The consistency in the audio quality is not quite as good as I would like. I started working on this episode a little while ago and picked it back up. I will do my best to make it more consistent in the future.
It always makes my day, when I see that Lorepedia has posted a new video! I'm surprised that you don't already have thousands of subscribers! But, I have no doubt that people will catch on to this channel! Great work! 😊
@@Lorepaedia can't wait. I craft a lot for my own writing so its great to hear depth and thought around fantasy races, civilisations and events. Keep them coming!
Thanks so much! It's a good idea. I covered Rakshasas kind of incidentally at some point in the 9 hells but it felt out of place. It's a good idea to theme it around "shapey changey dudes" I'm sure there are a few others.
Doing a baldurs gate 3 run as a female drow and wanted a video explaining drow lore as i'm completely new to dnd. This video has all the info i ever want, thank you!
Thanks so much, I'm glad it helped. I still need to do a video on surface drow and some of the "good ones" but I think it's a pretty comprehensive guide to normie drow. :D
Good work! I have always been a fan of the Drow! I remember seeing them the first time back in my AD&D days back in the 80s. They weren't a exactly a playable race as they are now. About a year ago my Drow fetish returned when I started to reread the Drizzt novels & catch up to current. I just finished book "The Two Swords."
Funny, a couple hours ago i thought: "when will he Cover the drow?" Your Channel has quickly become my go-to for dnd Lore in RUclips. Thanks Maestro and all Hail the spider Queen ❤
I find it amusing that you can tell when he's literally reading off the FR wiki (which is often), when his lore is old, and when he's basically paraphrasing things that only occur in the R.A. Salvatore novels.
While there have always been exceptions, the idea that Drow have no innate predisposition to evil is a new one, and this change, I feel, detracts from their character. One reason for this is the Drow practice of interbreeding with demons; most living Drow can ultimately trace their lineage to the balor Wendonai, a favored servant of Lolth for about 9,000 years.
From what I’ve noticed, more and more people are uncomfortable with the good/evil alignment system applying innately on a whole. While I tend to agree, I’m new to dnd and don’t want to disrespect established constructs and am just trying to learn more before stating an opinion.
Yes for sure. Sometimes it seems sensible to cover the gods with the culture, but there are a lot of additional pantheons and divine realms I still need to cover and those will probably get dedicated chapters. Thanks for watching!
I really hope you do a video on the elder evils and the far realms they would go good if you talk about the aberrations like aboliths and mindflayers sense there kind of connected
I did one on beholders and the far realm (there isn't a lot of info on the far realm specific to the forgotten realms setting, 4e was the most descriptive they got and even that is pretty sparse. Mindflayers will be their own Underdark episode (I think deep gnomes and miconids will share one and mindflayers will be the final underdark one. Aboleths made it into the "jerks of the sea" episode, but they would fit very well in the underdark or an aberration chapter. Thanks so much for the recommendations!
This is the standard stuff but then I NEVER would allow at my table because it is (Among other things) boring. They are all evil and corrupt but somehow can work as a viable society… but they are smart! I love listening to it because it is so insanely bad only RA can make it made sense. Love the production though so thumbs 👍🏿
I know they have changed a lot of the photos so as to not make Drow look black now a days, but I want to thank you for using a nice image in the pic for clicking on this, I hate that WotC are such spineless losers now a days.
Btw fvck audio quality.. Your content is awesome.. I would have been awesome if i found you sooner instead of watching 7year old 7min videos to understand DnD lore..
I appreciate the honest feedback. I will continue to try to improve the narrative delivery. The music audio was normalized and put in the video as a separate track the way any professional editing process does, so I'm not sure how to respond to that, I can maybe try to balance the narration and music better.
@@Lorepaediaon the contrary, I think the subtle background music was perfect. This is coming from a professional musician. Love your detail as well. Your doing a great job.
Drow are just so asthetically pleasing.

That's how a lot of us get into besides books and D&D games.
Thanks man! Will you make a video about Deep gnomes?
Yeah I think they are next, deep gnomes, miconids and other "good guys" will be a single chapter, but there might be too much to fit it all.
All good points, some Drow are probably inherently predisposed to evil.
I think it adds to Drow culture being really successful at shaping evil beings. Being born evil would make them less interesting imo.
My guy, this is called racism

Mmm, this some good lore. Is there any plans to cover the good aligned realms/pantheons?

@@Lorepaedia Ooh, I can't wait.
What is this enchanting music you use when creating these videos?
It's all copyright free stuff on youtube because anything else they send the drones after me. Most of it is the legendary Kevin Mcleod.

drow are one of those races you get to run, cause you likely know more about them than yor players

This is the standard stuff but then I NEVER would allow at my table because it is (Among other things) boring. Thanks! Yeah they should iron out some of the practical details of how their society works more imo.
Genuinely I just take RA's world as the truest cannon. From the drow to the kingdom of many arrows his world just makes the most sense.
