You know how much a video like this is worth watching when you've experienced a surprisingly large bill (like that time your intern created multiple DB and you did not double check :p) 🙏
Haha :) I have indeed. It’s all on me for not checking beforehand. He was the one pioneering for us into AWS. No way you make an omelet without breaking eggs. Cheers
is there a way to 'disable' one or more services in case you don't get the notification in time (email, sms) and the price keeps building up uncontrollable? that way you can stop the bleeding before it gets out of hand?
hey im new to aws servers. i accidentally had 2 instances running for around 12 days straight and now my billing is 1,236USD. does this problem usaully get resolved for new users because i really cannot afford it atm, and when they mean a billing adjustment will they put my billing back to $0? a reply would be great to help reassure me because i am kind of panicking atm
@@BeABetterDev Hi ,i am also in the same situation and i reach out to aws but theh still refuse to refund me at all, any steps i should consider to waive off the bill? ty
It is true :- Please note that if you set any default payment method and if you have been billed, then your amount will be directly deducted if less than Rs. 10000(10k). It is true aws deduct amount automatically from bank account.
this is actually messed up that someone could get charged so much without proper notice, the services should be turned off automatically and not charged - this is pure scam.
Number one. Don't use AWS. But if you do you will have to babysit AWS with these alarms. AWS surprised me with a 10K bill and could care less if you challenge it.
It is so important to do this! It is very common to incur unintentional charges. Good tutorial!
It really is!

Hi Rocco, if you write to AWS support and explain your situation I'm sure they would consider voiding the charges.
