I got into katseye because of yoonchae 😃, after seeing few reels/shorts of touch chorus where yoonchae sings and dance at the centre caught my eyes, i believe she is eye catching
Yoonchae’s chorus on touch was enoughhhh to make me get into katseye…i think she shines the most in touch era + she’s giving the idol&model vibe which is veryy helpful for the group to look diversely beauuutiful
Hard disagree on the yoonchae comments. Originally wasn't in my list but mission 2 , she was honestly the best in both anti fragile teams. Yeah she kinda would've fit a kpop group but thats a given since she's korean. Honestly as the missions went on, i felt she fit the group more than nayoung did. Nayoung is a better vocalist 100% but yoonchae is a better performer overall.
Yeah, i think it’s the fact that she trained 2 years in a k-pop company prior to dream academy also played a pretty big role in her getting the part. She was also just more experienced and overall had more exposure to being in the industry, if that makes sense.

Ofc, Hybe would need a Korean to debut on the group for Korean promotions. She does not only debut because she’s Korean lmao, she is definitely fitting for the group in terms of the visual chemistry and the concept and music Katseye is gonna go for. She has stable voice and great dancing skills and stage presence so please leave her alone. All 6 Katseye members are great in any ways and would contribute well for the group. Sadly if your faves wasn’t able to debut it’s because they don’t fit into the group.

I understand why you guys love Manon but I think she wasn’t very committed and it showed. I believe that beauty can only make it so far and talent and hard work is what really matters. I am just a bit annoyed with people thinking Manon is so amazing and hardworking but if they just watched the Netflix show they would actually see what her personality and commitment levels are. It really reinforces that you shouldn’t believe everything you see on the internet. Just because she has a big following doesn’t mean she deserves to be in the group, and to be honest, I think the producers are catching onto this. When you are watching the music videos you can see the formations and how Manon is usually hidden for the “more difficult” parts of the choreography. Even though I am not a huge fan of Manon I am happy for her about making it into the group. I just hope Megan can get a bit more support. She is so talented and sweet. She is my favourite member!!! She tries so hard and she is so talented ❤
I mean if you think about it, the way manon was scouted was completely different than the rest. I actually just recently watched the pop academy katseye and I thought it wasn’t cool how she wasn’t showing up at time, but I’m glad she talked it out with the girls and she did show up toward the end. I think it was more like she knew she was in it. But even then you should still put in the effort. You know? Don’t take it for granted and she sort of did that at first. No hate to her. BTW
Yeah watching this objectively, I find that basically she already had a golden ticket to the debut group. She even mentioned in episodes 6/7 that she thinks that she would be in the group and didn't want any beef with the girls hence the confrontation talk with the girls (which made me doubt if her intentions were genuine or not) I'm quite disappointed her stans were out of control and went dissing the other girls like huh?

I disagree about Yoonchae. She's been one of my favourites since the start, I think she has a great stage presence, she just has a slightly softer vibe than the other members onstage but I think that's a useful addition. Also since it's Hybe x Geffen it is a Korean-American-managed group, it only makes sense for there to be a Korean member to appeal to the Korean market and also because kpop is very popular right now - I mean all the Dream Academy fans are kpop stans, it's just common sense, especially if they were to do Korean music shows at some point. We'll see about that though.

It’s the same with VCHA, you need one Korean or Korean American in the group especially to speak Korean in the interviews. It’s the same in reverse when they try to have at least one English speaking member. It makes sense.

vcha is pretty diverse tho, latin, asian, black and white. *PLEASE READ* anyway, jyp focuses mainly on picking people with dreams and potential that show improvement and improve overtime then improving them more, they made it clear in the show where Mr. J.Y Park said that he wasn't looking for perfection rather improvement and most importantly character too. katseye was chosen for talent and talent only, they chose perfect girls who don't really need training just practice, which knets said took away from the visual aspect. they're really pretty by my standards at least, but I've seen knets discussions where they said that visual is important and that HYBE didn't care at all about that and that the only pretty person was the Korean girl yoonchae, then compared it to vcha and said that visually they think JYP did better. again this wasn't what I said I'll search for the source later. I'm a eyekon vlight, I wholeheartedly support both groups, I'm speaking from an unbiased perspective.

