fun fact: one of the first fics i ever read was omegaverse and i didn’t know it was a fanfic trope so i just thought that i had missed something in the actual canon work for literal months
About the submissive / dominant misconception: I read a really good A/B/O fic where the alpha was a very anxious, shy guy, and his alpha protective instincts actually made his anxiety worse because he was hypervigilant. And he was very unsure of himself and scared of accidentally being overly pushy with his omgea friend, which made him constantly second-guess himself. Plus he was very anxious because he knew society expected him to be a "leader" even though he wasn't a very confident person. Was great! And the story wasn't about him changing and becoming more domninant, it was about his friends convincing him that he could just be himself and didn't have to meet the tradtional standards for an alpha.
Now I wanna read a fic about an omega who just gets fucking tired of alphas doing their "I'm dominant and you should serve me" bullshit, and ends up becoming a leader by sheer moral obligation, so that their community doesn't have to tolerate jerks giving them orders.
Inside of me are two wolves. One of them really doesn't want to know any more than she already does about the Omegaverse. The other one really wants to hear Coley do an academic presentation about the Omegaverse.

As a sex repulsed ace, there are actually some really good a/b/o fics out there about that! They're an emotional rollercoaster but one of my favourite concepts and really good reads!
i've read some really good angst and hurt/comfort fics that featured ace characters!! a common theme was having their partners or friends taking care of them in a non sexual way
I once read an A/B/O fanfic that wasn't sexual at all, and it was more about the omega's family, which was primarily alpha, being there for him AS A FAMILY and making sure he was okay and safe while he went through heat. It was a Ducktales fanfiction.

@@goldenheart__ There are platonic a/b/o fics too, though they're rarer. You'll probably have more luck finding a G or T rated fic - again, not as common as M or E, but you'll find quite a few. Assuming you even want to read an a/b/o fic, of course
I'm ace but write smut for my OTPs. A/B/O has always repulsed me for reasons entirely unrelated to sex. My brain can't accept slick and mpreg especially. But the whole subculture is definitely interesting from a documentary standpoint.

My college English professor revealed to us that he knows what omegaverse is, and he explained how it is a worthwhile research topic considering how it can often reinforce toxicly masculine or heteronormative ideologies.

One of my favorite Omegaverse stories doesn't actually go nontraditional with the dynamics at all. Instead, it centers the story on a sex-repulsed asexual omega, and his struggles during wartime shortages and finding romance with society having aggressively mocked the idea that any omega could be asexual. There is a lot of crying and angst, but it has a happy ending!
I love traditional omegaverse settings as they're a great setting to criticize heteronormative relationships, the patriarchy, misogyny, sexism overall, dumb gender expectations... essentially all sex/gender related issues. And that without all disadvantaged being women and all advantaged being men. Because that sh*t is just painful to read sometimes as a woman. A/B/O let's me explore my thoughts and criticisms of these things without always having to watch women being treated like cr*p. Plus porn. What's not to like. I love my angsty porn that at the same time dives into social and political commentary. Hell yeah!
I am indigenous Australian and I wholeheartedly agree, it is still a VERY active slur that is mostly used within Australia to Elders than aboriginal descendants. It does make me and some of my indigenous friends when they don't put the slashes, I understand that a lot of people don't know and don't mean to cause harm. It's more than just a word when you consider the history. And I am more than happy to see her put that in her video.

I've actually seen quite a few ace authors write ace abo characters. It makes for a pretty good allegory for exploring the personal psychological and societal experiences of being ace in a hyper-sexualized world.
omegaverse is the biggest "f*ck around and find out" tag/au thing ever like they just give you some simple things like dynamics and some other basic things and just tell you "go wild with it"

