You know this game is forgotten when it showed us a time in the past decade when the Angels were actually competitive
The one postseason appearance they’ve had since that massive Pujols contract and they don’t even get a single win.

And to think, a lot of people have forgotten Mike Trout DID appear in the postseason. Because of these Royals.

both games 1 and 2 of this series were incredible games. the 2014 postseason is the most forgotten and underrated one of all time, there were insanely exciting games nearly every night, and the 2014 WS was one for the ages. I’ll never forget watching Mad-Bum do his thing in games 7.

I didn’t forget this game. I was there! Was a frustrating loss but happy to say I was at the angles last home playoff game. It’s been 8 years hasn’t happened again. I hope that changes this season

It blows my mind this Angels team had the best record in baseball in 2014. Only time Trout has ever seen the playoffs and they didnt win a single game. Hopefully him and Shohei get to play on the big stage soon.

A forgotten classic to me was 2015 ALDS game 4, Kansas comeback against Astros. Unbelievable game
Great game!! Game 1 was also a classic, but I wouldn’t say it was as exciting as Game 2. Game 1 of the ALCS in 2014 was also a classic.

This was Mike Trout's second postseason home game. As of the end of 2021, he has yet to appear in another (0-4 with a walk)

The 2014 post season was epic. Make the Giants vs Nationals that went to extras, like 16 innings or something, it was long but a great game
This Royals team was so fun to watch. Only team aside from the Dodgers that I kept up with during the playoffs
The villains of this game are Eric Hosmer and Colin Cowgil. This is the only playoff game I ever attended
Royals fan told me Butler, Hosmer and Gordon were future hall of famers after these playoffs. I told him nope and he called me a hater. Good times
The only one that realistically had a shot at the time was Hosmer. Royals fans knew what Butler and Gordon were even in 2014 and while Gordon deserves a spot in the Royals hall of fame, Butler was never close to that status.

The AL side of the 2014 playoffs is so crazy to look back on. The Royals, A’s, Tigers, O’s, and Angels were all in it. All of these teams suck ass now, (well Baltimore is actually decent this year but they’ve been awful the past few years)

People forget the Angels made it to the playoffs. Those big contracts to Hamilton, Pujols, Freese, and CJ Wilson were awful. Should’ve spent that money on pitching. Hopefully the Halos can get back to the playoffs
