A cinematic masterpiece that has left me speechless! The time and patience one has to dedicate their life, in making a lifetime work, coupled with an unquenchable thirst to provide sheer awe and cinematic brilliance technically and emotionally, stands out at every single minute throughout the movie. Apocalyptic genres are quite easy to enact, since they require an astute understanding of how humans operate on baseline consciousness. Dramatic pacing and character introduction is given justice with sufficient screen time to develop their story arcs and finale plot. The wasteland is merciless and spares nobody. Flawless execution 10/10.
Some fun facts: 1. The script for this movie was given to Charlize Theron to help her prepare for Fury Road. It pre-dates Fury Road and Miller thought about making it first. 2. If you’ve played the Mad Max videogame from 2015, it gives a lot of background about the characters in this movie, including Chris Hemsworth’s. 3. If this movie follows the videogame lore, then Chris Hemsworth’s character is the father of the little girl that Mad Max keeps having visions of during Fury Road (Glory the Child).
it has been almost 10 years since fury road, If he really had the whole script done back then why did it take this long to finally make it? at this rate if he is trying to set up something with glory the child it will take another 10 or maybe more to tell it. By the time he finishes this at the rate he is going only the most hardcore fans will even remember fury road by the time it comes out
Yes, it has way more CGI than Fury Road, but that film took over a decade from concept to the finished product. The director is 79 years old, so he had to go this route to ensure completion. I'm just glad it got done.
@poopurpoop wow, thanks for all this info. I never believed that Fury Road was 90% real, as many claim. I know, based on the documentary, that they built all the vehicles and they were fully operational. I know the shoot itself wasn't close to 10 years, but wanting to film in such a harsh environment, combined with a higher practical effects in mind approach, made the process of getting it done stretch way beyond the vast majority of movies that would have just thrown pure CGI at it. While Furiosa does look more cartoony, I don't consider that to be a bad thing. I think and hope it will be a blast.
Waited 9 years for a new George Miller Mad Max movie to come out after Fury Road. Fury Road became my favourite action movie ever and I recommend it to everyone I get the chance to.
I saw "The Road Warrior" in 1982 with my father at a drive in theater and we both LOVED that movie! Top ten all time great! Sadly my wife passed away just days before "Fury Road" came out. My father was visiting for the funeral and we saw "Fury Road" in 3D at the Theater and it was wonderful! I went back 2 days later to see it again in 2D and that was how I recommend people watch it as the 3D effects were more distracting than cool. Can't wait to see this one in theaters. I'll have to figure out how to meet my father to see it since he moved 400 miles away.
I hope you get a chance to watch it together, but if that doesn't work out, you can try to watch it at the same time in your respective cities and call/Facetime each other immediately after. I've had to do that with loved ones who lived far away. It's not the same, obviously, but it still helps to know they're seeing the same thing as you when something epic happens onscreen. Best wishes to you.
I’ve loved the series since 1980 when as a boy of 10 or 11 years old, my sister smuggled me in in the trunk of her car the drive-in theater to see mad Max. Now many years later, I’m taking my 17-year-old daughter to see this on opening weekend on IMAX. Thank you, George Miller for making such an amazing series. I even have Mad Max on my license vanity license plate. 😎👊

It was EPIC seeing Immortan Joe in his prime, along with his other Wardens of the Wasteland. Some moments were a bit cheesy/unrealistic for my taste, but to see Dementus go to full scale war with Immortan was cool.
There was a legal dispute over a bonus between Miller and Warner that likely delayed any sequel. Also its a bit much to turnaround a sequel in a year, unless you're talking about a LOTR situation.
As a VFX artist myself, I can tell you that in this trailer alone, 80% of the fire , smoke, explosions, muzzle flashes, dust & sand visuals ( including some car shots and environments ) were simulated and rendered by a computer and not captured practically.
REMEMBER ME? 😡 The line uttered by a slightly older Furiosa in Fury Road right before she rips off Immortan Joe's ugly face from his head. That line here literally gave me chills! 😭 ❤️
@putrirezkia7616 No, she is the same Furiosa. This movie is a prequel to Fury Road. It tells the story of Furiosa from her childhood to teenage & how she was abducted from her family & how she ended up with Immortan Joe, and also how she lost her arm.
@zylo2k It is not a must, but it could be an added advantage. Because Fury Road does not really tie into this movie except this being the origin story of the Furiosa from Fury Road. I would still suggest you to catch up with Fury Road on streaming or elsewhere. Because it is just a great action movie & also so you can witness Charlize Theron's captivating performance.

Absolutely brilliant choice of song for this trailer! In a landscape where many editors simply ride the coattails of popular tracks, it's refreshing to see such a thoughtful and fitting selection. Just a few notes of "The Man Who Sold the World" and the theme instantly clicks. Major respect for this decision!
Bowie says "The Man Who Sold the World was inspired by the poem 1899 Poem Antigonish. Yesterday, upon the stair, I met a man who wasn't there! He wasn't there again today, I wish, I wish he'd go away! When I came home last night at three, The man was waiting there for me But when I looked around the hall, I couldn't see him there at all! I was 19 when Mad Max came out, when this comes out I'll be almost 64, and Cundalini still hasn't got his hand back, if Furiosa is as good as Fury Road, I'll be very happy!
I just watched them both and think the first trailer was better. You could actually tell what was happening, and they didn't push the false narrative (as much) that Furiosa was just trying to get home the whole time. The movie was really more about the 3 fortresses and the warlords and her story weaves through it...
@@DomPeriodBut David Bowie still wrote the original. Nirvana's unplugged cover wasn't even much different in terms of arrangements except tuning it down.

LoL 🤣, you're just as weak as the rest of us! 👍💖 I meant my comment in a nice way, not poking fun at you.
Happy Feet was a little different than this imo
Some fun facts:
Are you serious?! That’s effing awesomeness at its most awesomeness!
but isnt mad max the game's seperate from the canon? since it was drastically different from the 2015 movie which was suppossed to be a tie-in?
#1 and #2 are only partial truths, but overall is legit.
it has been almost 10 years since fury road, If he really had the whole script done back then why did it take this long to finally make it? at this rate if he is trying to set up something with glory the child it will take another 10 or maybe more to tell it.

Yeah, you can’t have 80 year old George Miller shooting in 105°F heat. Let the FX house give our legend a hand.
We need mad max ending waste land before he goes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve seen fury road soo much times I can’t wait
Plus, there's still obviously a bunch of cool practical stunts in it.
I agree with all of this, except Fury Road was filmed mainly in Africa. @poopurpoop

I’m sorry for your loss. Be sure to reach out to your dad and make an effort to see this together. Hope you guys enjoy.
