Thanks for the nice idea. Just thinking a little bit. You might be able to make some type of wall bracket or base to hold your rod caddy for rod storage in your garage. Just leave your rods in the caddy and install in a wall bracket or base unit you build until you need it the next time. You could make several of these for different types of fishing and then be able to just pick the rod caddy you need with all your favorite rods ready to go. John
@@FishinNStuff how i get stickers from you bro...your awesome dude...i have made so much stuff from your channel...good times in the garage with the kids helping me build
Could always glue a little felt inside holes after sanding edges for smoothness on rods. Also curve the rod cutouts so they wont slip out of hooks. 😉 Nice project! 👍
Man you are the best RUclips has going. Great build go ahead and make me 2 that hold 6 rods each I'll drop by sat and pick them up. Great video BROTHER. Keep them coming
I have to say, this caddy idea could be pretty handy! Maybe some swim noodle could be used inside the slots to completely cushion the rod and line.... And maybe useful to anchor a hook or lure from getting tangled, too!
Man what a great idea! Il be building of these for sure. Maybe il try to make it attach to the tackle box so i can carry tackle box and rods in 1 hand. Thanks for the video.
Just made my own, turned out good. I went ahead and put the front rod cutouts up at a 45 degree angle. I haven't added the bungee cords yet, but will. I think I'm going to also add a French cleat to the back side so it can hang on the wall.
GREAT Idea ! Thanks for sharing this, i was going to Bass Pro tomorrow after work and buy a rod caddy. But now ill be visiting my lumber shed. Thanks again
Glad to see a new video, it felt like you had been gone awhile since the last. Awesome job on this one. One thing I like about your style is that you demonstrate the principles needed to achieve your goal, but leave the details flexible enough to inspire other ways of doing it based on our skills, needs, and materials available. Ta-day, was a good day. 😎
Of course one of your videos would pop up when I'm building a 4 rod holder that can transfer from the bank to the boat. You always get the wheels turning.
Only thing I would suggest would to be to add a third plate on the bottom as a stopper plate. This way the holder does not allow the poles to slide down if the holder is pitched upward or you could stack it upright and use it as a upright holder as well.
THAT was pretty awesome looking!! Been trying to come up with a way to house 12 rods at one time and I think you just gave me an idea of how I can!!! Thanks brother!!!
i made one almost identical to this last year. I used a roundover bit on my router to smooth the inside and outside edges and pocket holes to attach the handle. Its a super useful and easy/cheap build. The black looks sharp!
I don't know how I'm just seeing this now! But glad I did going to make 1 or 2 this weekend. I have some leftover pvc board so might as well give it a try 👍 thanks for the awesome videos! I also have a build idea for ya! My son loves fishing and he rides his bike with his friends to different fishing spots. So what about a bicycle rod caddy!! 💡
Great project!! I would caution against the pine board construction as the parts of the caddy that have narrow areas of horizontal grain can snap off pretty easily if accidentally bumped against something. I'd go with either ply wood or one of those plastic cutting board construction options. Thanks for sharing!
I built a rod caddy a 8 years ago when my wife and I was fishing off Armstrong bridge in Tennessee. Made it to hold 6 spinning reels. Plus lantern fule out of 1/2" wood it was bout 3' long. It was heavy so I added a strap to it. like yous better thank the lord I don't have to have one now. I did build a vertical rod rack for my deck boat that works great..
I was putting fiberglass marking rods by my driveway today to show the snow removal guy where to plow this winter. These rods are about the same diameter as a fiberglass bowfishing arrow. I thought they might make really nice inexpensive fish arrows. Each rod cost $2.
What is that accent?? I’m from Australia. The way you speak is intoxicatingly amazing. I primarily watch your videos to hear you spittin out phrases. So bloody good mate! Love your work
This is pretty good. Yes we really like simple and cheap is always good. I hope we get to have the Catfish Conference in 2021, but it is not looking very good right at this moment. Stay safe and be blessed
Oh I’m doing this with the cutting boards. I struggle every time I carry my four heavy catfish rods. I’m always looking for easier ways to carry my gear to my spot and this will help me tremendously!
It's like when you put concentrated coolant in your car from freezing in the winter it doesn't freeze as well on bearings or in a real most of the places
As always, simple and easy, thanks! Suggestion: Why not making that out of pvc pipes and fittings? 🙄🤓... I'm sure you can come up with something easier and perhaps lighter!
If you’re looking for plastic cutting boards go to Sams. Go to the restaurant tool department. Great white plastic ones about 18x22”, 5/16” thick all for $9. Handy, handy stuff. Check it out.
I made one today come in very handy. Now my grandkids can carry the fishing pole’s. And they travel better in the truck too. Thank you Awesome video.
Next weekend project with my kids. Thanks buddy. Awesome 👍. They can carry there own rigs. 😄. Happy Dad
😁
I always click 👍 first even before watching the video.
1. I know you going to build something awesome.
2. I love your awesome personality.
Thank you i really appreciate that , I do the same thing when I'm watching videos lol
Thanks for the nice idea.

