May almighty Allah never lead us astray while on the right path sis. Mewa n sele o, especially for this our obodo Yoruba land. I believe mixing the culture with Islam is largely responsible for these things. Our people are skeptical about embracing Islam in its entirety (since it comes with its own culture too). I guess it's out of fear of losing their identity as Yorubas. Meanwhile, Yoruba culture is not without some mixture of religion of its own o and some other actions frowned at in Islam.
The big question is, where do we then start explaining all of these from?
And, honestly the Shuyuk have been trying in this regard but trust our people's stubbornness na. Allahu Musta'an- Allah's aid is sought o

Hmmm, dear sis, there is Dhikr (prescribed prayers meant to be chanted individually on daily basis in glorifying Allah) and there is this fabricated adikir (like you've put it) which I believe is the same as what is called Asikiri in Yoruba.
Let no one deceive you ma'am. They are completely different o. I was once in that shoe too as a growing lady (deceived by Businessmen covered in Islamic Alfa robes- awon Alufa) until I learnt the Sunnah. That is why knowledge from the Quran and Sunnah of the prophet alone remain the source of evidence for actions in the Deen.
May almighty Allah continue to make us steadfast on the Pristine Deen of Islam🙏

To add to what the sis said jointly chanting adkar as done in the asalatus is not the way of the prophet, there are daily recommended adkar that Muslims can recite alone for protection and still earn lots of reward from Allah, many of these aluifas also chant the name of of jinns while doing the so called asikiri, can you start listening to the lectures of alhu sunna scholars, you will thank me later, I will share the telegram group to the lectures of Dr Sharafdeen Gbadebo Raji, just be open minded to the truth. Asalamualikum
