WOW love love love your quilts, especially the red and white one. Love how you approach the setting and your thought process to just the right one. I never saw do many different versions of the BHs in such a short time. Love that you participated in Cori’s sewcial. Thank you
Love how you added the blue to the quilt! Really a beautiful quilt. The sampler is also very beautiful as well. Love your patterns and fabrics. Thank you 🎉
My favorite blue! Thank you for explaining the limiting of color, after all the work it is upsetting to wonder my quilt doesn't look as pretty to me as what I see others produce. I have a tendency to late my brain run amuck and I'm all over the place with color. Love the red and white.
Yes, I completely agree. It is so hard to figure out color and how it plays together sometimes and a limited color palette is one of the best places to start. Choose 2 favorite colors and stick with them for the whole project. You can always add a third in the setting.
Joanna you’re the best, I just ❤ your style! I’m a newbie to quilting and have discovered Fig Tree & it’s love at first sight 😁❤️ Such a treat to see a video from you!
When you walk into your LQS, go to their red section and squint your eyes... sometimes that helps you see the reds there as "dark", "medium" and "light". Another way is simply to look at how much white is in the pattern. The reds that "read" solid would be dark, then the prints with a bit of variation and then the "lights" would be the prints with the same amount of color as white. Good luck!
Its the Blockheads from 2 years ago. You would want to go to MODA and download all of their blocks for that year's program, then go to our blog and follow along each week as we sew that block. If you follow along on your own special blockheads tour, and use a large variety of cream and red blocks, you would have this at the end. good luck!

Great advice on using a limited color palette. Never thought of that.
