Just finished watching the 4th part of the series, some wicked footage there real exciting to watch! Goes to show that the Bluewater diving in the tropics isn’t as easy as it looks, even for experienced spearos. Being from NZ the islands are on our back door step so we dive there fairly regularly, and it’s one of those things you learn more and more each trip. Really challenging but really rewarding when you start to work out the ins and outs of hunting the pelagics
The slip tip didn’t penetrate anything vital. It entered the gill plate and toggled back through the gill plate because of the angle. With that said we noticed dogtooth tuna would show up during the struggle whenever we speared a reef fish. So I decided to let this one live and see if a doggie was coming by to check out that trout.
@@CJDuffie22 hey man I get the nuance of the situation but I don't think it's a good idea to put "catch and release spearfishing" out into the RUclips video sphere. Some numpty will no doubt get the wrong idea
Solid mu! Wild how you still ended up landing that. But yeah, Why spear and release that trout/grouper fish? Kinda messed up unless it’s an invasive species.

Hunting in blue water is such an interesting nuance. Looks like it should be very easy, but there’s a lot of technique that goes into it.
Awesome spearfishing session.
That shark sequence was insane 😭😭😭
I agree 😅 we cut out a lot of it.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Thank you!
What a dream spearing trip
Nothing more aggravating than NO BACK UP
Spear and release? That seens pretty fucked man

Videos are awesome, CJ!
Sick video!!! Great dive!
Mate spear and release ?
Don’t shoot it if you don’t eat or use it in my opinion 👎🏼

We were trying out using a hurt fish to call in a doggie. They would always seem to show up when we shot something and a lot of thrashing took place.
Are you guys eating coral trout or do they have too much cig over there? I got worked by a Moses perch in Fiji.
Unfortunately we were not. We were using them for chum when looking for wahoos and doggies.
