- Hey everyone. I wanted to be transparent as to why I have stopped promoting & supporting Alt Fragrances, after recommending their products over the past few months. I never want to lead you astray with the companies & products I recommend, so I hope this explanation helps clarify things.

Megan. Your coupon code wasn't shared on a third party site. THEY shared it to a large audience and people used it without your link. That allowed them a loophole to not pay you. They, excuse my language, fucked you over and lied. I'm so glad my cart is still full on their site. I was waiting to purchase with your code and just never got around to it. And I have half a mind to email them. But you're an adult and I don't think you'd appreciate us doing that on your behalf.
This is the kind of review I was looking for. I always research the companies before giving them money. With sooo many great companies out there, I def will shop around! Although I don’t know their side of the story, I don’t need to know their side when they clearly have bad business practices like not following up! That’s a red flag! And if it happens to you (an affiliate) imagine a customer!
I won't buy from them. So sick of these rip off companies thriving.

I just ordered some fragrances from them and they told me that I qualified for free shipping when I was ready to pay for my purchase they asked me to pay extra for shipping and I didn’t agree they also asked for a tip , I have never been asked for a tip online purchasing that was my first purchase. My order was shipped, I was told it was delivered and when I went to get my package at my door it wasn’t there and they say they are not responsible. I will never shop with them again.
The tip thing through me off too! Why would I tip a company that I'm ordering a perfume from??
They purposely messed up my order and I'm currently trying to get them to fix my order but they say it's against their company policy to refund customers.
I was going to get their fragrance that smelled like Tom Ford’s Bitter Peach. But I think I’ll write them a strongly worded email instead. So sorry they have not paid you. This is completely unfair. I hope you get all the money that you’re owed.

@Leslie Warren agreed! Myself included I just dont know how ALT hasn't been sued. Can you imagine being the larger company that pays for the celebrities name, and then another company comes out with dupes? You would be mad. I would be mad. For sure. All of us would be mad.

Any website that removes all negative reviews and comments from customers makes you wonder about their credibility. I recently placed two orders from them. Both times I was disappointed. Took way longer than promised to deliver. Once arrived 1 bottle sprayer was slightly unscrewed. The scents went through like 4 phases through out the day. No direct contact. Refund policy is a nightmare. Did I save money compared to original? Yes. Did I smell like I was wearing a knockoff after 3 hours, yes.
Being payed by a company to promote them isn't open and honest. You are paid to say they have a good product. Influencers need to go away.
“Influencers” are a plague to society. They are all entitled & arrogant.
I think influencing gives people an opportunity to run a business and an income supporting independently contracting. I think it's amazing. Helps the business AND the people supporting. A lot of influencers won't be an affiliate for products they don't support or use. Usually how that works. They are a customer first and then agree to be an affiliate. I love and support any independent contracting. I am a realtor and my husband does home repairs and Renovations. It gives people the financial freedom to make a liveable income. Why alt did this? I don't know of ot was a error that they shared her link but they should have just paid her and then gave her a new link.
Thank you, for being honest and loyal to your subscribers. I was very close to buying $100+ of fragrances from ALT. I won’t be supporting a company that seems shady and not trustworthy. If they can’t even pay you the money that you deserve, I don’t think they are any nicer to their customers. Thank you for being upfront with this. I am so glad I found your video!
I guess the question I need to know is did you give false reviews? Did you actually like their products? I understand that you are not making your money from ALT but you are still making money from views on your youtube channel. I am curious do you like their products or not? Is there any update at this point on your story?

I fell for a baccarat rouge and received it pretty quick only to be so disappointed the smell was so strong and had a heavy scent of alcohol and make calogne like gave me such a headache I quickly went to get a refund only to see they only do store credit I feel robbed…. Wish I would’ve read sooner I do not want to order anything from that site again. Now I have store credit just sitting there and I refuse to buy anything else because I still have to pay extra for shipping ect…😢
I was just looking for a review on their products and I was willing to buy from them and I found this video. I don't know you, but what they did to you means this is a company that doesn't deserve my money. I'm even deleting their link from my computer. Thank you and sorry for such an awful experience.

