I’ll do the underworld saga after a bit
Gonna take a small break then start, because I’ve been procrastinating on something irl for a couple months now.
Also if you sometimes see the base colors bring more vibrant in certain frames, it’s because I exported some as PNG image and others as video, so they colors changed a bit.
Also I actually considered having Odysseus being more tempted by Circe’s seduction, but then I forgot 🤷
I did not make a Poseidon outfit yet, that’s why he looks like that (bad).
I love how in the end Odysseus is like: "Hey Eurylochus, I befriended the witch who turned our men to pigs and now she's helping us get home"

I like to think her lyric, “or maybe the world will need a puppeteer MOOORE” implies that soon Odysseus will be pulling the strings like a witch (embodying everything he didn’t want to become)

Love the detail of Odysseus reaching for his sword because let’s be real “I’ll get you to the Underworld instead” does sound super ominous 😂

I love that Circe and Odysseus's tango roles are flipped, with Odysseus taking on the "feminine" role and Circe the more "aggressive, masculine" role. That chin stroke!
I agree, it makes him seem more resistant to her tempting as well, shying away because he knew that a moment of temptation with some goddess couldn't compare to how desperately he missed his loving wife. It also gives Circe more of an authoritative vibe, but makes when she backs off all the more powerful. She can recall past feelings of love she once had (that may or may not have been sullied) and wanted him to remain in that state of infatuated love rather than end up like her, respecting that he was willing to risk everything to get back home.

The Greeks didn’t define sexuality like we do. Rather than having homosexual, bisexual (and similar) and heterosexual, they had top and bottom. Not even kidding. Gender roles largely stemmed from that.
@@Anonyomus_commenter that’s similar to some tribes, what with them having masculine and feminine roles but either gender could fill those roles, as it was more dependent on how the person carried themselves and if they had the physical capabilities to do the task. They also have people who will take over duties if someone of the same type falls “out of commission” (ie. babysitting the children, taking over on hunting missions cuz someone of the main hunting party got injured, that kinda thing). This is where the term “it takes a village to raise a child” as children were universally looked out for by other tribe members. I’m not sure about their physical relationships tho, as I was sure most of the time their partners were arranged.
Greek history is pretty interesting tho because their sexuality was more fluid than people realize, to the point that even multiple people would get with each other especially during celebrations. Obviously this wasn’t the case for everyone, but it wasn’t as unsurprising or taboo if people did it as it is now.
I like the little detail of Odysseus reaching for his sword when Circe says she can send him to the Underworld. Don't worry buddy, she doesn't plan to do it the conventional way.

One thing I don't see anyone talk about that I LOVE is when she does her little dance at the end, but then immediately when she sings about "Maybe one day the world will need a puppeteer no more", she just unceremoniously sits down in that universal "I'm so tired..." kind of way. Every bit of this was amazing but that always caught me in this one.
Him originally taking "to the underworld instead" as a threat makes so much sense and adds yet another layer to the scene, well done!

I LOVE this. It's not often you see a full-lenght animatic for The Are Other ways. I think your animatics are getting more animated and expressive, and you're spoling us with only three weeks after the last animatic. I loved all the faces and I think my favorite part was 2:10-2:22, and I loved how you made oddysseous freak out with the "I'll get you to the underworld insteeeead". Good job man.
I think this is my favorite depiction by far, it shows a lot of emotion and I can appreciate Circe being an aggressor for the seduction, showing her power.
