Hexavalent Chromium Safety

Chromium 3 or 4 are fairly safe, chromium 6 is a whole different story, the sucker is worst contaminant than mercury(Hg) or lead(Pb)... Chromic acid is a type of hexavalent chromium btw. Avoid at all cost.

Bottom line, if you do not wear a respirator welding this material, your bringing it into your body. Hex Chrome is dangerous!

Yup, it's cancer causing. I remind welders all the time when welding SS.