You can . I seen some like that
You are the DOCTOR when it comes to DIY'S . Awesome job.
Thank you Sir
What a great, and practically free, project! Can't get much cheaper than stuff just hanging around from other projects.
I agree :)
Great idea. The only change I would make, is add a drink holder for your beverage of choice.
That's a good idea

You could also angle the rod cutouts at a 45...that would work too.
Man you are one slick fabricator. You impress me every video.
Thank you

Totally awesome. Very good job, very talented. Thanks for showing.
Another awesome project. You could glue some rubber, or felt into the holes/groves to help out with no abrasion. Love you videos!
That's a great idea
Love this idea!!!!.... starting build with a couple mods
Thanks for the awesome video! I'm building one of those for sure!!!!!

Very neat and clean, like the way you built it.
Thank you for the video. I have been wanting to build one of these for years.

that is a great diy brother.... thhat will be a new build for pond excursions. awesome build looks sweet

This is a nice one. I'll have to add it to my winter To-Do list. maybe experiment with the rod stand version.
THAT was pretty awesome looking!! Been trying to come up with a way to house 12 rods at one time and I think you just gave me an idea of how I can!!! Thanks brother!!!
That was a great build....
That's nice. Might try painting the cut outs with plasti-dip to make sure the wood never touches your line.
That's a good idea
Another great video keep them coming I have tried all but 2 of the diys there so helpful thank you
That’s awesome! I have been wanting to build a rod caddy but didn’t know how i wanted to do it. You solved that issue for me. Thanks
You done real good. I like it. Gonna have to make me one now

Awesome I would like to see you do more stuff with wood
I have a rod caddy that I bought at a yard sale years ago and it holds like 4 rods and it also hangs by the handle on the wall .
Way to go my friend. Another fantastic video.
Awesome build!!!
Might think about plastic dip brushed on the front holder not only to save your line but would also protect the rod it self from the wood
That's a good idea ,

4 catfish rods are you on a boat?
Oh no. I line the bank. We are fortunate enough to own land on the river here where we live
Different States have Different laws
@@westwardbound2352 i usually go with 2 rods when i bank fish and a spare in the truck just incase .
This is great!....Thank you!
I like it. Now gotta learn how to fish 😂
Another great video keep it up!
You can put concentrated coolant on your bearings in your reel and on your rod eyes so they don't freeze up while winter fishing
That's interesting 🤔
It's like when you put concentrated coolant in your car from freezing in the winter it doesn't freeze as well on bearings or in a real most of the places
I live over in West Texas and it never snows here the most wenter we get is sleet
As always, simple and easy, thanks!

I'll try
Cool.gone have to make one of those

Nice job !!1 Need those tools

Awesome cheers
Great idea mate, going to make one this weekend once my son finishes kicken my arse at paint ball 🥵
Lol
You could put felt in there or get some rubberized paint then not have to worry
I am definitely going to build me one of these if not more lol
Lol
Been thinking about making one of these but I think I'll glue slotted pool noodle in the opening to hold the rods in place
That should work great
Very nice 👍..
Sweet !
Awesome build. Can you fabricate a cheap kayak loader? Which allows for kayak to easy load on top of a SUV or Van.
Don't know , I'll look into it
