This is from the exclusive Jesse Ventura shoot from 2014. Here, Ventura talks about his time wrestling for and against Jerry Lawler.
Many may not remember that Ventura went to Memphis Wrestling before entering the World Wrestling Federation. Jesse actually held the gold in Memphis but had to ship the championship belt back to Jerry!
Also hear Jesse's take on Austin Idol, another star in the Memphis territory. Ventura says Idol, like himself, emulated a lot of their style from the late-great Superstar Billy Graham.

Austin Idol seems to be lost in the lore of pro wrestling. He had a tremendous career. And, he is still involved today with the NWA.
Idol gets the praises from people that know.
Idol and Paul Heyman were the first to beat Lawler in a hair vs hair match.

Billy Graham was The Man. Vince Sr.'s biggest mistake was not leaving the belt on Billy. He would have eventually turned face and could well have been as big as Hogan.

The Hulkster had to fight his way through all these Kings on his rise & prime. Starting with that no good King Lawler, then he had guys like Harley Race and King Haku and that Macho King Savage. The Hulkster took on all these royal wrasslers like a champeen.
