Screenwriter Keiko Nobumoto, the original creator of the Wolf's Rain anime, passed away on December 1 after a battle with esophageal cancer, she was 57. RIP Keiko Nobumoto, now she is in paradise.
Thank you for bringing this sad but still somehow peaceful news to me. I love this song and the artwork in the video reminds of someone who I met in real life.
This was my older brother's favorite anime and song. He sang it all the time around the house and begged me to watch it Lol I have listened to this song a thousand times but today the song really hits home for me. My brother passed away this year, he was my best friend and this song really reminds me of him. "Still the road keeps on telling me to go on..." I feel like in that line he is telling me to keep living life even though he is not here, and try to find happiness. "Something is pulling me, I feel the gravity of it all". Thank you Chris for being the best big brother a sister could have. RIP, I love you
Is it just me or does anyone else for some reason cry from listening to this. It feels like it speaks volumes than just a song, a deeper meaning or a heartfelt underlying message. Whenever I heard this song I couldn't help but start getting choked up and getting emotional. Ive never had this happen to ANY song I've listened to. Just this one.
It's not just you, so many people cry listening to it. I can't even properly identify _why_ it makes me cry, because it causes so many emotions that I can't untangle. Crying or not, it's one of my all time favorite songs.
Yes, I haven't even watched the anime but still it somehow touches very sensitive fibers... it would be nice if someone could analyze this song and explain why this happens
I remember hearing this song on Adult Swim and seeing the ending theme of Wolf's Rain. That was back in the time where I had first discovered "Adult Swim" and Inuyasha. I had started staying up later and later and just remember seeing the ending theme to Wolf's Rain and it just struck a chord with me then. This is one of those kinds of songs that leaves a lasting impression on you forever and never fades away.
***** its was 2004 and i was 11 and that my brother and I always watched this every Saturday Night on Adult Swim. The Adult Swim back then was still young and cool with all the animes, cartoons, and best of all the bumps(commercial break music). Those were the days when it was the best. And after 11 years everything changed and its was down right depressing how they have evolve from something classy into a horrible joke. though there are some good qualities for it today it still won't match my childhood experience back then of how i remembered Adult Swim and it's shows.
dave55811 That's why you got to express it. There are many ways to express it. That is our biggest talent that we have: not our sanity, not our eyes, not our ears, not our capacity to make plans with reason, not our ability to see the world with the eyes of someone else, but our ability to express ourselves. This is the greatest of all gifts that we have. And to fullfill your purpose, the purpose of your existence you should work on it, you should learn it, you should find it, the way to express yourself. I tell you by experience there is nothing that is more satisfying, nothing that calms your spiritual thirst or hunger more, nothing that is more the answer of all questions to life that you have. Because the mystery of life is that we're all totally unique. Every moment that we experienced in life we experinced it in our own personal individual unique way. Every moment in your life the way you experienced only you experienced it the way you experienced it. In times when you were sad as an example maybe other poeple that you love didn't even notice that you were sad or in times when you were happy maybe certain poeple were not even interested what makes you happy or in times when you were depressed and going through the day seemed to be painful and a struggle. Maybe on this particular day you were alone with your pains or maybe it seemed to you that everyone you love or care for has abandoned you and were not at all interested that you did suffer or maybe it felt to you like that. The point I'm making is that we all every one of us (humans) we're totally unique. Look around you, look in the mirror, go into your memory: there is in this whole damn universe not a second one that looks exactly like you, the same thing with your voice: Record it and listen to it. There is in this whole damn universe not a second person that has the exact voice like you have. All the memories you gathered in your life, the happier ones and the more depressing ones noone gathered them like you and put them in the order like you: this was my happiest day in my life, this was my saddest day in my life etc. There are countless examples when you think about it that you, me and anyone is totally and utterly unique in this universe. So in a way everyone has it's own universe and there is much that we can share. So maybe now you understand it a bit better why it is so important to express yourself. It is to tell everyone of how it is to be you, how it feels to be you. To tell everyone this is how I feel hate or anger or sadness or love or loneliness or desperation or hunger for a friend, for someone that understands me, someone that laughs and cries with me at the same time and not just wants my smile and my laughter, but doesn't take my sadness. There are a million ways to express yourself. One of which is acting, but not accidently, but consciously, another one is writing stories or novels, another one is writing poetry, another one is drawing or painting, dancing is another one, playing an musical instrument another one, singing another one. Some poeple can express themselves through sport, others love to create homepages with selfmade youtube videos on it. Share yourselves and express your uniqueness. Else how can we know who you are. And above all it is a need like the need to go to the toilet when the bladder is full. So we need to express ourselves and believe me there is nothing that is more satisfying and we got to find ways to do it. When you of course say: But I have no talent: I cannot sing, dance, draw, write poetry. I'm a loon, a douchebag, a misfit, a zero than I tell you: We all have talents. Search for it, find it. When you are an individual and unique and I know you are than you have also the talent to express yourself.
I remember watching this a few years ago, I was in sixth or seventh grade. I vividly remember staying up late and sobbing into a pillow. The music and the story just hit me right in the heart. I absolutely love Wolf's Rain.

