I was mobbed at the local Elks lodge and was trying to get away when a Beetles comment came to mind. “We’re more popular than Jesus “. But I was thinking instead of Jesus, Gene, from the VFW. Ole Geno been a pain in my side since the Cut and Shoot Texas finals last July. Well, any how, I practiced your song “ Live Like You Were Dying “ hundreds of times before I got up on stage in front of a record open house crowd at the lodge. Everyone there knew what was at the end of the song. That gynormous note. As for any Karaoke song if you start it, you gotta finish it. After finishing the song the 300 plus crowd jumped to their feet with some coming to the stage. That freaked me out and told the wife “ we gotta go “. I hadn’t thought about having security. Crap. I was able to loose them after jumping in the car and hauling ass. I haven’t sang the song since. Maybe next time you’re close to the middle area of the country you could shoot me some tickets and invite me to do a duet with you. I have fond memories of them playing together as father on the guitar and daughter on the fiddle at Boston's on the Beach back in South Florida.
