      Wait till you understand how your soil actually breaths and how compaction really screws things up. Like too much compaction, no oxygen, no oxygen, no nitrogen from the air, no nitrogen, the your aerobic oxygen loving bacteria that fix atmospheric nitrogen into plant useable nitrogen can’t work. Basically no aeration, no free nitrogen. Nitrogen is one of the 3 big key nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) NPK

      I know this text is old but does it actually work?

    • @aafiyabinthahmad9022
      @aafiyabinthahmad9022 Год назад +2

      @@Badmitzmaruit worked with my cuban oregano. Cut off the damaged stem and stuck it in a glass of water for a week and changed out the water twice in total. It grew small roots and as soon as it got to like 2cm long, I dug a hole in the soil, and I planted it and it's growing nicely since.

    • @aafiyabinthahmad9022
      @aafiyabinthahmad9022 Год назад +1

      @@Badmitzmaru disclaimer:
      I do know this doesn't work with all plants and with some plants it only works with the thicker stems, not with the thinner stems.
      And with others you don't leave it in water as the stem just gets soggy, and instead pick the thickest healthiest looking stem, take off all the big leaves and just leave like 3 or 4 at the top and just snip of the bottom of the stem diagonally, dig a hole in the soil(so you don't damage the stem), put the stem in, water and wait for leaves to start appearing.
      For a better chance of survival, I placed the plant pot indoors on my window sill. I noticed this method works better for thick coriander and thick mint stems.
      For better results I tried using rooting powder and although it grows roots just fine without it, I realised rooting powder helps it to show roots sooner and seems to help the roots grow longer faster.

    • @tahjeisaacs5306
      @tahjeisaacs5306 2 месяца назад

      @@Badmitzmaruthis is how many plants are propagated. It depends on the type of plant though. Not all can create roots from any part. But if you look up the specific plant + propagation you can learn how to grow babies from all your plants.

    Used your tip on a seed from a fruit from Thailand, it sprouted 😃🤟

    • @myfirstnamemylastname2994
      @myfirstnamemylastname2994 Год назад

      I'm going to try that with every variety of fruit I have access to. Some fruit is irradiated though to keep us from growing new plants just as many legumes and corn and other things are either genetically modified to be sterile so they can't grow anything from a seed or are irradiated so they don't spoil as quickly or have chemicals sprayed on them to prevent them from being used for anything but food. Think about how toxic that must be. It should be illegal for them to prevent us from using a bag of dry beans to grow a field of beans. They do that because they don't want us to have Independence but it could save many many people from malnutrition if everything that came naturally as a seed could be grown from the seed you can buy in the food section of the grocery store. Once in a while though some of the seeds Will Survive those processes and if you soaked a handful of dry pinto beans some of them might actually sprout. Sure wouldn't hurt to try everything you you eat that is actually a seed including quinoa, poppy seeds, millet and Raw peanuts.

    Sometimes string and a qtip are too much weight for a delicate stem. If you have some 3M medical tape, or cut off the sticky part of a bandaid? It works perfectly to protect the area and will easily unstick/stretch if needed. For extra support I use pipe cleaners or thin wire or even insulated wire made for plants. Affix it to a main area of the plant and then wrap it in a corkscrew pattern around the base of the stem- stretch out to desired length. Stem will rest on it until it can support itself.