@@domilyrics2218 I don't think vcha look asian.. they're pretty diverse in my opinion too, both vcha and katseye members are fluent in 6 different languages which I love cause I love both groups. also for vcha they're targeting literally any fanbases they could, they have a japanese fanbase, a strong latin one too, a little bit of Korean, like they heard of them.. but their main target is American their division tho (division 3) is really bad at doing so, it's like they're managed by Millennials who just go by what they THINK people would like, the girls have mentioned they don't like their concept and would like to do other stuff that sound more like American targeted stuff just look at their cover dances and songs to see their actual interest but they're badly managed and treated like babies, they could've preserved their fame from the start but chose not to which is so sad. Yall have to remember that the judges also chose based off the chemistry between the girls. Yoonchae seems like a sweetheart and easy to get along with. Teamwork will make them go far so im sure judges prioritize that as much as other factors.
i think one of the 2 korean contestants always would’ve made the group just so they can promote in korea too. nayoung seems more suited to an international group so i’m sad she had thoughts of going solo 😢
Yoonchae deserves her spot, her versatility is insane, she can fit on any genre based on what I've seen in the show, but Manon? I don't know, but she has the visual, but tbh for me based on talent I will choose either ezrela, marquise, emily or samara over her

Yoonchae is pretty talented at her age and blends well with the group. I wanted Emily, but I’m not gonna sit here and be salty about it like a lot of people when their fave didn’t make it. That’s is what happens in survival shows. You’re not always going to get everyone you want in the final group.
I want emily to debut also since she was really good, i was a bit sad when she was not called huhu, but i know this 6 was chosen for a reason and they all deserve it. ❤
After seeing the documentary, I honestly felt like Manon was not needed in the group. I mean I don't mind her low skillset. What I have a problem with was the fact that she missed so many of their lessons even before she was sick just because she felt like it and she kept on complaining about her low skillset instead of working hard to improve herself like the ones who had low skillset. You can see the Japanese trainees working hard to improve themselves and then there is Manon who doesn't even want to live in the house with the others just because 'its too much'. It's also annoying how the coaches let go of Lexie because she missed practice but never eliminated Manon who missed the most practice because of her 'star quality' . I only saw her star quality in the film where she was obviously given a 'major role' and in 'buttons' where the other girls had to put in multiple efforts to help her because she missed practice when they could use the time for self practice. Rest of the time, she just faded in to the background. What's even funnier is that she never actually apologized when the girls confronted her, she just made excuses about others missing practice. There were many other girls with low skillset who actually tried hard and improved . Meanwhile she was always arrogant because of her high fan following, her ethnicity and her pretty face. The only reason she made it in was because Samara messed up big time. I also felt like if Naisha actually didn't spread news about the training, she would have been a fan favourite and made it in to top 10 with the Brazil followers. She was someone I was rooting for right from the start. Her vibe was chill and among the girls of similar ethnicity, she had the best personality . It was pretty obvious that she also got along well with all the girls.

Idk why people think Yoonchae needs to be in kpop or kgroup only.... A global group might could also have a korean too. Its a global group for a reason. And having her in there makes the group more diverse. She is the youngest and she is talented, that's why she is selected in the group. Tbh she is more talented than Manon.
I think this was the perfect lineup, idc what anyone says. The judges and the fans chose perfectly. Samara is very talented but lacks team chemistry, she would be much better as a soloist.

