I'm working on the same thing. I need to ask these questions. . when you install the belt tensioner do you tighten the bolt before you install the belt,or just stug it then ajust the tension. I tighten the bolt first and have a hard time getting the belt onto the tension. I'm having a hard time getting the crankshaft mark to line up right. it's always over to far or not far enough. and yes I am moving it back half a tooth before installing the belt. l think your video is great but maybe missing one part. just asking I really need to get this thing running. thanks

I got a question on my 2006 Dodge Caravan se my timing belt broke I'm planning on doing the job myself but what if the cams are not lined up how can I move them and line them up.. meaning the timing mark
Depends on what motor you have, 2.4 2.5 3.0 3.3 ....

my timing belt broke while driving.. so if the two top sprockets aren't line up is it ok for me to move them in place individually or do I have to move them at the same time..
turn crank to timing mark on case, then turn cam gears markings to each other.

If the old belt is not broken I would mark the block and the gears before removing belt like the idiot engineer should have done because it matters if the marks meet but it also matters where they meet or have fun setting it ten times

how did you get the tensioner to tighten up i had to change a water pump on one and can't get the belt tight
Tensioner? You men Timing belt tensioner or tensioner for the drive belt (alt, ps etc)

Well the timing is not to be real tight. There should be some slack in the belt. Not super tight.
Your video shows the tensioner and briefly describes it therefore, it should have also covered the installation and setting of the automatic tensioner. You use an inspection mirror and turn the adjuster cam forward or back to line up the spring tang within the slot. As much as timing is important, the belt tension must not be overlooked.
