Nice discussion, Brett and Ian. I've learned from some of Ian's you tube videos over the past few years. Thanks for another interesting interview!

Great interview Brett. Pretty much summed up Ian to a tee. I was lucky enough to train with Ian in 99 & 00, I lived with him briefly at that time as I was planning on moving from Tasmania to train on a permanent basis. A few years back, I made a trip to Melbourne and caught up with Ian on pool deck and had a chat and watched him coach. Great coach, friend and all-round person.

yeah wow. Im a tassie swimmer. Why would you look at tasmania to train? As soon as there is any talent they are moved to qld.

@@blueangelba135 I moved to Melbourne to train with Ian as he provided a great program, technical aspects and took an interest in my development. Plus the bonus of swimming alongside Matt Welsh.

Question for you, Brett: as a sprinter and as a coach, do you see benefits in training using varying strokes per breath, to develop CO2 tolerance? Any thoughts would be very welcome :)