Sorry but Samara was chosen by 9 of the other girls to be in the group in that dynamic where they had to choose who they wanted to debut with (she was one of the most voted) and also on stage she was great with harmonies and group choreographies, so no that wasn't the reason she didn't debut

Nahh, I actually can see why Hybe debuted Yoonchae, she's the bridge between the group and Korea imo as none of the other members are fluent in korean. She appeals to korea while also having that Asian-american vibe (Yes ik she's not america). Also, between the rest of the southeast asian looking girls (the girls that look like your typical asian girl- black hair, natural look etc), she was the most promising and standout of the group in terms of stage presence and abilities. Sorry to say so, also this is coming from an asian person myself. Personally she's probably my bias, and I think the comments are a little harsh on her.
I love Yoonchae but I feel like the main reason they added her was to attract Korean viewers because they are the majority of the people who are interested in K-Pop/K-Pop Adjacent groups. And if she wasn’t added the formations would have been better cause 1 person wouldn’t have to be in the back not visible

I’m sorry but yoonchae carried the show with her positivity and sportsman ship. She never downgraded anyone and deserves to have that spot she has a lot more talent than you think.
People are acting if there won’t other trainees that were so tired via social media just like Manon and it’s irritating me cause y’all trying to do everything to discredit the woman’s hard work. She went from having no professional training at all to growing massively within a two year time span even with time off or recovering from covid. Manon worked hard for her spot in the group just like the other members and she actually deserves ALOT of credit for her growth from being on the lower end skill set wise then now growing into the most diverse member of the group in terms of how she can be utilized. She’s also a songwriter which compliments Lara’s ability to produce & both will be vital for the groups identity going forward. Their T&D coaches even said that she does EXACTLY what she needs to do and what’s asked if her when she shows up & she’s grown consistently throughout the program. Manon is in the group because she’s moldable and can still improve as much as the other members of KATSEYE. That’s why they’re all in the group together, all 6 members balance each other out and all of them deserve their spots. Period. All 6 of them can dance, sing, perform well with personalities to capture an audience, are fashionable, girly, and FUN! Y’all not gone make me hate a girl group that’s clearly the living embodiment of BRATZ dolls!!! NEVER!!!!!

I used not to stan her, but her vocals and the intensity in her eyes always pulled me in. Performance-wise, it was Daniela. Those two (Dani and Manon) always pulled me in. Manon typically also has this calm aura around her whenever she performs. Her Performances keeps you at ease. Girls like Daniela get you dancing with the song. Every artist's artistry is different.

Also since it's Hybe x Geffen it is a Korean-American-managed group, it only makes sense for there to be a Korean member to appeal to the Korean market and also because kpop is very popular right now - I mean all the Dream Academy fans are kpop stans, it's just common sense, especially if they were to do Korean music shows at some point. katseye was chosen for talent and talent only, they chose perfect girls who don't really need training just practice, which knets said took away from the visual aspect.
they're really pretty by my standards at least, but I've seen knets discussions where they said that visual is important and that HYBE didn't care at all about that and that the only pretty person was the Korean girl yoonchae, then compared it to vcha and said that visually they think JYP did better.

@@domilyrics2218 I don't think vcha look asian.. they're pretty diverse in my opinion too, both vcha and katseye members are fluent in 6 different languages which I love cause I love both groups. also for vcha they're targeting literally any fanbases they could, they have a japanese fanbase, a strong latin one too, a little bit of Korean, like they heard of them.. but their main target is American their division tho (division 3) is really bad at doing so, it's like they're managed by Millennials who just go by what they THINK people would like, the girls have mentioned they don't like their concept and would like to do other stuff that sound more like American targeted stuff just look at their cover dances and songs to see their actual interest but they're badly managed and treated like babies, they could've preserved their fame from the start but chose not to which is so sad. Yall have to remember that the judges also chose based off the chemistry between the girls. Yoonchae seems like a sweetheart and easy to get along with. Teamwork will make them go far so im sure judges prioritize that as much as other factors.

