This is excellent information and I hope everyone in the East will familiarize their Officers. I have many thoughts on the EA opening but for this comment I will speak my mind on the Tiler's duties. I have sadly heard many (even Worshipful) Brothers belittle or overlook the Office of Tiler as unimportant or "easy", and I think this is a fundamental misunderstanding and leads to disharmony in the Lodge. Every Tiler should be informed that the Brother's physical safety is in their hands, and not just symbolically. If there were an emergency and the building needed to evacuate, it is his duty to sound the first alarm and see to the safety of all therein. My Lodge has had real actual Cowans show up and try to gain entry, and it is the Tiler's duty to see them off. I hope my Brothers in the East will let their Tilers know the importance and value of their role.
@sebring2756 ANYTHING in Masonic ritual can be discussed openly except for the secrets....and the secrets are merely the sign, grip and word of the Degree being worked. The ritual itself is not secret.