I honestly can't trust this company or take them seriously... They ALWAYS delete their negative reviews on their site/socials. I purchased 3 fragrances from them. All of them smelled great, but all three gave me an awful rash on my neck and arms. (I'm a huge lover of fragrances and I've NEVER gotten a rash from a perfume before... it's no coincidence that all 3 gave me rashes). I reached out to them and all they offered me was a coupon (which clearly I didn't want to use....). So I wrote a review on their sites, and all of my reviews were deleted within seconds.
I did notice that you went from talking about them quite frequently to not at all, but I would never have thought this was the reason why! Such a shame and I hope this doesn’t ruin your love of perfume. Vote with your dollar 💵. ❤️
That's ridiculous! We have tracking links but also the coupon codes that our customers can use. ALT was being very deceptive and you should not have had to follow up so much. That is so shady
It might be just me, but I personally find it in poor taste when influencers go on their platform and talk about their money or their lack of commission or anything related to their job and their money… I don’t support Atl anyways b/c I find them overpriced for a dupe company…but this isn’t necessary imo
It's poor taste to share with their followers about a company that they have been promoting is ripping them off? I think that it is poor taste to promise someone that they will get paid if they market their product and then proceed to pocket all the sales money then not pay the people as promised. Your moral compass is out of alignment my friend.
It’s totally necessary. If the company is dishonest how can we trust the product or customer service. Transparency is important and you shouldn’t want someone being done wrongly. What is wrong with you. I agree your moral compass is broken.
I think it's important for us to know. Because if a company is dishonest with an influencer working with them, they likely will be with their clients who buy their products as well. A dishonest company is a dishonest company.
If it was hard to get a straight answer (or any communication) when something was wrong, how well is that kind of company likely to treat its clients when they have issues with the products they bought?
I'd steer clear of a company like that and not buy from them. So it's important info to know, imo.
I also think it'd feel it would be a moral obligation to me to tell people if a company I had been promoting turned out to be dishonest.
If I had videos out their promoting the company, I'd feel an obligation to tell people I found out later they were not the kind of company I'd have chosen to promote had I known earlier...and why.
I'm so sorry the company is not doing their part. That is annoying and frustrating. I do hope they will owe up to their promise to you.
I’m so glad I haven’t made my purchase I was going to get from them a little while ago. I was going to buy like $100 worth of fragrances and use your code but now I’m glad I waited for a bigger paycheck Bc now I definitely won’t be buying from them at all. That’s so dumb! 😡
I'm going to call it like i see it, they used you and played you. If there were any stipulations about the use of the coupon code, the professional thing to do would be to communicate that to you so there's no confusion. You did absolutely nothing wrong. They never had any intention on paying you what they owed you, and the fact that the owner or some other higher authority of that company couldn't come to you directly and handle the situation shows how shady & disgusting they are. Suppose you were counting on that commission to pay your bills & feed yourself or your family?!?! That coupon sharing excuse is a total joke! I'm insulted for you that they even used that as an excuse not to pay you. The purpose of coupons codes is to be shared and increase sales. Your coupon code being shared on a coupon code site is way beyond your control and doesn't hurt their business or sales. It actually puts more money in their pockets because it's reaching a different demographic of people who faithfully use those sites. They never had any intention on paying you and just wanted to use you for your platform. I just started buying & promoting them on my fragrance page, but now I'm deleting everything affiliated with them.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I learned about ALT from a video from Kathleen Lights, and placed an order with them… but after your video, I have no interest in ever placing another one. These companies should realize the same way influencers bring business to them, they have the same influence in their followers deciding to no longer support them.
That’s complete garbage. So sorry to hear this has happened to you. Sucks when you genuinely recommend and support something and they turn around and show themselves. I am sure given your wonderful channel you will have many opportunities for more affiliates (just saw your patchology collab - omg!!!) hoping they still come around for you Megan 💕

I'm really sorry to hear this. I'm a super small creator and I found it difficult to find any transparency about brand collaborations -- it's tough because you don't know what to expect and we have a lot of hope when ones DO reach out. Thanks for sharing and I hope they decide to do better.

You should do Oakcha. They are amazing. I wont use Dossier because I have a ton of points and cant figure out how to use them. It stopped me from a huge purchase. I went to Oakcha instead and love them and their packaging
1s question, how do you even know you brought them $12,000? seriously? You couldn't possibly know that unless you SOME HOW had access to their bank account or access to how many people used your "CODE" which we all know companies don't share that info. I think you're just mad and bitter.
You can see how much people order from your code I think. If not she can always calculate how much they earned because you can see how much you would get. If you get 10% commission and I have sold to get 1000 dollars. You can know that 1000 dollars is 10% of 10k.
Wow this sucks. Even if they did find a loophole by sharing your code then taking away all the commission that in and of itself is so shady and unethical. I feel like this is such a downside of modern marketing and technology. It’s so easy for companies to take advantage of small creators. Did you sign a contract?? I would think that could help clarify some things.

Honestly after seeing this video I realized what you were talking about.. with lack of communication, I had purchased the crystal from them a couple months ago and received it it had no scent in it like literally smelled like burnt tires with no scent so I sent it back only to find out that I had to pay the shipping to get it back to Florida for them to then send me a new bottle in which I opened up yesterday with the exact same problem. I’m not sure what the deal is with them or that sent in particular but I could tell you I’m no longer going to be purchasing from that company at all there are so many other websites that treat people well 🙌🏻
Something that I've noticed is that they have a place to tip, when you go to check out. Why would you tip a fragrance company?
I am dealing with the same…..that crystal is horrible. Look at the first two ingredients…..alcohol, water and then it says fragrance. Bull crap product.