Yoonchae deserves her spot, her versatility is insane, she can fit on any genre based on what I've seen in the show, but Manon? I don't know, but she has the visual, but tbh for me based on talent I will choose either ezrela, marquise, emily or samara over her

Yoonchae is pretty talented at her age and blends well with the group. I wanted Emily, but I’m not gonna sit here and be salty about it like a lot of people when their fave didn’t make it. That’s is what happens in survival shows. You’re not always going to get everyone you want in the final group.
I want emily to debut also since she was really good, i was a bit sad when she was not called huhu, but i know this 6 was chosen for a reason and they all deserve it. ❤
I noticed that on top of talent they also chose very tall members. That could have been a reason that they didn’t choose Emily or Ezrela
After seeing the documentary, I honestly felt like Manon was not needed in the group. I mean I don't mind her low skillset. What I have a problem with was the fact that she missed so many of their lessons even before she was sick just because she felt like it and she kept on complaining about her low skillset instead of working hard to improve herself like the ones who had low skillset. You can see the Japanese trainees working hard to improve themselves and then there is Manon who doesn't even want to live in the house with the others just because 'its too much'.
It's also annoying how the coaches let go of Lexie because she missed practice but never eliminated Manon who missed the most practice because of her 'star quality' . I only saw her star quality in the film where she was obviously given a 'major role' and in 'buttons' where the other girls had to put in multiple efforts to help her because she missed practice when they could use the time for self practice. Rest of the time, she just faded in to the background. What's even funnier is that she never actually apologized when the girls confronted her, she just made excuses about others missing practice.
There were many other girls with low skillset who actually tried hard and improved . Meanwhile she was always arrogant because of her high fan following, her ethnicity and her pretty face. The only reason she made it in was because Samara messed up big time.
I also felt like if Naisha actually didn't spread news about the training, she would have been a fan favourite and made it in to top 10 with the Brazil followers. She was someone I was rooting for right from the start. Her vibe was chill and among the girls of similar ethnicity, she had the best personality . It was pretty obvious that she also got along well with all the girls.

I completely agree with you, I think Manon wasn’t very committed and it showed. I believe that beauty can only make it so far and talent and hard work is what really matters. I am just a bit annoyed with people thinking Manon is so amazing and hardworking but if they just watched the Netflix show they would actually see what her personality and commitment levels are. It really reinforces that you shouldn’t believe everything you see on the internet. Just because she has a big following doesn’t mean she deserves to be in the group, and to be honest, I think the producers are catching onto this. When you are watching the music videos you can see the formations and how Manon is usually hidden for the “more difficult” parts of the choreography. Even though I am not a huge fan of Manon I am happy for her about making it into the group. I just hope Megan can get a bit more support. She is so talented and sweet. She is my favourite member!!! She tries so hard and she is so talented ❤

Nahh, I actually can see why Hybe debuted Yoonchae, she's the bridge between the group and Korea imo as none of the other members are fluent in korean. She appeals to korea while also having that Asian-american vibe (Yes ik she's not america). Also, between the rest of the southeast asian looking girls (the girls that look like your typical asian girl- black hair, natural look etc), she was the most promising and standout of the group in terms of stage presence and abilities. Sorry to say so, also this is coming from an asian person myself. Personally she's probably my bias, and I think the comments are a little harsh on her.

Yoonchae is so talented! She was honestly the best when it came to dancing and singing at the same time (which is so difficult!). She’s also so young and has so much time to improve more and more. I find it really odd that you would say she “isn’t needed” but praise Manon. Manon is also talented but she is the LEAST talented out of the girls. She does have that “it” factor and was great when it came to social media but if she didn’t look the way that she does I don’t think she would have been considered.

People are acting if there won’t other trainees that were so tired via social media just like Manon and it’s irritating me cause y’all trying to do everything to discredit the woman’s hard work. She went from having no professional training at all to growing massively within a two year time span even with time off or recovering from covid. Manon worked hard for her spot in the group just like the other members and she actually deserves ALOT of credit for her growth from being on the lower end skill set wise then now growing into the most diverse member of the group in terms of how she can be utilized. She’s also a songwriter which compliments Lara’s ability to produce & both will be vital for the groups identity going forward. Their T&D coaches even said that she does EXACTLY what she needs to do and what’s asked if her when she shows up & she’s grown consistently throughout the program. Manon is in the group because she’s moldable and can still improve as much as the other members of KATSEYE. That’s why they’re all in the group together, all 6 members balance each other out and all of them deserve their spots. Period.
