Pure gold given out for free.
Gold?
Wow this is great, can't believe Dave is giving this out for free. Much respect and appreciation.
This is all great, but logically powerlifters should have always known that the highest top end for their sport is to have the highest hypertrophy and then convert that bigger muscle into the fastest most explosive muscle...I am glad Dave Tate is finally addressing this, its very intellectual to think this way about training and he did a great job
This is pure gold.
How the fuck do you dislike this
should've watched this ages ago
Still watching this after 3 or 4 years. It always straightens the path back out.
my perspective on programming totally changed after i watched this . lot of great , valuable information ,this guy is just amazing . please keep conducting seminars like this .thank you for the video.
I just got the “AH HA!” moment with my conjugate training from this video. You broke this down so well and I was mentally swimming today after my first max effort day!
like the way he uses the words "fuck" and "shit" lol
i love DT..hes so friggin smart/..
he seems pretty thirsty
Thank-you for passing down what you know. Elitefts and all of your information you give out has helped me tremendously.
Listening to Dave's seminars I realised everything I had learned from others in the past 20 years was bullshit.
Great information. Thanks Dave!!!
Can somebody tell me why he didn't do close grip bench press but did close grip incline bench press?
What is the title of the article? I went and looked and can’t find anything close published in April 2014. Thanks!
Great stuff Dave! Thank you so much… so much info and made easy to understand… thx again!
This seminar was fucking eye opening.
This is pure gold
This talk is what I needed right now
Ditto
Just started using the conjugate method and this clarified a lot. Thank you, Dave!
Excellent presentation.
Smart dude. Good stuff. Love listening to more experienced guys
None of the added links are working for me? anyone else?
Very good point at 53:00, awesome presentation.
Very interesting point at 51:43!
So he's saying in order to make your big lifts go up you need to implement more bodybuilding/hypertrophy training? Since there's a difference between working the movement and working the muscle.
PRICELESS HONESTY
this sounds 100% opposite of Chad Smith's methodology of just training main lifts and very few accessory lifts if you are approaching a meet
+Average Life Joe
Dave Tate also recommending cutting down on all the accessory work when you are approaching a meet. I also think he is focus more on the accessory here because everyone focus and know how important the main movement are. But most of us forget a very impotent aspect, witch is the accessory.
robin L yea I also do a lot of assistance lifts because I don't compete and after a while only doing main lifts gets boring, same thing with oly lifts and I find doing ass. lifts like high pull in snatch really benefits your full snatch
+DimebagVision so oly lifts should not be done for increasing absolute strength(i.e. 1- 6 rep range)? should I use them as speed-power development(30- 50% of 1RM) in the 4- 8 rep range and execute the reps as fast as possible?
great stuff Dave !!!
Fuckin Gold
Wow! This has completely changed my view on training. Thanks Dave.
Anyone know the name of the article he published around this time?
Thanks for this... Never really put much thought into the 3rd and more so 4th tier of my programming.
A revelation @28:28 and then specificity just unfolds!
Such amazing information! I'll be re-evaluating my training and making the necessary adjustments!
This is great
Great advice.. it looks like its time to go back to the drawing board for me
awesome!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Where can I find the article?
Is actually in the description yo. but here's the link (cos when i clicked the one in the description it wont load for me) (Edit: its mentioned in a different comment that the link's changed) www.elitefts.com/education/supplemental-strength/
This was super coherent. Thank you man
Awesome video. Great material to chew on for a new strength trainer.
Great seminar. I'm taking a ton from this.
This was so helpful. Thank you so much Dave, for everything!
Great info Dave. Thanks for posting.
Yo Dave dude what a fantastic seminar first class man thank you much!!!👏👌👍😎
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very interesting and well presented, well worth the watch
just bloody amazing top notch content
I was somewhat confused when he said the 2 board press max was 92% of his raw bench max. wouldn't you be able to do more with the short range of motion?
Maybe when he arched his back more he got extra lat involvement, possibly? I dont really know
+Darrell A Maybe the 2 board press was without gear
Way late to the party, but maybe it's a paused variant?
He didn't say max. He said he lifted 92% (he chose to not go close to or over his max).
Less stretch reflex off the board. From the pause it’s almost like a pin press. Plus if you are weaker in that particular range rather then off the chest or lock out then it can be a harder lift regardless of the distance it needs to travel
LOL at the Crossfit comment.
Fascinating, this will change my training
thanks for the video!
Pure gold
Amazing
legend
such great stuff here
Wow!
Great video dave
1:14 Merf?
fantastic content.
Wow
Gold !
@25:33 I hate semantics🙄 If you "recorded" it and you broke it....it's a Personal Record
I would add that there is a substantial difference between beginners and advanced athletes. Beginners should focus on the "competition" lifts and use linear progression.