I’m asexual but I freaking love A/B/O fics, especially ones that center defying expectations relating to secondary gender stuff. It’s…cathartic, in a way, because you can explore the theme of defying gender expectations without getting into real world gender norms which can be hard for me to read sometimes.
I think cathartic is the best way to describe the abo genre. It explores all the psychological and societal aspects of sexuality and gender in allegorical form. Things like dysphoria, shame, systemic oppression, classism, racism, trauma, privilege, the healthcare industry. It explores things like toxic masculinity. I've seen people criticize it as enforcing toxic masculinity, but thats only if you do a very literal surface level interpretation. What it's actually exploring is how we exist in a hyper sexual world, a world with toxic masculinity, and somehow have to be happy with it, or find some kind of peace, or figure out what existence is at least bearable.
A comprehensive explanation of all possible variations you could encounter in all classes, with scientific pros, cons, and when you should use "it's magic" instead.
Tips to avoid some toxic a/b/o relationship fanfics on AO3. 1. Read the tags and the summary. Do it, it will save you from getting surprised by something you did not want to read if the author is not an ass that does not tag things. 2. Use the exclude function to filter out things you do not want to read. I for example have tragedy, underage, major character death and abusive relationships permanently filtered out, along with other things that depend on what I want to read. This will help if again the author is not an ass, 3. Pay attention to the author. Their behavior, how they write things, do they tag things, etc. If an author has written a story you did not agree with and they had not tagged it properly, it is probably best to avoid them in the future than take the risk of them doing it again. 4. Use ratings if you are not interested in the characters doing the do or if you do not want them doing the do to be a big part of the story. Choosing Gen in the categories will also help you avoid characters playing with their genitals though it might make looking for romance harder. 5. Beware of the asses that don't put up trigger warnings or tag their fanfics properly.
@@jaundiceispog1017 Not really. Of course part of the fault always lies with the reader because nobody forced them to read the story. However in the case of an author that is an ass (like the one you described), I believe the majority of the fault is the authors. It's their lack of action (giving any sort of warning about the content of their story) that caused the reader to read something they would have otherwise avoided. Not sure how you came to this conclusion after reading my comment since I didn't say anything about whose fault it is. Out of curiosity what made you want to read a story that has no summary. Summaries are a mayor part of what makes me decide to read a story, so I haven't really read any that have had none. Would like to hear your thoughts on that.
The thing about knotting is that I just imagine the pair being stuck like that for a couple of hours and being bored out of their wits because neither thought to bring a book.
i once read a really beautiful A/B/O fic about an omega and an alpha. their "naughty recordings" were released and the author indulged in a long and very interesting sequence of events revolving how omegas were treated in society vs how alphas were, and about how the omega in the relationship was immediately blamed and called horrible names for it whilst the alpha was left completely alone. it was really interesting to read, honestly.
As an asexual who reads a quite frankly stupid amount of spicy stories, a/b/o is just absolutely fascinating and an interesting way to explore irl issues in a different format. You can tell a lot about an author in how they world build an a/b/o universe. One of my favorite trope inversions, only saw it once in a Voltron Shance fic that I’ve forgotten the name of but what I remember most was non-traditional a/b/o nesting in which it’s the alpha that builds the nest as a courting ritual for their omega. I also remember a non traditional a/b/o MCU fic which again can’t remember the name of in which Tony was a beta and it was a commentary about how betas are actually the most dominant of the three secondary genders because they weren’t governed by their hormones and kept the world running while the alphas and omegas were in the background basically losing their shit the whole time trying to one up each other.
I got spoiled by an omegaverse fic early in my fanfic reading career... it was a PG13 or T rated fic of a gentle, 'ladylike' female alpha being fated mates with a brash and loud male omega in a historical Victorian(I think?) setting. I kick myself OFTEN for not bookmarking that fic or even remembering it's name. I only remember that it was a Hetalia fanfic. it seriously raised my standards for omegaverse and it's been difficult to find other fics with the same niches since then.

I think one of my favorite instances of B*tching in a fic was where it was almost a transitioning situation, where the main character hated being an alpha, and after learning that b*tching was possible, he went to a close friend and asked them to do it, only for romance to blossom from that closeness. It was a really neat way to look at that aspect of omegaverse, especially for me as a trans person, it really rang true for elements of my own real life transition
Its been written! I've read plenty of ace characters (written by ace authors) struggling with their secondary sex in a number of ways. Sometimes they just don't go into heat/rut. Sometimes they do. The feelings each character has towards this aspect of their sexuality vary. Since pharmaceuticals often play a part its a common trope to have them just take medication so they don't have to go through it at all. A lot of ace authors use this trope as a way to explore the phsycological and societal aspects of being ace in a hyper sexualized world. It makes for a good allegory

