WHY CPC increases with max conversions

Should you switch to Max Conversions or just remain on your Max CPC campaign?
A quick dive in the world of linkedin or reddit and you will very quickly see that a common complaint that people have is that when they switch to Max Conversions that they see an increase in CPC.

Also, focus on cost per conversion/CPA vs CPC. Google will focus on converting audiences which have a higher CPC vs low quality-->max clicks

Hi. I inherited a google ads account where all of the conversions were set up for page views. I changed the account to count form fills as conversions instead, but now I am struggling to get any conversions. Now I feel like all of the conversion data is wrong, so I am using max clicks. Should I switch back to maximize conversions because I am trying to get leads?

Use max clicks with the new conversions settings in place until you start getting conversions. After you receive conversions at a consistent price point your comfortable with, you can then switch to max conversions using that price point as a Target CPA cap.

@@Mike_Speeds Thanks Mike. If I am struggling to get any conversions, should I try a conversion action based on a key website page view, like a contact us page? Right now, my conversion actions are a gated PDf download and a contact form fill out. Struggling to get either one at the moment, but I just implemented a better landing page last night. So that might help.

@@AndrewScarella With out a doubt! Your landing page and offer are the most important elements of the entire system! Even a poorly designed Google ads account will still receive some conversions if your offer is enticing and your page is proper. Biggest thing with Google is that it takes time to organize your ads vs the others in the same space. It feels like 99% of account owners cut off their accounts too early when things aren't working instantly. Patience is the key here.

Hi, I inherited a google ads account that was recently set to max conversions with a max CPA prior. I've done a lot of keyword and Ad Copy cleanup, and wondering if I should switch away from the Max Conversions to allow Google Ads to re-learn the campaigns before setting a Max CPA. I feel like the current Max CPA in place is limiting the new keyword strategy, but I could be wrong.
Should I revert to Max clicks for the new Keywords and Ad Copy and then figure out a new Max CPA bidding, or leave it as the current Max CPA strategy?

Better to revert to maxmise clicks to get conversion data on new keywords before you switch to conversion based strategy.

Aaron, your content is amazing! Hands down solid 🪨 (yes, that's a rock).
Is it possible to do a walkthrough of what playlist of videos someone that is new to Google Ads should watch from your channel to get started? Or maybe what needs to be done to get started and then what to watch from your videos?
I'm asking because you have hours upon hours of content and it's just not feasible to go through everything. There has to be something else.
It's okay if you don't have an answer. I can always do the Google course, but I just like the way you explain everything.
