Ransom is great with a truly sinister Gary Sinise. Set it Off, I'm sure is great and has been on my watchlist for about a decade so I actually need to watch it at some point.
"Mad Dog Time starts out with the information that it takes place in a parallel world on the other side of the universe. That's not far enough away for me." Perfect review. That's all you really need to know, isn't it?
I love these guys. I remember their show very well. They are enjoyable to watch. A great duo. In re-watching the show decades later, I appreciate them all the more. Much love and respect for these two professionals. 💗
Ransom is a decent film but the 1950s counterpart is superior is because you never see the kidnappers and a result, the viewer feels the agony of what the parents are going through.
I'm in the middle about Set It Off. They are both right, Siskel on its lack of plausibility and Ebert on the empathic characters. It was okay, something I can still enjoy regardless.
Bro y'all they women from the hood, they suppose to turn into Ocean 11 smh they AMETEURS lol they not suppose to be real robbers they back against wall they have no choice smh Siskel was trippin
I think Ebert was wrong to reveal Sinese was part of the kidnapping crew. That reveal doesn't happen until well after the abduction. I recall the gasps from the audience when they realized he was a partner in the scheme. This review ruined it for anyone watching the show before the movie.
I was thinking the same thing. The audience, including myself and my family, were all surprised to find out Sinise was the mastermind. Mostly because he had never played a villain before and also because the trailers did a great job of not showing Sinise much.
I liked Mother Night, but then again, I was familiar with the novel. Its message is simple. "Be careful what you pretend to be, because in the end, you *are* what you pretend to be."
I liked Ransom. I saw it at the theater when it was new, and when they showed the video of the bound and blindfolded child, the whole audience gasped audibly in horror.
This review actually inspired me to watch MAD DOG TIME on Tubi a few months ago when I had some free time. I wanted to see if it was as bad as S&E said. It was. It's an absolutely awful movie that doesn't work on any level and has nothing of value in it.
Blair underwood was able to be in a role here where he could display a little more of his skill and range as an actor .He had to be cookie cutter as an attorney on LA LAW (television series)....
My reviews: out of 5 1 " Ransom " 3.5 out of 5 👍 2 " Set it Off " 2 out of 5 👎 3 " Mad Dog Time " 2 out of 5 👎 4 " Mother Night " 2 out of 5 👎 5 " The Funeral " 3 out of 5 👍
Both Ransom & Set it Off were great crime thrillers from 96 in my opinion!
I agree👍👌✌
100% . You’re totally right.
Set It Off does not get the great praise it deserves

Set it off is a great movie
"What, do you like how the bricks fell?"
VICIOUS! 😂
Yo, keep it up. I love these.

This channel is amazing. Thank you for this niche time capsule.

Black female version of Point Break. Still prefer Point Break

I laughed so hard in Ransom when he said *Do you know anyone that won't turn you over for a million dollars??*

@@HILAL19564 one of the best gangster movies AND films!

I LOVE The Funeral, it’s one of my ABSOLUTE...FAVORITES!
I liked Mother Night, but then again, I was familiar with the novel. Its message is simple. "Be careful what you pretend to be, because in the end, you *are* what you pretend to be."
The Funeral is possibly the best movie by Abel Ferrara. A sincere, tough and wise portrait of the mafia
Mad Dog Time | Trigger Happy | My favourite Movie
Ransom is a film about a kidnapping, of course at some point there's gonna be a scene of a kid in peril.
Siskel never misses a chance to bitch about a kid in danger.
Siskel Set it Off review was horrible man them women trying to rob a bank its suppose to be sloppy smh he was tripping
I liked Ransom. I saw it at the theater when it was new, and when they showed the video of the bound and blindfolded child, the whole audience gasped audibly in horror.
Yeah that is shocking. It was like Ron Howard going, "No, wait. I can go there if I have to."

You're being much too kind. It is the worst movie I have seen in my entire life.
I've read Ebert's review a few times. I also watched the trailer. I was brave enough to do more than this. @@spencer10182

It was a good movie
What's wrong with it
@@BRIANOCONNOR2003 the love story was kind of sad. They didn't end up together - they had that phone call at the end.