i really like when omegaverse fics use the scent of petricor(the smell of nature after rain) and forests to indicate fertilitity/pregnancies. Idk, it just seems like such a fitting smell.
I'm the exact opposite. I find it off putting when people describe slick or scents as "lavender" or "rain" or anything romantic like that. It clearly tells me that this writter hasn't smelt discharge or BO before. Discharge or "slick" is musky in smell and not romantic. And BO smells tarrible. Don't get me wrong, smells can be sexy, but please don't make it smell like women's body wash. Make humans smell like humans damnit.
I think the whole "smut is horrible" stream picked up a lot of speed with the rise of RPF fiction about internet personalities? the more direct connection to the actual people behind the "celebrity" makes smut in those fandoms icky for a lot of people (not to mention that several big fandoms of that kind contain a *lot* of minors) and so there's been a general pushback against just any adult oriented content that started spreading into other fandoms as well. I personally agree, both is good - just remember your tags and warnings and all that
I agree, but... Saying "RPF fiction" would be saying "real person fiction fiction" 😭 Also, yeah. RPF is not for me personally, and tbh I find it quite icky in general. Unless the people in question are fine with being shipped, then I will never understand creating it without their consent, especially when it's adult-themed. It's so invasive and disgusting. The people who write these fics are the same ones that begged their mom to stop shipping them with the kids next door, or had to deal with their classmates shipping them with their best friend. How can they inflict that on other people, even if they're celebrities? Celebrities have to deal with sm of this type of content created about them.
And there are just other Fandoms where if you think about it too hard it can become icky. I call this the "vampire loli problem" or the "OG Phantom problem." The vampire loli problem is obvious. If they are mentally the age of consent or older, but the body is not the age of consent, so is it okay to right x rated fanfiction about that character? People have been debating that for years. The OG Phantom problem is a bit different but similar concept. To briefly explain, the original Phantom of the Opera looks like a corpse, from "head to toe." Even his hands smell of death. But is it okay to write x rated fanfiction of this character despite him looking so much like a corpse? And what about actual undead characters? Where does the line begin and end? I don't have the answer to either of these. I just know I tolerate x rated topics in fanfiction unless its gorey murder, which as a horror movie fan I enjoy. And I do realize it's paradoxical to clutch pearls at shreks but be fine with ripping people's faces off or pulling out their hearts. Idk.

A/b/o isn't necessarily one of my favorites but I do enjoy it on occasion, especially some of the less traditional fics. There's one in particular I love, it's a oneshot where big bad guy of the fandom is an omega and no one knows it. He wants to cuddle with the members of his gang (all alphas I believe) but won't let himself be 'weak'. They convince him to cuddle and find out when he accidentally lets his scent out. It's so fluffy. I love it.

personally, I like how omega verse can act as sort of a cathartic way of expressing frustration or feelings in general about gender, toxic masculinity and heteronormative mindsets through a world where the concept of whether one is boy, girl, other doesn't matter as much as another aspect of yourself. I've read a fanfic called Tryptic. I suggest it if your into non-typical A/B/O dynamics and also if you're into BTS A/B/O fanfic.

one of the best a/b/o fanfics i've ever read was a bitching fic in which the character getting bitched felt something akin to gender dysphoria at his alpha status, and asked his good alpha friend to help him out. obviously there was heaps of smut and mutual pining, but i also found it a pretty interesting exploration of gender and secondary sexes within omegaverse

Omegaverse is my guitly pleasure genre that I'm not even that guilty about 😅 I think fics can be REALLY good if you take your time to search for them. There was even a ridiculously long period in my life, when I've read only omegaverse bc it was the only one genre that I felt fascinated by. it’s so interesting hearing about A/B/O from a western perspective as someone who pretty much only consumes japanese A/B/O content and learning how different it is. Lots of details common in Western stuff are completely omitted in doujin works. For instance, I’ve never heard of the “pre-heat” thing because a critical aspect of Japanese ABO is the sudden, emergency onset of a heat that has to be “taken care of” by whoever’s closest lol. And in my experience, a lot of the more animalistic characteristics are extremely uncommon in Japanese stuff, but I guess it depends on what specific works you’re reading.
The lack of preheat thing is also present in western a/b/o works, especially older ones. It's (of course) a good device for drama and/or a good setup to drama, so plenty of authors use it still. I don't read a/b/o too much, but I think I see something like 2/3 of fics having preheat concept, and 1/3 not having it. I think western authors wanted to add some realism and also to relate heat cycles to irl human reproductive cycles, hence the concept of the preheat - human women also begin to have symptoms such as cramps, backaches, etc. in the week before their period, after all

I’ve never really liked A/B/O, but I never hated it either. I found someone on AO3 who tried to figure out the biology of it, and it was actually really a fascinating read. (Of course the title’s escaping me lol)
I’ve only read one a/b/o fanfic ever, and I’m not joking when I’m saying that it had the best social commentary I’ve ever seen (and it’s not even a real world). I hadn’t heard much about the omegaverse before, but I loved the worldbuilding in that fanfiction. Unfortunately, I had to click out when the smut started 😔
My friend was hyperfixated on the omegaverse for a while and basically knows everything about it and because of this they like to tell me about every waking moment of my life that I would be an omega if I were in the omegaverse and I have had to listen to them tell me this every day nonstop since they decided it to be true (I feel like I would be more of a beta, myself)

