that expensive equipment and u use a cheap ass fan from wall mart lol
OMG really 80º ??? Damn poor GPUs
I’m home most of the time and sure as sh!t, when i decide to go to town, I can almost be assured that a rig will go down. My rigs will be humming along for weeks and weeks up until I leave for a couple hours 🤦🏽♂️
try to get a cat so the machines thinks someone is home 😆
What up Panda u should get AC infinity fans with the controller 69 and never worry about that problem again. Keep shinning like the King u are 🙌
Please do video about current mining status
PASSIVE INCOME means 2:36 you are never going to a vacation! It sure is passive income, making you also passive from anything else! (ha-ha)
Keep up the good work sir
My critical temp is at 70*C. Not taking any risks.
@red panda mining, not sure how to get a hold of you but if you want to get rid of that stuff I will pay the shipping and I live in the US.
The ice rivers are hit or miss when u turn them off whether intentionallyor not. I think it has more to do with the pool and miner, how they communicate. I am not 100% sure though. My ks1 is usaully good and starts right away. My ks2, it takes a good 10-50 resets with factory resets as well. Just as it breaks me and go for the sledge hammer, it starts mining again. The many emotions of mining. 😂
oh crap dude that sucks
wait, you mining aleph?
i use the mining temp controller like lolminer (tstart and tstop)
i setting my temp at 60 coz 80 is to hight me (Honestly, I'm too lazy to replace the thermal paste) and my mining room is cold so all the gpu never touch 55.
to find something strange i just see the pool and if some of my rig has lower hasrate for 6 or 24 hour then i know there must be a problem with some GPU so i remote to shutdown it (my house is far from the mining location).
btw Panda, Your GPU has repeatedly reached its hottest point and i think the lifespan is probably low whuakakakakaaaa
Wouldn't it be better to set it to stop the miner just to cool down the cards before shutting down. I think there is this option in Watch Dog
Yeah no way would i leave that on and go on vacation good way to come home to nothing
Well you can go on vacation , just have a trustworthy person check on your rigs. Lesson learned.
Glad everything is working but just set up a home assistant.
dude i swear my farm fan died yesterday
someone must be behind all of this 🧐🤔
Service bypass PDUs for added safety.
@redpandamining You can go on vacation, but turn everything Off when you do.
As you mentioned Live last week, you had no Fire Bombs either, DUDE!!
GPU mining may be dead for now but red has chia and asics and other mining eq to earn, and nodes etc. Go Red. Need to have double ever6. Like 2 exhaust fans 2 everything so if one goes down the 2nd one takes over
You could have burned down you whole house my brother 💀
You should have opened each server case and check if everything prior to power up back them online, just to be safe...
Hey Panda ,
WIFI controlled plugs will be the end of you
they cannot be trusted ,
i used to grow weed and work out of town like lots of weed (with cad permit of course ) and those plugs you can remote into are garbage , many times they have failed , the schedules it would f up alot so my lights would stay off or on depending on my internet connection as well i think alos they cannot handle alot of power they will melt
My S21?!?!?!
The screenshot of 69 tangem wallets😅
Waiting my solar pannels to buy some cheap miners
I always keep mine at 75
House sitter?
Deep breaths
Thats why you have redundancy
Click baiting is bad panda. 😆
u have a lot of burnable materials in this room - i think its not so smart
👍
Look at this guy....iLIVING Exhaust Fan Thermospeed Temperature Controller and Speed Controller, Black, ILG8SFST
amazon
I fkin HATE that... my farm might be online with no problem for months... the moment I travel it goes down.
your lucky you didnt have a fire, and the house burn down.
Have mine to shut down at 75 C lol
why do people have to make everything so complicated? just get an attic or gable fan. buy an industrial thermostat. viola problem solved. how many people have attic fans running for years.......
Shut the farm down, it is not worth it. You have to much invested brother, have peace of mind while on vacation.
Im the 270st Liker haha thats my Lucky number! I also wish u luck with evrything you do bro! i am also mining because i watched so many of ur cool videos😎 at this moment i mine with cpus and if i needed helf then i watch one of ur vids and problem solved haha
Gpu mining is now completely dead anyway
No if you have many and cheap electricity
Something has got to give eventually. Rome was not built in a day
@@greegp7400 Electricity is going up in price every year, Im not talking about the 1% that have cheap or free electricity.
I want ur ks3M
Here’s your hint to buy AC Infinity fans
My AC infinity louvered exhaust fan has failed also
@@masklessninja yes that’s great.. they fail at a much lower rate
Only takes one failure. I had to get it warrantied twice and it still occasionally decides to shutoff. I have a thermometer that alerts me when the fan fails so I can remote cycle it so it turns back on. I’ve also had AC Infinity ducts decide to just self destruct occasionally. I’ve been replacing all their crappy ducting.
@@masklessninja Yea well they’re still better than the rest.. Just because you’re salty doesn’t mean they’re garbage. I’ve had to replace a duct too but their customer service is top notch.. I also own about 9 of their fans.. Try contacting Viveosun or all those cheap bands ..
Now you know the reason why Im not leaving my house alone ever..!
First😌
I’d never do business with Tangem. Shame on you. Do some research. The like to run false, misleading ads. Look at Paul Barron network. 🤮
