One of the most influential albums of not the most influential album in pop culture history. Fun fact: Rubber Soul is the first album by any recording artist to not actually have the name of the artist on the cover…it just simply said Rubber Soul along with their faces by which everyone in the world would recognize by then in 1965….Beautiful reaction as always!

Rubber Soul is a great album there´s no fillers at all. It was released December 1965 and the previous album Help in August the very same year just four months between them. It´s absolutely unbelieveable.

Further to what Debbie Chang said, I saw a documentary with Paul two nights ago in which he talked about pretending to be this French guy at parties he went to with John. He then said that later, once The Beatles were having success and such John told him one day that he should finish up "that Michelle" song, and so he did! The rest is magic!!

Great song Michelle, very soft melody of all the times. I like it.
Paul used to pretend to be a French guy at parties. He thought it would help him attract girls 😂 That was obviously in his younger days, before he was literally one of the most sought after men in the world! He called himself “Paul Ramon” (pronounced, of course, with a heavy French accent 😂) and tried to act very cool! Great song. He even sang it to Michelle Obama in person at the White House (with permission from the president)! Love your reactions.

To further confuse things, there was a record producer very active thru the ‘70s & ‘80s named Phil Ramone. He had nothing whatsoever to do with Paul or The Ramones. Lol.

When George Harrison was informed that Paul and George Martin had written the notes for the guitar solo, he was none to pleased. When THIS song came out, my big bro bought the lp, and I wound up making him sick of the tune, as I'd sing it all day long... I don't know exactly WHY this particular song had that impact on 12 yr old me, but I couldn't stop singing it for months!
While listening to this reaction I wondered, WHY CALL THIS ALBUM "RUBBER SOUL"??? Quote: "The title derives from the colloquialism "plastic soul" and was the Beatles' way of acknowledging their lack of authenticity compared to the African-American soul artists they admired [and covered in their earlier albums!]. After A Hard Day's Night in 1964, Rubber Soul was only the second Beatles LP to contain only original material.
