The secondary tragedy to all of this is that Chris, as far as canon goes, will never learn about Bernie's death or how she played a part in it. In the aftermath of the war, she'll write to Al asking to see them both again. UC Gundam still has plenty of shows that are excellent - personal favorite is going to be Unicorn because it feels like a love letter for fans who grew up with the first half of the UC-century shows.
And so we've arrived. The ending of 0080 is one of the most tragic in all of Gundam(and imo in all of anime in general), and it's incredible how they were able to make the audience so attached to a cast of characters in so little time. And you're totally right about this being a great gateway show for non-Gundam fans, it's always my go-to recommendation for people who don't really care for mecha. As for your question on whether Gundam is all downhill from here: absolutely not. While War in the Pocket is my favorite series personally, there is plenty of peak content to come that I think you're gonna love. Anyway, looking forward to what's next!
came here bc i needed a shot of bernie from your other video JUST reacting to his tape, and i was curious how you handled it after that one cut off. safe to say you took it as well as me, love this show so much honestly
I know I'm late, but what a ride man... With your chronological streak, I think it's fair to say next up would be yeh, doing the 2 "Gundam Thunderbolt" movies "December Sky & Bandit Flower". Both movies are an hour or so long; December Sky has a "cut-up" episodic version which came first, but the movie version is a better continual watching experience. And maybe "Gundam MS Igloo 1 & 2" (Note this one is a CGI show, but I'd say they are good for the time and still hold up in a way). They're more so One Year War content before you definitively dive into the in-universe UC 0080s onwards. Bandit Flower being the exception🤐🤐 The lighest info I can give so you don't get confused is... both shows I mentioned are independent from one another and can stand alone. You already know the setting of the world through OG Gundam so you're gucci After that you have, "Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory", as the name implies is actually set in 0083 lol
I'm not sure if anyone has said this yet, or if you've already finished Thunderbolt II by the time this video was uploaded, but Thunderbolt is like Origin in that it takes place in a slightly different continuity from the normal original UC timeline where some things don't really add up, like how advanced the technology is and stuff like that. The section of the manga the movies adapt isn't that outlandish, but further on it becomes clear that it's something completely different that's not really meant to slot into the original story very well. It's also not a completed story or anything, much like some other Gundam projects that are currently ongoing, so I would personally skip it until later, though obviously I'd respect anyone's choice to watch stuff in whatever order they want.
Origin and Thunderbolt are very canon in this UC timeline. They made it slightly different from the manga so it can fit perfectly with the story. If you pay close attention to Origin the ending of the OVA place perfectly so people can go straight into MSG series or the movie trilogy. Thunderbolt manga is not finished and it's more story to tell but the ended just fit.
@NeedSitRep Exactly.... The creator stated that The Origins mainly fit in the remastered MSG Movie Trilogy with newer voice actors and dialogue. But watching the prequels first makes it much more heartbreaking to see Char betraying in his best friend Grama who really actually saw him as a brother.
Because he can....Let this man do what he wants to do on his own channel. You can feel free to watch if this bothered or offended you. Most people don't like to read subtitles because they're afraid they might miss the story. And so far the dubbed MSG UC timeline are amazing.
@@HaulinOats315 Well, , 08th and 0080 dubs are pretty OK, but it is kind of criminal to watch MSG, Zeta and Char's Counterattack in anything else than the sub. The Japanese VA's are legendary even today for a reason (although I wish Furuya had the decency to not get himself (rightfully) cancelled in the last stretches of his career)