Saddened to hear Keiko Nobumoto died of esophageal cancer on December the 1st, Wolf's Rain is one of the shows that got me into anime, one that I have rewatched recently, and that does hold a special place in my heart. So knowing that a person deeply related to the show died is definitely a big loss to the world of Japanese animation.
Been a long road to follow Been there and gone tomorrow Without saying goodbye to yesterday Are the memories I hold still valid? Or have the tears deluded them? Maybe this time tomorrow The rain will cease to follow And the mist will fade into one more today Something somewhere out there keeps calling Am I going home? Will I hear someone singing solace to the silent moon? Zero gravity what's it like? Am I alone? Is somebody there beyond these heavy aching feet Still the road keeps on telling me to go on Something is pulling me I feel the gravity of it all
I mean, they rebooted Fruits Basket at least, not sure if I missed any others, but yeah, I agree. :3 I guess FMA Brotherhood counts too... If those got reboots, why not Wolf's Rain? :? Although to be honest, I only barely watched it when it was first on many years ago and just now rewatched half of it and haven't even finished it, but I love it already. XD
I’m so conflicted, because I personally think the ending of the series is perfect..and although I adore the characters and want to see more of them, in my heart, I know it’s for the best that more of the series likely won’t be made. I appreciate that the people behind wolfs rain thought it was more important to finish the story in a way that was meaningful to them, rather than just make more because its what people wanted. But I do hope more people can at least find their way to this anime someday too, I hope maybe it’ll go on Netflix or something so it’ll be more widely accessible :).
It does not need a reboot. It needs a continuation. The wolves had faced their deaths countless times. But for the first time ever they finally acquired a moon flower. The next try may have actually lead to Paradis
RIP mom I love and I will see you again. Ill never forget you bought me the big box set of wolfs rain with the CD combo for Christmas, this song takes me back to those days in my room watching it with you laughing in the living room and me getting mad at yall for being loud. God I wish I could relive that for just a hour.
Every strike of each key in this song is like a thorn being jammed in my soul. So sad and hopeful at the same time. The last few notes are like a climax to a story, and I feel like it's a nostalgic search and journey to find paradise. You know, they say there's no such thing as paradise, but a voice keeps calling to me... it says... search... for paradise... best and most symbolic anime I have ever seen. There will never be another like it.

A slow but gorgeous and chillingly beautiful ending song for Wolf's Rain! I watched it myself from March 26, 2023. This song left me mesmerized and touched pondering over the emotions and struggle of the wolves in the episode! Like the warm embrace of a lonely snowy night! 7.6.2023
I dedicate this song to My Friend Curtis Anderson. Who Passed Away on July9 ,2011. This song fits him perfectly. WIll Miss you Brother. R.I.P. This is his Funeral Song.
I have the whole series on DVD. I love it so much, but I cant watch it that often due to how badly it tears me up inside. The last scene between Toboe and Quent, turns me into a blubbering mess every single time.

