Apparently "bangsang" (방상) which they translated here as "bang bang", is a buddhist term that indicates the act of surrounding yourself of a sort of natural protection (trees, rocks...) to protect your practice. If so, It would sure make a lot more sense than bang bang. Like saying "you can say whatever, if you bother me, I'll just raise that protection, what you do or say can't touch me. i'm a zen master."
I read from a korean army translator on twitter that "groin" in Korean culture can refer to the part of the body that is the centre for storing, processing and regulating emotions -- maybe the English expression "to vent your spleen" has a similar vibe. Also, hearing about that I now can't stop thinking about AMYGDALA, you know, our (brain's) centre for storing, processing and regulating emotions 😵💫
Heaven to me was more I am the holder of my true heaven or truth. So go ahead and take what you think is mine. I'm no lesser for it. Say, think, do as you please. I will be here and whole regardless what you do.
I was listening live on Saturday for a few hours of a roadtrip to visit my aunt. I was literally yelling to you when you kept saying Groin was the first song on the album to have structure because, in fact, architecturally, that is exactly what a groin is: groin 2 & 3 of 3 noun 2 a: the projecting curved line along which two intersecting vaults meet (Think cathedral ceiling arches) b: a rib that covers this edge 3 a rigid structure built out from a shore to protect the shore from erosion, to trap sand, or to direct a current for scouring a channel Also, you mentioned Karma a few times & my mind jumped to the meanings of the chakras of the groin area: The sacral chakra and the root chakra are two chakras located in the groin area: Sacral chakra This chakra is located below the navel, at the pubic bone, and in the inner pelvis. The sacral chakra is said to be responsible for creativity, sexual pleasure, sensuality, and purification. Root chakra This chakra is located at the base of the spine or groin area. It's said to represent safety, security, grounding, and stability. Some say that spending time in nature can help balance the root chakra. Whether consciously or not, sounds like our Joonie has been working on balancing his 1st & 2nd chakras! Thank you for having been my roadtrip buddy. The trip went so much faster listening to the full live stream. It was awesome!🙏💜
The feeling I got from Heaven is apathy, I viewed it as "oh well, you're here now, doesn't matter if everything collapses because my last piece of heaven is gone already"
Thank you for this reaction, Roscoe! ? (Interlude) - love the jazzy beat and his deep voice, kinda like a Barry White vibe. Love, love, love Groin - yeah, Namjoon, don't hold back, tell us what you really feel, LOL! There are quite a few specific targets in this blow up. Straight talking to a foot-tapping beat and so special to me because, in a way, it assuages the feeling I had when I was watching his reaction to that pile-up on him during one of his lives (where he was accused of disrespecting Islam). I approved of the way he said he wasn't apologising but I was finding his reaction so mild, almost placating ("have a heart, guys") and I was muttering "come on, Namjoon, show a bit of mongrel. Tell them to go f*** themselves!" Of course, once I calmed down, I realised he was right because young ARMY was in the live and it would be a bad example for him to lose his rag with those idiots. So yeah, more than a bit of mongrel from Namjoon in this song and it's about effing time! Why do I get the feeling from Heaven of coming to quiet waters after the storm? It's a song you can sway to, easy dancing beat. The words allude to refuge, strength in himself, not really happy but strong enough. Here for the other songs, Roscoe. As always, your analysis and interpretation make me think.
Tongue-in-cheek, yet wholly true to life. 'Groin' is a fun song, and Joon's prancing around feeling the beat of it in the MV. Expectations = entrapment, though, too. Making sense of non-sense - that's 'Groin' to me. 'Interlude' is whatever you/me/listeners want to imagine it to be in terms of the halfway point of the album. Hence, the question mark? You make what you want to make of it, he says to his fans - like an offering to us, and still smiling. 'Heaven' to me is like a respite, honestly. Then you read the lyrics, though. It's almost heaven, and (he is) getting there. He sounds calm singing it, and that calmess translates to the world out here. I am sure that's the initial response to this song, mostly. Lyric-wise, remember....? Making friends with your shadows? He is happy with the devils because they're always going to be there in one form or another. So....Joon's walking in the direction of a little bit of peace of mind now, I think. I hope so :) Haaa - I am writing my thoughts amidst your review. And there you go - peace struck both us, too. Good thing :)
I’m officially in love with Joonie’s Groin 😂😂😂. I love this song 💜
Have you seen RM mv for Groin?...its over simplistic...and prefect for the song!....just to quote what u said earlier...Namjoon is a legend!!!
RM is breaking free of the need to be the sweet, brainy guys who do not swear or smoke cigarettes or date.
Heaven always makes me think of Uncomfortable Numb by Pink Floyd... I mean, the vibe.

Growing. ... Groin' ... Groin💜

Love your reactions 💯❤❤

That was my thoughts as well
Groin for the crotch crew! 😂😂😂 I can’t believe you didn’t mention us 😉
I was listening live on Saturday for a few hours of a roadtrip to visit my aunt. I was literally yelling to you when you kept saying Groin was the first song on the album to have structure because, in fact, architecturally, that is exactly what a groin is:
groin
2 & 3 of 3
noun
2
a: the projecting curved line along which two intersecting vaults meet
(Think cathedral ceiling arches)
b: a rib that covers this edge
3
a rigid structure built out from a shore to protect the shore from erosion, to trap sand, or to direct a current for scouring a channel
Also, you mentioned Karma a few times & my mind jumped to the meanings of the chakras of the groin area:
The sacral chakra and the root chakra are two chakras located in the groin area:
Sacral chakra
This chakra is located below the navel, at the pubic bone, and in the inner pelvis. The sacral chakra is said to be responsible for creativity, sexual pleasure, sensuality, and purification.
Root chakra
This chakra is located at the base of the spine or groin area. It's said to represent safety, security, grounding, and stability. Some say that spending time in nature can help balance the root chakra.
Whether consciously or not, sounds like our Joonie has been working on balancing his 1st & 2nd chakras!

Thank you for this - knowing Namjoon's penchant for multi-layered cerebral meanings, both probably apply.
@@KootchLB that's what I was thinking, too. My favorite brainiac😁

Have you seen the MV it’s giving UK Roadman vibes
Maybe this is why I love BTS so much. My favorite saying is Karma is a Bitch💜💜💜
Groin damn....i am having dance club in my too hot balcony. 'Get your ass out the trunk'...💃💃
Interesting that Joon posted the beginning of the song on Insta this morning. Then removed quickly. Ballsy Joonie - Ballsy!
Jooni likes to make plays on words groin could also mean growing but said in a slang way he's leaving the past behind and moving forward.
It's almost like RM is tracing the history of black music in the US from blues/jazz to rap/hiphop. the connective element is the bass line
💜💜
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Interlude (?) = Cowboy Bebop
Did anyone say the word - pain? The entire thing is like Beat Poetry?
💜?💜get yo 🍑out the 🚘💜🌤💜
Will u please do tri:be songs like diamond, would you run , kiss please sir its my big request 😊
God of destruction 😂😂😂😂 Thank you again for the thoughtful reactions and analyses! This album is so good! Free Namjoon 💜
