My teenage daughter took me to see FKA at The Fox in Oakland, CA on 11/6/19 . I snuck out before the show ended to buy the Magdalene vinyl record for her, and somehow unknowingly ended up to be the first in line for Twigs to sign the merch after the show! So, there I was suddenly face-to-face with Twigs and completely speechless. She was so sweet and she had this intense gaze that just says, “I see you”. My daughter and I still laugh about the experience and let me tell you...TWIGS WAS THE BEST F**KING SHOW I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE!!!!!! And I have been to tons of concerts at my ripe old age of 50. :-)

God, this just hit me so hard:
“When I realized that so many other women have gone through what I've gone through, unfortunately, which is that part of being a woman, that kind of free emotional labor that we put into all of our relationships, that unpaid work of nurturing, and it’s something that we’re just taught. I come from a generation where, as a woman, I was taught that ‘your Prince Charming would choose you, and when he did, you were grateful’. And it was more about you being chosen than what you need.”

Math was never my strong suit. I want to see her in concert, but I think I’m allowing my blindness to prevent that. I want to purchase tickets. I have mostly lint my pockets. one of three options. 1. Pay for a person to assist for that day (a PCA) personal care attendant to attend. 2. Going alone, trusting a Lyft driver, trusting strangers to (in many ways) guide me, trusting.... and hoping the visual aspects of the show won’t be completely lost to me. OR (non) option number 3. Stay home and sulk... lol This has been two of the hardest years of my existence - needed the reminder to push through.

Not usually a fan of Twig's kind of music (Abstract/Avant-garde etc), I liked Two weeks, but just hadn't really listened to her much. Then I listened to Magdalene and I was just blown away by how raw and visceral the songs are. Fallen angel...WOW just incredible. Cellophane, when that final booming 'Didn't I do it for you' is just INCREDIBLE. Sad day... so brilliant. Anyway, FKA Twigs has a brand new fan in me. A true artist. Her Joules Holland performance of Mary Magdalene was fucking amazing incredible- when she started her sword choreography, I was just blown away.

It was an absolutely incredible interview. I give kudos to Zane for creating a space and asking smart and riveting questions. He was thorough without invasive and twigs anchored in her identity, and I liked that she doesn't allow her words to be changed, which happens in the best interviews, her meaning is her meaning. Such a powerful young woman and all her experiences culminated to who she is now... EUSEXUA. To think I discovered FKA Tiwgs through her pole dancing videos, not music... and then to catch up her library, from then to now... her growth, talent, and creativity are untouchable. She is art.

What a beautiful person. So grateful for those true artists that give all they’ve got to make the world more beautiful even when it’s sad, and utterly evolutionary. Brilliant woman. really.

She is so beautiful in every way I am amazed that she is not more celebrated in UK 🇬🇧. She has changed the way artist present their music for people who wants a bit more than the ever day sounds. She is radiant, her skinny is glowing and her smile light up my heart. Not to mention her voice, I just love her

This interview is so interesting. It’s like a genuine conversation and not prepared rehearsed questions. He’s actually and intently listening to her and asking really introspective questions. I’ve never seen this interviewer before but I’m a fan! Loved how he was seemed really interested in Twigs! It was like their were having a private conversation and we were eavesdropping 😆🥰🥰🥰

I have a little granddaughter who isn’t even two years old yet. I will show her this interview when she can understand it, because this is a gr BBC eat example of what a young woman should be in this modern world, and how she should try to approach life and all of its ups and downs. I am really impressed with FKA Twigs, as an artist and as a person.

This album has put her up there with the likes of Thom Yorke & Bjork imo, who are 2 of my favourites. What a great album, what a great artist!

Everyday Man Fit yes!! I totally agree with those two, especially the magical Thom. Also, have you listened to Grimes - ‘so heavy I fell through the earth’ and Sevdaliza - any of her music and Moses Sumney ‘lonely world’, an invitation to hear other incredible, and possibly not as well known, artists?! 😊
