@@HeartCloud Agreed. Scoop was handled so poorly in that excuse of a episode. But this episode portrays Scoop much better. A kind, caring brother figure towards Lofty, and that's so heartwarming to see.
I remember watching this not only in the UK dub, but in the US dub as well. And that heartbreaking scene where Lofty started crying, it broke my heart. Aside from that, Spud DID go a bit far where he teased the crane about his fear of heights and mice (cough cough, Tutter, Jerry), but I AM glad he apologized in the end. Great review overall on a timeless classic.👍
Honestly, Lofty doesn't deserve the teasing from Spud, but i am glad that Scoop defends Lofty from Spud's tricks. But honestly I feel bad for the blue crane, because Lofty is afraid of heights and mice, I sure wish you can give him a hug.
i did not know lofty has autism i thought he was one of a kind but all there's years he is has autism. and i have the same fear i am scared of heights as well but all so good review Madison keep on the bob the builder videos!
Thanks Oliver! Whenever I watch Lofty, I just see his moments and personality really relatable and could be the character to represent autism. But, that's how I personally feel about it.
My dad always hated spud, he kept Waiting for him to die, he wanted bob and his team to kill him, i think spud is still in character because he thinks all his tricks are funny no matter how hard they are.
I recently rediscovered this show, and turns out I love it, even as a full grown man. It's so heartwarming and easy to chill out and just enjoy the characters and animation. Really helps ne to relax from things like college. I am freaked out by how SCARY accurate Lofty's character is to me! For example: I was severely timid, had no friends, and felt useless until just over a year ago I began to overcome my fears. When Lofty cried in the shed, i saw myself. I have questioned my own worth exactly like that. It is amazing to see that kind of representation in a show like this, and it makes our struggles feel more tangible and able to be overcome. A validation that we are not alone, our situation is not an outlier and we can overcome it. Characters like this can be a uniting point between people that suffer from things like social anxiety. Honestly I cant name any other characters that portray us any better, but also shining a light on the issues. Lofty is also freaking adorable.
Lofty is one of those characters who you'd just wanna give a hug. He's insecure and often pessimistic, but overall, is a sweet, kind-hearted soul who's terrified of messing up. God help me. I love that crane! 🥹🥹🥹
I love this episode! I really feel for Lofty here. The scene where he starts crying is just heartbreaking. But I'm glad that he overcame his fear to rescue Spud. Now, while I absolutely love Spud (And he is my all-time favourite character of Bob the Builder), I will admit that he did go a little too far. However, that doesn't spoil my views on him and I love the scene at the end where he and Lofty made amends.
@@ultranm8fanproductionsllc.817, Sumsy could've been interesting if she wasn't a replacement of a character of the same type of machine that already existed in Trix. I want to like Sumsy, but being a recolor of Trix just doesn't make her stand out a whole lot.
What a wonderful review. The first time I saw this episode was when it first aired on TV. But I had it on record, because when I was riding home from school. I thought it was a great episode. Lofty was having doubts about himself after the way Spud teased him. Everyone has doubts about themselves, and this episode helped to show that very well. Spud did get his comeuppance which landed him in trouble. I'm pleased Lofty got redeem himself at the end, and the whole team were really supportive of him throughout the rescue. This was the first time we heard the sad theme as Lofty was making his way home. It brought tears to my eyes when I first heard it, because it was so sad. Seeing Lofty cry made me cry, because I felt sorry for him.
What a great review to watch on my birthday. I can relate to Lofty in some ways because I tend to worry and be cautious over certain things. I may not always show it in my face, but I will say if I'm having concerns with whatever I or someone else is doing. I can say that I have gotten better this year overcoming some things that I probably wouldn't have a few years ago, but I do still choose to take some things with caution. Better to be safe than sorry as I like to say 17% of the time. Also looking back on this episode makes me wonder how this story would work if Lofty's face was still positioned on his crane arm. Wouldn't that be something. I dunno if that would be considered ironic or not.
Thank you very much for enjoying the review, Sammy! Oh, and Happy Birthday!! Maybe the whole Lofty having his face on where his hook is could make even more sense, but I'm not sure if that would still remain to be iconic if the show stuck with the concept designs.

Honestly, at 1:40, I thought you were gonna say the disgrace part to Roley’s Rover or Roley brings the House. But still, great video. And I always adore Lofty’s character from the OG series, (Project Build it and whether you agree with me or not, the good moments and Ready steady Build.) Shame he was flanderized in the reboot.
I did do a video covering those two episodes and I say they are just very average at best. One is enjoyed by how ironically stupid it was. While the other has a decent idea, but the writer squandered the episode in terms of education. I'll be saving my frustration on That episode when I eventually review it. Btw, thank you for enjoying the review!
Great review Maddie! I love this! ^^ Honestly, this episode is THE best Lofty episode of the whole series! ^^ I had no idea Lofty is autistic. I too had fear of heights years ago. Even though I managed to get over it, but other disadvantages I have from autism is still not easy for me to get over. For example: I get angry very easily when some things don't go my way, even though I'm trying to control it. Lofty's just so wholesomely relatable, that I really wanna hug the blue boy too! 🥺💙 Well done on the review Maddie! :D