Yeah honestly Coley might just have to do straight up sex ed, so many people didn't get proper sex education (myself included, I hate Catholic school) and it would honestly be helpful for fanfiction writers (and readers) trying to get into smut and wanting to make it like, acutally accurate. Seriously though, while it would definitely be hard to make something RUclips doesn't demonetize (thanks a lot RUclips) it might be worthwhile.
I had some bad experiences with a/b/o fics like 10 years ago when fandom spaces used to be in a completely different state (this was, at least in my country, the era of fujoshis, intense misogyny and pushing heteronormativity into queer relationships). But this video gave me hope that things have changed for the better. Now I might even give non-traditional a/b/o a chance lol.

My understanding is that someone tried to make an AI by ripping stuff off of AO3 but omegaverse kept corrupting the output (the AI kept adding stuff from omegaverse to normal fics it was trying to make) so a massive salute to my slick brother and sisters
I know of a really deeply creepy Omegaverse trilogy[yes it deserves to be called a trilogy not just fanfiction]that dives head first into the dark aspects of the culture. Its self insert but it is still the best fanfic, maybe even story I've read, it pulls apart power dynamics and how easily outsiders could view a person being abused as lucky and just really dark without romanticizing it. And the writer has a way with words that can only be described as ink like, If purple is what we call the pretty ornate parts she writes in a shade of purple that is closer to wine spilt out all over the pages. But instead of ruining the book it only makes it smell like fruit and leaves the whole book an art piece, it's hard to read at times in the best way.

The reason why BTS is so popular with omgeaverse is because, people like the "pack idea" or polyamorous aspect. So you get alot of OT7 or ot3,4 or etc fics. Plus since they are a kpop group. There is alot of drama and tropes people could explore with that. Plus BTS history is kinda dramatic underdog story too. You can do alot with BTS. Omgeaverse BTS also have that fated mate and Y/U going on too because the obvious YAOI.

About the submissive / dominant misconception: I read a really good A/B/O fic where the alpha was a very anxious, shy guy, and his alpha protective instincts actually made his anxiety worse because he was hypervigilant. And he was very unsure of himself and scared of accidentally being overly pushy with his omgea friend, which made him constantly second-guess himself. Plus he was very anxious because he knew society expected him to be a "leader" even though he wasn't a very confident person. Was great! And the story wasn't about him changing and becoming more domninant, it was about his friends convincing him that he could just be himself and didn't have to meet the tradtional standards for an alpha.

Instead, it centers the story on a sex-repulsed asexual omega, and his struggles during wartime shortages and finding romance with society having aggressively mocked the idea that any omega could be asexual. There is a lot of crying and angst, but it has a happy ending!

I am indigenous Australian and I wholeheartedly agree, it is still a VERY active slur that is mostly used within Australia to Elders than aboriginal descendants. It does make me and some of my indigenous friends when they don't put the slashes, I understand that a lot of people don't know and don't mean to cause harm. I’m asexual but I freaking love A/B/O fics, especially ones that center defying expectations relating to secondary gender stuff. It’s…cathartic, in a way, because you can explore the theme of defying gender expectations without getting into real world gender norms which can be hard for me to read sometimes.
I think cathartic is the best way to describe the abo genre. It explores all the psychological and societal aspects of sexuality and gender in allegorical form. Things like dysphoria, shame, systemic oppression, classism, racism, trauma, privilege, the healthcare industry. It explores things like toxic masculinity. I've seen people criticize it as enforcing toxic masculinity, but thats only if you do a very literal surface level interpretation. What it's actually exploring is how we exist in a hyper sexual world, a world with toxic masculinity, and somehow have to be happy with it, or find some kind of peace, or figure out what existence is at least bearable.
Honestly, a biology guide for a/b/o sounds entertaining. I'd watch that
A comprehensive explanation of all possible variations you could encounter in all classes, with scientific pros, cons, and when you should use "it's magic" instead.

