My MX Mecha brown switches just arrived and I like it so much. It's my 1st mecha keyboard and it's true that it boosts my typing speed by 60% compared to my membrane keyboard :D Sleek, comfortable, long battery life (-5% in a week), good build quality, typing speed boost, better connectivity. Is it worth the bucks ? YES Money well spent hahahaha The backlight also turns on if you touch the metal plate, even from the sides :D
Hi quick question: Do you think this keyboard with the brown switches would be acceptable for a work-at-home call-centre environment where it is already too quiet and the keystroke sounds might seem amplified to the person on the other end?
@@mercesletifer47 it's a little louder than scissor switches of laptop keyboard, but not annoyingly loud. Is the red switches variant not available in India ?
I made myself chuckle by how fast I liked this video. Literally the instant she said "Hi, I'm Abby". It's almost as if, after years of practice, the emotion of liking someone or something is automatically expressed by clicking a button. Her being extremly likable might've had something to do with it...
Love my MX Keys. This seems pretty sweet too if you like that clickity clack. Can you go more in depth about the bolt as I’m using the unifying ones no problem for multiple devices.
@@RTINGSdotcom just wondering if it’s better latency wise and connectivity wise or if it’s just a rebranding. Also is there still issues with the S95B review?
The Bolt is not a rebrand of unifying, it's a whole new receiver, they share many common features but bolt is encrypted over the air and should have better transmission when surrounded by many devices, useful for offices, etc. It's almost like the new gen of unifying. As for the S9B, we're currently retesting it with the newest firmware, so we're hoping to update our review ASAP!
@@RTINGSdotcom awesome thanks, well I guess the notification algorithm decided to not remind me about the original review😳. Keep up the awesome work you guys do!
Sounds very loud. Why is this suggested for office use if it would annoy anyone within 100 feet? I have the older wave and it's loud, but not as loud as this.
Great review, thanks! What is the polling rate of this keyboard and do you know whether a TKL version is coming out as well? And no I am not interested in the mx mini version.
Unfortunately, we don't have that information because it's not advertised, nor can you change it in the software. We also haven't heard anything about a TKL version, so there probably isn't any current plans on their end, though we can't say for sure. Sorry about that!
I think its a bit too expensive to what it offers. Even the Lightning keyboard is in the same price category. Keys are not PBT and it is hard to find low profile PBT keycaps even if you want to replace them. I think their butterfly switch keyboard is much better for office work.

Good way to ruin a keyboard: cramp all F-keys together with the numeric row. Also, the F-keys are not in groups of 4. If you want a logitech mechanical and you don't care about the cable, just checkout the G512 Carbon. That's a proper layout.
though its true its also just one of those things thats out there. F keys are always either directly above like this, aligned in groups of 4 directly above "2" or standard layout where the F1 is above halfway between the 1 and 2. I dont understand why they have to do stupid stuff like that making it more difficult to get used to its very annoying
This is a 75% layout keyboard and all keyboards that are 75% or less will have the cramped keys since there's no space to have spacing with the function keys.
if this thing is considered quiet I don't even want to imagine what a "real" mechanical keyboard sounds like. jeez. My main issue with this keyboard is the light pressure and short throws of the keys/switches. it's way too easy trigger and thus typos are persistent.
I really want this but I’m uncertain which to get this or the mini, I like to have the numbers but I find this pretty big and I want to save space on my desk☹️

HELP! Yesterday received my large MX Mechanical. It switches on and a green light appears sometimes and Option 1 flashes a lot. BUT keys do not work. No backlight. Dead! No communication with computer. Using an MX S3 mouse if that makes a difference
Hey John, While I wish we could provide more insight, this isn't an issue we encountered. And without being there to experience the issue, we can't really troubleshoot it with you. For something like this, it might actually be best to reach out to the manufacturer for tech support help!
might be a bit late but a flashing light means pairing mode, and as it's device 1 for you, i think it is not connected to the bolt reciever. You can connect it in the logitech options software, plug in the reciever, and then you have an optin to connect a device to it
Generally speaking, more keyboards *should* work without the software, you'll just likely lose out on some features. The software is only there to do customization/alterations, but the keyboard will still work without it!
omg right wtf is happening at least have someone that knows how to type be on the video. One hand using only one finger while another using the complete wrong finger for spacebar extremely triggering i thought i was the only one
The light indicator for the capital/small letters (instead of the usual led light on the upper right corner) is tragically just a small flash of the word caps on the actual key making it almost impossible to distinguish if it is for small or capital letters. Second, the letter keys seem awkwardly to the left and especially trying to hit the back key you end up hitting other keys on the right side. These are two major flows that make this keyboard not suitable for productivity
I bought one of these in February and it has a bucketload of issues. Frequently disconnects input lag and frequently goes to sleep needing to press multiple times to register and continue typing, are just a few! Avoid this keyboard at all costs.

Thanks, Abby and gang. I have the 1st gen MX Keyboard and am considering getting another set for all the devices I use at work.
10 Months of battery life with no backlit keys, 15 days of battery life with backlit keys.. That's insane.
And the light isn't even on constantly...controlled with a sensor :/
Finally a keyboard review that isn't some dude talking for 2 hours. Thanks!
I have the full size brown switch version like in the video, and I love the sound it makes!
I just bought one tonight at Office Max, so far so good!
There is no texture on the keys. They are completely smooth and after a month of use, they are already getting slick.

Does it also work in wired mode?
Hello!
No it doesn't unfortunately!
ABS keycaps for a $150+ board? Hard pass.
Is that blinking the entire time during use like it was in that sound test?
The blinking is actually there to show a device paring, but it goes solid once it's connected to a device!
