Mother Nature no discretion. She will do what she does without consideration. All we can do is hope that people can stay safe and survive. So happy you were OK through all this. Thanks for sharing Mr. G!
Wow Bill, I had no idea you had all that going on. So glad you are safe and didn't have more damage than you did. Thanks for checking in with us to let us know you are OK
WOW, the devastation. Bill, you work your property from sun up to sun down. To see this on video really puts reality in check. I worked on poles for communications for years and have dealt with ice storms and wind storms. The crews work so hard and put them selves in danger trying to keep up to such events. At the end of the day, YOUR ALIVE and well. It sure proves that your hard work and be prepared for whatever and whenever sure pays off. As always Bill, Be safe, play safe....and it just might be time to get the priorities straight...CHEERS
Every day is a new adventure! I haven't had any amber fluid since this occurred. I have been way too tired. I take the time for breakfast, but I don't always eat supper or cook over the fire like I used too. Just, not enough energy. I am hoping things will change this winter!
its Incredible how many trees are snaped off like twigs. big trees too .lots of damage but could have been worst i guess looks like the camper and most of the other stuff except for the fish house has minor damage . but still pretty bad thankfully you was not hurt. guess if there is a bright side it is that you will have plenty of dry wood for years to come. Hope you have a good weekend Bill.
I lost a lot of money trees... Oaks, Walnut, Hickory and Cherry. It saddens me. Many of the trees are twisted and split. Only good for firewood. My days have been full!
Doggone it, Mr Goudy. I hate that you suffered all that damage, and the clean up that followed, but I’m glad you weren’t injured. I would have been happy to drive up one weekend and help with the clean up effort had I known. That offer stands for any future calamities as well. Take care, and cheers, sir!
Wow, those derechio's are wicked strong. Look at the size of some of those trees, that's incredible, glad you were ok Bill. You'll have more firewood than you'll know what to do with!
Craig, I just want to cry. I lost so many good trees. Walnut, Hickory, Cherry, and others. These were money trees. The Ash trees were already dead due to that emerald ash bore (bug) I guess, I wasn't meant to harvest any of them. Nature has a way of thinning out a forest! Now, I have one of those high efficient wood stoves and I have more firewood than I need! I'd rather have more than not enough! Take care, my friend!
Wow, Mr. Goudy. That is a lot of destruction. I can hear the disgust and frustration in your voice. I hate to hear it but am glad that you are making some progress. Stay safe out there, friend.
Glad to see you back on here, I sure missed your videos, been watching you all the way back to Bulldog Bill days. Hoping you get recovered from all the downed trees and damages from the storm.
A few years back I had a green 1963 ford short bed truck (3 on the tree) that looked very similar to the one in your channel picture. Ahhhh, the memories. I sure had a lot of fun with that truck.
It is how real life often interferes with my RUclips life, Big J. After all this my RUclips thoughts have diminished, and I would like to have the time to spend on the computer, but I now have way too much work to do! I am hoping to get back to the computer this winter once the weather changes and I can't work outside as much! We shall see!
Was wondering why you hadn't been posting and now we know, so glad you're safe, if I could be there to help I would but I'm in England, keep your chin up Bill
Big 👍🏻Wow looks like you have a big job cut out for you Bill. Im just glad you and lucey Lou are ok. I bet she didnt like that stoem. Where did you two stay during the storm?? Not in the camper??
Seems wrong to say you were blessed looking at all that damage, but it looks like it could have been so much worse! 😮 Good luck on your continued clean up efforts!
That`s often the way it goes for power crews. A lot of the time they have little to do. But when the bad weather rolls around, those boys forget what sleep even is. And often its long hours in miserable weather after an ice storm.
Oh my Goudy..glad u OK....I lived in Louisiana, FL..seen my whole town and SW area wiped to slap due to hurricanes that spawned muliple tonadoes many times. As a seasoned Disaster Officer...I have seen it all. And your disaster is bad. I have resources with mud out and chainsaw crews that come from a church based disaster team..well trained and well versed ,FREEEE,,we could of help...but did not know. Recovery is slow. Gosh, I feel bad I could not help. You need my #..lol. B
Thank you, B. I am handling it day by day! Every day is a new adventure! I now have the main roads and some of the trails clear. I still have areas of the property that I have not cleared, yet. I will be working on this for the next year to get it back to the way I had it. Haha! Gives me something to do in my spare time! Thanks for the offer that is so nice but there are so many others that got hit even harder... There were some people with minor injuries but no reported deaths that I know of. In that sense, we were very lucky!
That sounds like a great idea on the tractor. Is it diesel or gas? Do you have plenty of fuel? The only other problem with the tractor PTO is if you need to use the tractor for clearing etc. I have been using the heck out of mine. I was without grid power for 8 days. I ran the generator for 16 hours a day and used the solar for 8 hours a night. On my solar I have a 12 volt system with a 2000 watt 120 v inverter. 400 watt solar panels. I would charge my batteries all day and run the inverter all night .. Worked out pretty good. I would need a bigger solar power system if I wanted to use it for longer durations. I used 14 Gallons of LP Gas a day. Got to keep the fuel consumption in mind! Good luck, my friend!
Holy hell that is quite the mess to clean up. Like no wonder you weren't on, you've been busier than a beaver. I hope you had a few amber fluids to sip on at the end of the day. Take care and cheers from da ROCK.
Thanks, Ted. To be honest I haven't had an amber fluid since this happened. We have been in a drought, and I haven't had any down time (Rainy Days). I am looking forward to the winter. Days will be shorter and maybe this drought will end! There are still areas on my property that I cannot access as of yet! I have gotten the main throughfares open and I am now trying to get to the more remote areas. It all takes time.
Every day is a full adventure! We have been in a drought, and I have had some very good days getting a lot done. I plan to get some rest when the weather changes this winter.... We shall see!
@@BillGoudy, seriously, Bill. I wish I knew that this had happened to you. I would have helped you out. Told you where the Salvation Army in Keokuk was. Steered you to a homeless shelter. Taken your little doggie in and left you outside. What are friends for if not something like that?

Thanks, TSP..... You are so right!
Wow Bill, I had no idea you had all that going on. So glad you are safe and didn't have more damage than you did. Thanks for checking in with us to let us know you are OK
Thanks, Rusty!

Glad to see you back on here, I sure missed your videos, been watching you all the way back to Bulldog Bill days. Hoping you get recovered from all the downed trees and damages from the storm.
Bulldog is gone but not forgotten! It will be a year or more before it gets back to normal around here!
Wow Bill - good to see you still gettin after it.
I'm glad you and yours were safe in spite of all that damage.
Be well my friend.
Thank you!

Think about all of that fire wood. It will be fine... Just another adventure.
A big adventure..... for sure, Larry!
Wow
Thanks, Jipsie!
Holy smokes. Take your time to recover - physically and mentally.
Every day is a full adventure! We have been in a drought, and I have had some very good days getting a lot done. I plan to get some rest when the weather changes this winter.... We shall see!
Firewood of a lifetime…
For sure! I have been cutting and splitting almost every day!
