We NEED a place like this in the US. It would be sensory overload for me if I get the chance to go there. Much easier to shop at a brick and mortar store so you can see the stuff in person and try things on. I need to make a trip to Manchester. You all are awesome for sharing this with us! 🦇🦇🕸️
You are so right! We definitely need places like this in the US especially in Texas, but it definitely gives me yet another reason to go to Manchester 🖤
I listened to your gothic playlist, and now I have a lot of songs from Rosetta stone and siouxsie and the banshees. Sisters of mercy are also awesome. Overall, I'm glad I decided to listen to them. I've always enjoyed the older music, and when it comes to goth music, it's no exception, hahaha.
You two would love Mexico City. It has so many gothic and alt boutiques, clubs, cafes and of course the long-standing and historic alternative market El Chopo. Great video! Cheers
It's got more expensive as the rents are now much higher. Some indie stalls come and go quite quickly which is a shame when they are new designers with quite unique looking stuff. I live in Manchester and am really glad it's there but it is so different to how it was in the 80's. Some shops have lasted for years though and it is a great place to buy posters, band tee's ect.
Awwww my favorite goth couple. I’ve been gone and coming back to see you guys doing the most coolest stuff. I would love to be there. I would be so broke by the time I left! Thanks for this video 🖤
I would comparison shop. I would look for specific items at the various stores, and find the least expensive and buy it. I do that all the time. Sometimes I find something cheaper but similar that I like better. There would be so much to choose from in there. But that's part of the fun of shopping. (Jan Griffiths).
It's great to see you in Afflecks. I remember the first time my mum took me, I was 11 just had an operation and my head encased in bandages. To cheer me up mum took me to Afflecks and I fell in love with the place. Believe it or not it used to be better than it is now there was a big emo/goth shop called Soho's and I remember buying criminal damage skinny jeans from there (the ones with skelly hands on the back pockets). So many fantastic shops have come and gone. My parents were part of the alt scene way back when, Manchester used to have more alt markets like Afflecks. There was one underground, the corn exchange/triangle also used to be all alternative and handmade.
Really enjoyed your guide to Affleck palace was so nice to see it again need to go back for another shopping trip. Nearly chocked when you started singing disturbed down with the sickness to a Korn hoody defo 2 different bands but funny as hell bless ya 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Been NEEDING to go Affelcks since I was a wee emo in highschool. Finally getting to go as a 21 year old tomorrow haha - very excited!! Hope you guys had fun
Yeah you find more niche things and more variety in a place like this. And Manchester also has damaged Society too which is basically hot topic so beat of both worlds. We would kill for literally ANYTHING in Ireland 😭
Might have to check that place out later this year possibly as I should be moving to New Castle so it would be easier to get to Manchester than from where I currently live in the Midlands
loved the video guys , i'm fortunate enough to live between manchester and liverpool so alt shopping was always great back in the day , unfortunately liverpoools equivalent grand central is gone and whats left in the town isnt that good , manchester is defiantly a bastion of alt shopping for the northwest :D
You guys should come to Whitby in October for the Goth weekend and visit the markets. Also check out a new Goth retailer in the UK called Dark N Twisted. They do a lot of the alt markets in like Leeds, Whitby and Glasgow
Flew in from Australia to visit and I loved afflecks but there wasn't any cure or bauhaus tshirts/jumpers in fatboy size. Ended up finding a few pins and patches though.
That's an awesome place. Next time I travel to UK I must tell my Trevor to take me there. We always fly to Manchester when we travel from Sweden. Stay safe both 🦇🖤🖤🖤🖤🦇
There was a royal blue and black striped jumper in the video I really want. Timestamp 7:42. At Elysia. I love royal blue and black together, and have a couple of shirts and a pair of tights like that. (Jan Griffiths).
The closest thing I've got to a band merch shop is in Romford and the shop "Rage" but it would be awesome to have something similar down here around London 🖤
Hi Guys, That's so cool, I absolutely enjoyed seeing the Epic and Gothic clothing, The Jewellery is my favourite part of the video, I absolutely love the chains and necklaces, I use to have one ear ring but I ended up with an ear infection and I had to get rid of it which was a bummer. Oh well, never mind. Thank you again for another Awesome video, I don't know but I believe we used to have something like this where I'm from which is Australia but I don't think we have the alternative shops any more or they are located else where in Australia. Have an epic day today guys and Happy Halloween. 😊😊
It's ages (literally a few years) since I last went to Affleck's and it looks like they've expanded some since the last time I was there! I'll add a revisit to my to do list. On another note, I don't know if either of you knit or crochet (it's not just an old biddie's or female-only pass-time any more and is becoming popular for blokes too), but Countess Ablaze is also in Manchester - and her yarns are awesome!
I wish we had something like that here in the States. I need to go to a place like that. I saw so many items in the video I'd love to have. Thank you for the tour. I really enjoyed it. (Jan Griffiths).
Love Affleck's been here twice, a year ago and back in 2017. We nearly moved from Bristol to Manchester 7 years ago but ended up in Cardiff. Camden's been crap for 15 years, Whitby has some Goth shops but the weekend itself is crap now. Glastonbury town in Somerset had a few alternative shops but sadly closed down. This is what I miss about the 2000's there was more shops and more reason to go out and do things, visit other places. Internet shopping is shit. Same with Goth clubs, it's only the large cities with clubs now and only one if your lucky.
The footage on our USB got deleted so we have to re make it and add more on! We are off to Germany soon so this won’t be up until around late September! Thank you 🖤✨🦇🩸
The inverted cross rosary bead necklace thingie was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! 🤔😎🤘🏻 Dear Conor, Is the long fingernails real natural or acrylic? Couldn't help but notice because I've been doing My nails stiletto since I was 14/15 years old in high school. I'm in My late forties now. 😁👍🏻
Afflecks is one of my fave places to go when I head to town. Love getting my hair done their and jewellery although (maybe I'm not looking hard enough) but their clothes don't seem that size-inclusive which means I have to resort to online shopping which isn't the best for the environment 😢
We've been using a Rode Video Mic Pro. Which is a great mic. But for situations like this where there's lots of loud surrounding noise there's no ideal solution. However we recently got the rode wireless go 2 for our interview videos. Gonna try them out in a future vlog and see if that helps reduce outside noise

I’ve looked it up and I’m 40 minutes away! When I can drive this is the first place I’m hitting up! After the McDonalds drive thru of course.

I need to visit this market at least one single time in my life! Love to see you guys at this wonderful place! 🖤🦇