Strangely enough, even though I haven't seen the anime for such a long time that I don't really remember it, it almost makes me cry. Shows how much of an impact it had.
this is perfect for wolf's rain. it fits in perfectly with the mood of the anime. i loved the show, though it made me cry so much. i don't think i've ever cried so hard for an anime.
i’m in the same boat lmao. i’ve been meaning to watch it for ages and just recently got around to it and i regret not watching it sooner, it’s amazing so far. but like the dude above says, it ain’t ever too late!
I watched this as a 9 year old in 2006 with no prior knowledge of anime as a medium of storytelling....i loved to read though and was totally blown away by the surreal sadness presented in this show - the music, the muted colors, hit very different from anything else i was used to seeing at the time. Although I'm pretty sure i didnt understand the plot, Wolf's Rain (and Arjuna) stayed with me as the two anime that got me into anime, and into pop culture as fine art as a whole.
And?? Your point? It’s anime. And we’re American. And Adukt Swim was one the only platforms to watch anime at the time. 95 baby here and you can kindly kiss my ass while I watch Inuyasha. 🤷🏽♂️
For someone who has been (avidly) watching anime for almost 40 years, Wolf's Rain ranks amongst my top 20 series. A deeply nostalgic, imaginative, and thought-provoking production.
what the fuck I never knew this song was this anime's ending. someone recommended it to me over 10 years ago and I never got to it. fuck man, I fucking love this song, gotta watch this
My childhood, when i was only 7 i watched it even if i didnt understood it quite well.but in the end, it was tragic .their iwn salvation was their death near their beloved ones
WOW its almost a decade since you upload this vid. I first heard this song aprox two years ago and I completely fell in love with it. After that, I searched the full version and here I am. This vid is in my favourites list since that, its an awesome song
This song is so nostalgic. I feel like this song resonates greatly with me. I miss when times were simpler without all the hate and dislike for each other. As I am getting older I feel like this song keeps getting more relatable and even though times are rough I have to keep going on. I wish there would be times when people can get together and be kind to each other. Anyways I hope whoever reads this has a good day and if youre going through hard times please dont lose hope there is still time for a better tomorrow or for better days. I love you even if I dont know you. i wish you all the best!
I watched Wolf's rain when I was 12, I absolutely adored Toboe. You can guess what happened next. I had never had my soul crushed like that from a tv show before and I think its why I struggle to get super invested in Characters. It was so worth it. 🤣🤣
i remember i used to fight with my brother to know who would get to watch his favourite programm on tv for me it was Wolf's rain and for him star gate SG1 haha .... i'd give everything to go back to those times
I didn't watch the anime. Only saw several scenes and basically wondered why were the wolves in human forms. Then this ending song appeared showing the scene where the wolf endlessly running in slowmo. The lyrics hit me; "Am I alone? "Is somebody there beyond these heavy aching feet. Still the road keeps on telling me to go on". Omg, it was so painful and broke me down in tears.
oh man ive always had a really emotional connection to the anime itself and i havent heard this song in about 4 years. as soon as the song started it hit me in the feels right away. wasnt expecting that haha.
whats sad is...it makes everyone want to cry and yet its lyrics are very uplifting and hopeful...it stirs our hearts because weve lost hope in ourselves.

