- Original logo intro video for Cyan (now "Cyan Worlds"), from the 1993 original release of Myst - "the surreal adventure that will become your world". :)
I noticed everyone was posting the newer versions of this video from Riven onward - even after all this time no one had posted the Myst version. So, here it is.

Watching this logo meant I was going to see something amazing momentarily. Amazing because back then, we were lucky to have 256 colors to display. Moving video was almost a dream. I'll always adore MYST for creating not just a great puzzle game but a great atmosphere, soundtrack, and experience.
Welp, time to put the soundtrack up on my playlist.

I love Myst so much and it was definitely one of the first video games I got to experience, next to Riven and the original The Legend of Zelda!~

Such a simple tune but it promises so much excitement. Myst back then literally changed the way I looked at the world and how I approached problem-solving.
This intro single-handedly changed my life forever.
That tune is forever etched in my brain. Side note, everything about this game was creepy to me as a kid, the Cyan intro included 😂
Normally I dislike developer logos but this one is easily my personal favourite. I especially love the background music it uses and seeing simple 3D rendering like that back then was a real novelty. Glad they included the logo video in RealMyst and its more recent Masterpiece edition as well.
I think their newest logo is also pretty nice.
4 words: best puzzle game ever. Enough said.

I'm still crossing my fingers for a Myst series on a premium network.
I always wanted to explore that basic geometric-shaped world inside that logo.
I totally forgot, but it's true, I felt the same "OOhh is this some place that's going to be in the game?"

Set up a Windows XP virtual machine in the program called "Oracle VirtualBox". Then you can run it! =)
If you look at the newer versions, near the tall spike, you can see a Moity dagger from Riven!
Sailor Silvermoon there's also a rocket from the selentic age
I saw this today after my dad bought Myst 3-in-1 or whatever it's called.

the modern versions of this intro don't have that hard chord at 0:14. that's what makes it so epic! (And I found that if you speed it up, it sounds like a guitar riff!)

I'm afraid it needs an operating system much older than that (DOS 3.0). If I could find the DVD, I might be able to get it to run with DOSBox, though.

Good memories :,) I used to play this with my dad when I was around 3 years old. Gives me the goosebumps whenever I hear this.
Krellow sometimes i really wished there were more myst games, because with storyline or not, the games are fantastic,
why isn't there any game like it? ;(
I think that Cyan Studios came out with or is coming out with a new game called Obduction

Hmm. Nothing will ever come close to Myst in the sense of nostalgia. it was such a great game for its time and it has held up well over the decades.
This reminds me of Windows 95.

I wish I could still play the original. The "updated" versions look terrible.
I know your reply is old, but if your computer can run it, realMyst: Masterpiece Edition looks pretty good. It's everything I'd want in a real-world Myst, anyway.

I found an original copy of the game at a yard sale. It seems like it still works, but I can't get it to run...I blame Windows.
I have a copy of Myst (Not realMyst) that runs just fine on an XP virtual machine. :/
Prefer the new version.
