Reality is more entertaining than fiction, which is why this is so funny. Perna has been slowly losing his sanity for almost 5 years now.
The Broncos jokes almost write themselfs. "Last week I had hope" - "You do not have to worry about it this week."

This is why you never question the script writer when they give you a heart wrenching role. If you execute it to perfection and then tell them you don't like it, they'll give you the worst and more horrible role right afterwards.

The Panthers character tried to make it, but his car was towed away for mechanical problems. The issue was later listed as “too many false starts”

The writing for this season is top notch. I didn’t think you could squeeze so many amazing storylines from the Tragedy of the Broncos, and that Cardinals Cowboys script… just absolute perfection.

As a dolphin fan, I was upset for about 30 seconds and then chose to focus on the fact that we actually dropped 70 whole points.
they would've needed more than 3 for that. But it's fun that the whole Internet seems to run with the fact while the record was at 73 anyway

A field goal would not have set the record for most points in a game by 1 team, it would have tied the record.

I still recall in the 1980s and 1990s when a team who clearly was going to win the game would be pulling their starters and throwing the backups, i.e. put the backup QB to start the 4th if the lead was big. That changed starting the 2000s and starters were kept in like the QB to keep piling the stats up.
This Broncos - 'Fins game, with Miami up 56 to Denver's 13 and about 9 minutes left in the 4th, the Dolphins still had their starters in padding the stats.
Years ago when the Oakland Raiders looked like serious favorites to go to the Super Bowl, late in the season they were smashing in some team. They kept Carr in who was having a phenomenal season. He was the reason why the Raiders were having the record they had. During the process of beating some team who no longer had a shot in winning that game, Carr gets injured for the remainder of the season. This destroys the Raiders chances for the playoffs. Wouldn't have happened if the coach had put in the backups instead of keeping the starters in. That's what the Raiders get. It was still Carr and the Raiders' best chance to win a ring in recent memory. But they got greedy padding the stats and karma bit back.
A lot of teams do this now. One of the reasons why I put a big * for offensive stats with the 2000s and beyond compared to the 1990s and earlier days of the NFL.