i loved the show, though it made me cry so much. i don't think i've ever cried so hard for an anime.
30 seconds in and I'm crying again. I'm goign to have to watch this again... boy did it touch me!
You ever accidentally stumble into a song that just so happens to describe everything you have been feeling in the last couple of days?
I don't know how many years since I last watched Wolf's Rain, but I keep coming back to this song
I cant believe it took me so long to finally start this anime..
what is it called?
one line wolf's rain. Its a depressing anime. I can not make myself finish it.
I'm watching it at this moment. You are never too late for anything, as long as you are still breathing. :)
i’m in the same boat lmao. i’ve been meaning to watch it for ages and just recently got around to it and i regret not watching it sooner, it’s amazing so far. but like the dude above says, it ain’t ever too late!
@@cleodux for me was the opposite, I couldn't resist to watch it all
I watched this as a 9 year old in 2006 with no prior knowledge of anime as a medium of storytelling....i loved to read though and was totally blown away by the surreal sadness presented in this show - the music, the muted colors, hit very different from anything else i was used to seeing at the time. Although I'm pretty sure i didnt understand the plot, Wolf's Rain (and Arjuna) stayed with me as the two anime that got me into anime, and into pop culture as fine art as a whole.
I wish there were more anime like Wolf's Rain, Bebop, Trigun and Champloo :
I assume just like every other person on here you got in the anime because of adult swim
And?? Your point? It’s anime. And we’re American. And Adukt Swim was one the only platforms to watch anime at the time. 95 baby here and you can kindly kiss my ass while I watch Inuyasha. 🤷🏽♂️
This video taught me that I've been singing this song incorrectly this entire time.
Magic Me lmao
If I pass away, I hope I wake up a wolf in paradise. The wolf has been my favorite animal since a lil girl.
This is just a cartoon.
Me too
For someone who has been (avidly) watching anime for almost 40 years, Wolf's Rain ranks amongst my top 20 series. A deeply nostalgic, imaginative, and thought-provoking production.
what the fuck
I never knew this song was this anime's ending. someone recommended it to me over 10 years ago and I never got to it. fuck man, I fucking love this song, gotta watch this
one of the best thing you can do is to watch this masterpiece ...

Just one of those animes, with enough depth to survive the ages.
I've been looking for the lyrics to this for a while now. Thank you.
Every time I sing this I cry every time X'( this song is so sad yet beautiful.
The people who disliked this probably never reached Paradise.
Also, thank you very much for making a lyric video, you did great.
Regardless if you are wolves or not. May the moon be with you. Always.
12 years since I watched this anime and even the song brings me to tears
This was one of the first anime I've ever watched. I loved it so much. I still do. x.x

One of the best endings you can hear...
WOW its almost a decade since you upload this vid.
I first heard this song aprox two years ago and I completely fell in love with it. After that, I searched the full version and here I am. This vid is in my favourites list since that, its an awesome song
I would love to see this live...such a beautiful song!
Coming back here to listen to this song again before 2021 ends, because still the road keeps on telling me to go on
I watched this anime so long ago, but it still never fails to make me tear up.
this anime has so many feels
Rest In Peace Keiko, and thank you.
Thank you, hope you're doing good, too!

I watched Wolf's rain when I was 12, I absolutely adored Toboe. You can guess what happened next. I had never had my soul crushed like that from a tv show before and I think its why I struggle to get super invested in Characters. It was so worth it. 🤣🤣
i love the anime, song &her voice. it's so sad. thank you.

i remember i used to fight with my brother to know who would get to watch his favourite programm on tv for me it was Wolf's rain and for him star gate SG1 haha .... i'd give everything to go back to those times
RIP Djali. I know the time on Earth was so short for you. The Rainbow Bridge is just a temporary haven before we unite again.
Omg, it was so painful and broke me down in tears.
posted my video since I used this song and found it here, love you for posting this great song btw
This song shakes me, and makes my eyes almost cry.
This is one of the most beautiful songs from animes that i ever heard, the melody is awesome.

oh man
ive always had a really emotional connection to the anime itself and i havent heard this song in about 4 years. as soon as the song started it hit me in the feels right away. wasnt expecting that haha.
Id have to stop it before the start of the song or else Id start getting there. I love the song but damn it really pushes out those emotions.
I just remembered this.
Welp, time to go re-watch all of Wolf's Rain.
One does not simply dislike this song. Finally know how to do it on piano :D
Today is the birthday of a girl friend of mine. This is her favorite song ever... So I'll learn it and I'll sing it to her tonight by a chat voice!
whats sad is...it makes everyone want to cry and yet its lyrics are very uplifting and hopeful...it stirs our hearts because weve lost hope in ourselves.
years later, this song continues to bring me to tears.