Ok so they're shady boots and I DO NOT reward sheisty piss poor behavior. This means I will never do business with them and I'll be sure to encourage my friends, relatives, neighbors, and subscribers (on a diff channel where my reach is much larger) NOT to do business with them either. I have a pathological hatred for bullies or anyone inna position of power shitting on the little guy and that's exactly what happened here. Hit em where it hurts. Their pocket. This video got 30K views and I hope at least half of that listened and decided to take their business elsewhere. Teach em a lesson.
So basically you peddled and endorsed their fragrances to make a paycheck.... Which means you weren't honest in your reviews. I don't feel sorry for you.
I’m not a fan of this company. I ordered a full sample box for $58 and like 4 of them exploded in the box due to the heat here in CA. Literally bc they packaged it so poorly, it all exploded and three bottles were half full, one was completely empty - for $58. Due to the heat, I sent and email “Please refund me.” I didn’t want it to happen again and it was likely to do so. They responded saying they would send me a replacement, then one minute after I got the email, I got an email with a disclaimer that said that “Courier mishandling is not their liability.” SUS AF. So I responded back and asked if due to the heat, they would be willing to refund me. Nope. Let’s hope the next one is not exploded. But piss-poor customer service.

I wonder if they had changed their management or owner because I had ordered from them before and it was such a pleasant experience then a year later I've decided to order more and so far it's been a disaster my order was lost and they promised to replaced but I didn't even receive the replacement or any shipping confirmation about it then I ask for my money back and the answer was they only do store credit!!! Live and learn I would never order again or recommend them to anyone

I believe you that you didn’t share the code and the way the company handled it was totally crappy. I heard they are suing another influencer for slander. Do you think that your follower count alone sold that many bottles? Assuming only a fraction uses that code.
It sucks what's happened, but this is a brutal video. Just so I'm clear, you review their product and praise it which in turn you get a kick back for referrals. But now they aren't paying you so now it's a terrible company?!? You're butt hurt, I get it. But this is an issue between you (as an associate) and the company and has no bearing on whether the PRODUCT its self is worth it. No offence, but your integrity is a little at jeopardy now.
ALT has the absolute worst customer service. I had to file a dispute with my bank. They’re dishonest.

Most influencers I follow say to click on the link below and use their coupon code. Sounds like they weren’t clear with their instructions to you. I buy the original fragrances even if they are expensive. I don’t want to support companies copying already successful fragrances because they lack creativity to create their own. I’ll never buy anything from them. Sorry this happened to you.

No she clearly states “she signed up for their affiliate program after hearing about their fragrances from another user” doesn’t like they reached out to her at all. Sounds like she went and signed up on her own then this happened.
I was going to do frag reviews but at this point everyone and their grandma is one, so being non conformist I don't think I will now, I'll stay with my original music channel (not linked to this controversial one lol). I just found them tonight but won't do business with filthy greedy ppl.....Thanks for your honesty though you could have stopped after 8-9 mins.

I feel like I’ve been scammed. IK I ordered a 60ml of their perfume White Sun which is meant to be an imitation of TF Soliel Blanc but I pictured 60ml to be a bigger bottle then what I actually received. I think I wasted $49 USD.
So you order a 60ml bottle, RECEIVE a 60ml bottle and since it “doesn’t look as big as you thought” you feel like you got scammed? How dumb are you?

To clarify the only payments not made to you were ones that resulted from the use of your discount code on a third party coupon sharing website.
All sales that were made using your link was shared on has been paid out to your Paypal account!
We hope this issue has been made clear and addressed so there is no confusion as to us not making good on orders that we’re fairly brought in from you as an affiliate of our brand!

If I get a discount code from a RUclips influencer I don’t always use it right away. I’ll sometimes go straight to the sellers website at a later time and use the code. I have a growing collection of +90 bottles including three ALT fragrances. After watching what you did to someone that got you so much sales is unfortunate, I will do my part by never buying an ALT fragrance again. And one thing ALT must realize is that most people that purchase a lot of fragrances will not buy unless they get some sort of discount, be it through coupon codes or sales. If I don’t get a coupon I will wait until I get some kind of a sale, so it shouldn’t matter to ALT where I get my code from as long as I’m buying. Just pay the girl.
You guys should still pay for her coupon code though because many of us don't use the link thinking we could just go to the site directly and once we're ready to make a purchase (which is usually not the same day), we'll use that coupon code thinking an influencer would be compensated. I literally have $130+ in my cart right now but I'll have to pass. Shady practices like this turns me off.
Nope..just nope. I never would have heard about ALT were it not for RUclips. And probably 90% of the people that buy from you came from RUclips, and to a lesser degree Reddit. You should NEVER EVER get yourself ANY kind of bad publicity, and do whatever you can to make your affiliates AND customers happy. It only takes a couple of videos like this to CANCEL YOU. There ARE other dupe places to go (Dossier, Oakcha).
This was a small amount of money in the grand scheme of things. Penny-wise pound foolish.
I was going to place an order but so glad I came across this video. You have no morals and are thieves! I will make sure to deter family and friends from ever purchasing from you.