Tips to avoid some toxic a/b/o relationship fanfics on AO3.
1. Read the tags and the summary. Do it, it will save you from getting surprised by something you did not want to read if the author is not an ass that does not tag things.
2. Use the exclude function to filter out things you do not want to read. I for example have tragedy, underage, major character death and abusive relationships permanently filtered out, along with other things that depend on what I want to read. This will help if again the author is not an ass,
3. Pay attention to the author. Their behavior, how they write things, do they tag things, etc. If an author has written a story you did not agree with and they had not tagged it properly, it is probably best to avoid them in the future than take the risk of them doing it again.
4. Use ratings if you are not interested in the characters doing the do or if you do not want them doing the do to be a big part of the story. Choosing Gen in the categories will also help you avoid characters playing with their genitals though it might make looking for romance harder.
5. Beware of the asses that don't put up trigger warnings or tag their fanfics properly.
I wish authors were not asses because everytime I filter there's always 1 person that refuses to use archive warnings.

However in the case of an author that is an ass (like the one you described), I believe the majority of the fault is the authors. It's their lack of action (giving any sort of warning about the content of their story) that caused the reader to read something they would have otherwise avoided.
Not sure how you came to this conclusion after reading my comment since I didn't say anything about whose fault it is. Out of curiosity what made you want to read a story that has no summary. Summaries are a mayor part of what makes me decide to read a story, so I haven't really read any that have had none. Would like to hear your thoughts on that.

As an asexual who reads a quite frankly stupid amount of spicy stories, a/b/o is just absolutely fascinating and an interesting way to explore irl issues in a different format. You can tell a lot about an author in how they world build an a/b/o universe.
One of my favorite trope inversions, only saw it once in a Voltron Shance fic that I’ve forgotten the name of but what I remember most was non-traditional a/b/o nesting in which it’s the alpha that builds the nest as a courting ritual for their omega.
I also remember a non traditional a/b/o MCU fic which again can’t remember the name of in which Tony was a beta and it was a commentary about how betas are actually the most dominant of the three secondary genders because they weren’t governed by their hormones and kept the world running while the alphas and omegas were in the background basically losing their shit the whole time trying to one up each other.
I've also read some abo with ace characters that I found to be a great allegory for being ace in a hyper-sexual world.

Its been written! I've read plenty of ace characters (written by ace authors) struggling with their secondary sex in a number of ways. Sometimes they just don't go into heat/rut. Sometimes they do. The feelings each character has towards this aspect of their sexuality vary. Since pharmaceuticals often play a part its a common trope to have them just take medication so they don't have to go through it at all. A lot of ace authors use this trope as a way to explore the phsycological and societal aspects of being ace in a hyper sexualized world. It makes for a good allegory

I'm the exact opposite. I find it off putting when people describe slick or scents as "lavender" or "rain" or anything romantic like that. It clearly tells me that this writter hasn't smelt discharge or BO before. Discharge or "slick" is musky in smell and not romantic. And BO smells tarrible. Don't get me wrong, smells can be sexy, but please don't make it smell like women's body wash. Make humans smell like humans damnit.

I think the whole "smut is horrible" stream picked up a lot of speed with the rise of RPF fiction about internet personalities? the more direct connection to the actual people behind the "celebrity" makes smut in those fandoms icky for a lot of people (not to mention that several big fandoms of that kind contain a *lot* of minors) and so there's been a general pushback against just any adult oriented content that started spreading into other fandoms as well. I personally agree, both is good - just remember your tags and warnings and all that

Also, yeah. RPF is not for me personally, and tbh I find it quite icky in general. Unless the people in question are fine with being shipped, then I will never understand creating it without their consent, especially when it's adult-themed. It's so invasive and disgusting.
The people who write these fics are the same ones that begged their mom to stop shipping them with the kids next door, or had to deal with their classmates shipping them with their best friend. How can they inflict that on other people, even if they're celebrities? Celebrities have to deal with sm of this type of content created about them.
And there are just other Fandoms where if you think about it too hard it can become icky. I call this the "vampire loli problem" or the "OG Phantom problem."
The vampire loli problem is obvious. If they are mentally the age of consent or older, but the body is not the age of consent, so is it okay to right x rated fanfiction about that character? People have been debating that for years.
The OG Phantom problem is a bit different but similar concept. To briefly explain, the original Phantom of the Opera looks like a corpse, from "head to toe." Even his hands smell of death. But is it okay to write x rated fanfiction of this character despite him looking so much like a corpse? And what about actual undead characters? Where does the line begin and end?
I don't have the answer to either of these. I just know I tolerate x rated topics in fanfiction unless its gorey murder, which as a horror movie fan I enjoy. And I do realize it's paradoxical to clutch pearls at shreks but be fine with ripping people's faces off or pulling out their hearts. Idk.

