Great show! I recall those first TITO machines at MGM Grand about 20 years ago. Anthony's memory is (of course) correct - hardly anyone was playing them. I played one and won a few dollars, but also remember thinking, "This will never catch on, because players want to hear the sound on the coins hitting the trays." However, once the casinos began installing those multi-line penny video slots, which had to be TITO, American players loved those machines (which had been popular in Australia for years) and got used to the TITO system.
A great place to go for live music in Vegas is the Bootlegger Bistro on the far South end of the Strip. A band plays there every Monday Night called Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns. Made up of mostly Vegas pro musicians. Not Jazz, but mostly funk and R&B...like Tower of Power. 16 member band including a 6 piece horn section. They are fabulous. Nice way to spend a Monday night in Vegas when most shows are dark. Check them out! Tickets are $15 apiece I think with a two drink minimum.
LOL. TITO was such a huge step forwards. Consider all the time wasted on handling coins and the associated health hazards. I once had a very good day at El Cortez playing 10-7 DDB filling 5 buckets completely. I had to hire a staff member to help haul the largesse to the cashier. That wasn't the worst of it - my hands were completely black and it took me about 15 minutes to scrub all the filth off my hands. Lord knows what was on those coins. I shouldn't complain too much though - it was a nice haul and the comps were juicy. 😉 11 years without a royal?? Wow that's astonishing - how many hands per week/month was that? And you still kept at it - I admire your iron will and determination. I once had a 2 year royal-less stretch at Station Casinos playing nothing but KB Joker Poker and FP Deuces. At about the end of that 2 years I started getting really exasperated and to make matters worse saw internet complaints about these machines being rigged which really fed my paranoia. But I convinced myself this can't possibly be true and was just a bizarre coincidence of different people experiencing dry spells at the same time. Sure enough the dam broke a week later with 3 royals hitting within days of each other. Yes, there is a lot of streakyness, but over the long run the hand frequencies really do hold up. Unfortunately it can take years to convince yourself of that and what happens in the interim can be very trying indeed. Sadly with Station Casinos and Boyd gutting their FP VP offerings the best days of VP seem to be behind us. Do you see any scenario in which FP VP would make a reappearance at the casinos?
I wasn't playing near as much as I do now, so not as crazy a drought as it sounds, but still a long run. Full-pay VP will continue to come and go. You have to look for other angles, like club perks and promotions. Million Dollar Video Poker by Bob Dancer covers this best.
Enjoyed the video. The Caesars casinos used to let you cash out any value below a dollar at the TITO machine. Now they make you go to the cashier , and they know most people won't stand in line. Another way that the casinos are ripping us off.
Me and my friend recently started playing video poker about 2 years ago and I remember hitting my first ever royal flush at a Albertsons supermarket by my house playing free play that they gave me for signing up for there rewards program and since then have hit two more, my friend on the other hand has never hit one but has hit multiple 4 aces with kicker, hoping to hit one more good royal before the year ends.
I wonder how much of that breakage is caesers tickets That won't give you the change. That old sheet of bargains was pretty cool, had to pause to read it👍
Great show as usual! In this show as in others you have mentioned Circa Million and Circa Survivor, but you have to live in Las Vegas to make the weekly picks or use a Proxy Service, do you all know of any reliable proxy services that do this (will go make your picks)? Would be nice to add information on this. Thanks
TITO is better than a train robbery. It is a huge heist. Those tickets should never expire! They upped the game recently by not paying out fractional dollar amounts through the machines, they force you to go to the counter. Even more profit for the casinos...
50 foot showgirls There was a 1950s scfi movie called " The Attack of the 50 foot Woman" - I like the prices on the LVA news letter at 0:43 ...... Breakfast---- 49 cents
I guess not all casino employees know about the "illegal" part of cashing TITOs that are found. I picked one up off the floor and it was a little over $20. I went to the nearest employee I could find and told her I found this on the floor. I asked if there was a place I could turn it in just in case someone realized they dropped it. She looked at me like I was crazy and said "You found it, it's yours now"
I will be returning in 3 weeks and will be back at the Cosmo. My wife and I are curious, there were rumors that due to his transgressions, Steve Wynn would be kicked off his own board and the Wynn would be renamed…how come his name is still on the property. I personally will never stay at that property? Can you guys address this in a future episode?
I have been watching your Channel for a while now. I'm a Sub and a Member of LVA. Could you please discuss the "odds" against the Player on 6/5 Blackjack, 000 Roulette, and UTH 6 Card Bonus? I think UTH 6 Card Bonus has the worst odds against the Player, but all of those Table Games should be avoided, what say you, Anthony Curtis?
There are so many topics we could cover, but business has to play a role. The 10K subscribers aren't a big deal in this world, so hard to devote more time than we do until it also makes monetary sense. That's the honest answer. I think we'll get there.
Great video guys, currently in town. My wife has had several vouchers that she had to cash out with just change. Will Cesar's properties give you the change at the cashier's desk?
The casinos I go to in CA, because of the supposed coin shortage, won't dispense coins any more. They give you the option at the check out to donate your coins. I take the ticket and give it to someone playing penny machines as I am leaving.
I waited 13 years in-between royals!! Then I hit two in one weekend this past December. But apparently that wasn't impressive enough for you to share on your show. (I sent you the pictures and everything.) Then I hit another one a couple of months ago!
Many casinos no longer provide coins when you redeem your cash-out vouchers at an ATM. You have to go to the cashier to get the change. That’s a hassle so many vouchers end up being discarded or are taken home and eventually expire. MGM casinos let you donate the “change” to charity when cashing-out at an ATM. That’s a better option than just throwing away the money.
I must have missed the ‘New News’ on TITO tickets. The uncashed tickets is very old news. The title of this episode mentions ‘TITO Tax’. Is the state (or Feds) considering using TITO tickets as a paper trail for income tax purposes?
Regarding the TITO "surplus," that's got to be the result of so many redemption machines refusing to give out change. At least, at the Wynn, the machine permits you to donate your change to charity. It also proves the point about why casinos can make so much money. My unredeemed 20 cent ticket doesn't sould like much until you multiply it a million times a month over twelve months.
I think VP is getting more popular now. There are plenty of channels on RUclips that feature it. A good one is Slotmassacre. He actually caught a live $100,000 hit on a $25 Triple Double Bonus machine. Dealt like 3 threes and a 2, drew the fourth 3! Same as a Royal on TDB.
@@anthonycurtis4075 there are a lot of slot channels (not VP) that are not really truthful about wins and losses. There are some that get caught up in group pull shenanigans. We know that practicing and becoming proficient at VP, knowing how to manage payroll, and taking advantage of comps (free play) is the best way of having a shot at coming out ahead, at least when compared to nearly every other type of game in the casino.
