  • Hi guys here’s a vid on the wall jacks my fridays video. Keep in mind I built it based on 9ft ceiling height (109 1/8) and the total 2x4 length was 162”

Don't forget to put black metal wood straps from bundles under bottom plate and secure to couple joints i lost a 60 foot wall with wall jacks and no straps because at the hallway point of the lift you are pushing the wall a lot 😎😎👌👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦

Speaking of being under a wall... I live in Massachusetts and a couple weeks ago heard on the news 8 guys were lifting a gable wall over a garage and somehow it fell and hurt 5 guys 1 critically. Always gotta keep saftey in mind! Things can go bad in the blink of an eye!

Wow, there you go point proven..hate to hear stuff like that but it’s the hard reality sometimes. One little thing like sudden change of wind , toe nails pop on bottom plate or guy slips is all it takes and you’ve done it thousands of times successfully so why would this time be any different?. I always tell young guys always have an exit plan in your head

@@framingbeast720 I worked for a guy who used to stand all first floor walls with the lull. We used to take the metal band straps and attach to the bottom plate for piece of mind. That way you're not just depending on toenails to hold the bottom plate to the floor

@@bri_guy508 true, I’ve flattened the odd joist hanger in a pinch for the same reason a few times before

Would it work with hinge on other side of strong back? Avoid the top plate rub on bolt heads? Just asking, not telling...... love this site spun rig. Nice work. 👊🏼 👍🏼🤙🏼

We put a 3x3 steel plate with spot in center to accept wall jack and use to lift garage steel beams and other beams 😎👍👍🇨🇦

    Thanks for the great content!
If you get a minute, I would love to know, what are your thoughts on building longer jacks if staggering your 2x4s?
Reason being, we do a lot of customs with low slope vaulted shed roofs, resulting in ~14' tall walls. The qualcrafts get it done, but it can be scary to rely in the 2x4s depending on wall length, windows, etc.
Our next custom has 18' tall walls on the high side of the house 😮

I’ve never tried that but I don’t see how it wouldn’t work… maybe screw some structural screws in also for added peace of mind