A/b/o isn't necessarily one of my favorites but I do enjoy it on occasion, especially some of the less traditional fics.
There's one in particular I love, it's a oneshot where big bad guy of the fandom is an omega and no one knows it. He wants to cuddle with the members of his gang (all alphas I believe) but won't let himself be 'weak'. They convince him to cuddle and find out when he accidentally lets his scent out. It's so fluffy. I love it.

personally, I like how omega verse can act as sort of a cathartic way of expressing frustration or feelings in general about gender, toxic masculinity and heteronormative mindsets through a world where the concept of whether one is boy, girl, other doesn't matter as much as another aspect of yourself.
I've read a fanfic called Tryptic. I suggest it if your into non-typical A/B/O dynamics and also if you're into BTS A/B/O fanfic.

one of the best a/b/o fanfics i've ever read was a bitching fic in which the character getting bitched felt something akin to gender dysphoria at his alpha status, and asked his good alpha friend to help him out. obviously there was heaps of smut and mutual pining, but i also found it a pretty interesting exploration of gender and secondary sexes within omegaverse

Omegaverse is my guitly pleasure genre that I'm not even that guilty about 😅 I think fics can be REALLY good if you take your time to search for them. There was even a ridiculously long period in my life, when I've read only omegaverse bc it was the only one genre that I felt fascinated by. it’s so interesting hearing about A/B/O from a western perspective as someone who pretty much only consumes japanese A/B/O content and learning how different it is. Lots of details common in Western stuff are completely omitted in doujin works. For instance, I’ve never heard of the “pre-heat” thing because a critical aspect of Japanese ABO is the sudden, emergency onset of a heat that has to be “taken care of” by whoever’s closest lol. And in my experience, a lot of the more animalistic characteristics are extremely uncommon in Japanese stuff, but I guess it depends on what specific works you’re reading.
Context too long to explain, but this was a helpful note.
The lack of preheat thing is also present in western a/b/o works, especially older ones. It's (of course) a good device for drama and/or a good setup to drama, so plenty of authors use it still. I don't read a/b/o too much, but I think I see something like 2/3 of fics having preheat concept, and 1/3 not having it.
I think western authors wanted to add some realism and also to relate heat cycles to irl human reproductive cycles, hence the concept of the preheat - human women also begin to have symptoms such as cramps, backaches, etc. in the week before their period, after all

The short answer is it's based on a not that poplar scifi show from the 90s or so, but for as codified as it is most of the concept, world building, and rules came for fandom vs the actual show
I just really want a guide that includes Delta, Sigma and Gamma dynamics to almost surgical detail....

Yeah honestly Coley might just have to do straight up sex ed, so many people didn't get proper sex education (myself included, I hate Catholic school) and it would honestly be helpful for fanfiction writers (and readers) trying to get into smut and wanting to make it like, acutally accurate.

I had some bad experiences with a/b/o fics like 10 years ago when fandom spaces used to be in a completely different state (this was, at least in my country, the era of fujoshis, intense misogyny and pushing heteronormativity into queer relationships). But this video gave me hope that things have changed for the better. Now I might even give non-traditional a/b/o a chance lol.

My understanding is that someone tried to make an AI by ripping stuff off of AO3 but omegaverse kept corrupting the output (the AI kept adding stuff from omegaverse to normal fics it was trying to make) so a massive salute to my slick brother and sisters
I know of a really deeply creepy Omegaverse trilogy[yes it deserves to be called a trilogy not just fanfiction]that dives head first into the dark aspects of the culture. Its self insert but it is still the best fanfic, maybe even story I've read, it pulls apart power dynamics and how easily outsiders could view a person being abused as lucky and just really dark without romanticizing it.
And the writer has a way with words that can only be described as ink like, If purple is what we call the pretty ornate parts she writes in a shade of purple that is closer to wine spilt out all over the pages. But instead of ruining the book it only makes it smell like fruit and leaves the whole book an art piece, it's hard to read at times in the best way.

The reason why BTS is so popular with omgeaverse is because, people like the "pack idea" or polyamorous aspect. So you get alot of OT7 or ot3,4 or etc fics.
Plus since they are a kpop group. There is alot of drama and tropes people could explore with that. Plus BTS history is kinda dramatic underdog story too. You can do alot with BTS. Omgeaverse BTS also have that fated mate and Y/U going on too because the obvious YAOI.
