My first Persona was Persona 3, and man, while the Velvet Room theme in the later games will always be one of my favorites in gaming, I can't help but enjoy this one more despite having never played the game. It truly is a beautifully done piece.

Is it just me, or does anyone feel REALLY nostalgic for some reason? This is odd because I've never played a Persona game, ever. But I have watched gameplay of this game mutiple times... but not when I was little. I just find it SUPER odd that I feel nostalgic when listening to this despite the lack of Persona in my life.
ZFSBoss2090 nostalgia has nothing to do with age. You can be nostalgic of stuff that happened 3, 5 or 20 yrs ago. You admit to watching P3 vids, and you miss those days. It's as simple as that.
@@bysuke- persona 3 got 2 re releases, both of which having entirely new campaigns and bonus content. Persona 1 and 2 had 1 psp port each that only added 1 mini scenario, new music, and some quality of life changes. That's still kind of a lot, but no where near what P3 got
It really speaks for itself. When the game was made, when it came out, the mood and theme of the game, the message it conveys. Just hearing it feels like a trip back into time when it was the age of PS1, Makes me feel young again, like the age of the protagonist. When I hear this music I imagine a cold street, grey clouds, the rain, but the warm feeling hits you that you walked in on something great, like passing by an old friend, or seeing a store you would like to go into. This is real music
If anyone's wandering, judging from the live stream Atlus Japan did that went in depth on the Social Link aspect of the game, the Persona 3/4 version is back. In the stream, Caroline and Justine are talking amongst themselves in the new Jail version of the velvet room and that version of the song is playing.
P2 velvet room theme was composed by someone else than Meguro that's why it sounds different. My favorite velvet room theme for sure. Not dissing Meguro's talent or anything i just found his versions of the theme bland compared to this.

Started playing Innocent Sin last week and man do I love this version of the theme already. P2IS is my second Persona game after 5 and I'm enjoying it so far. Still haven't beat the first boss yet though.

The last persona game made before the soft reboot into more of a traditional pop-jazz type aesthetic in the later games. I kinda liked the more experimental style of the early games.
That theme is supposed to be a remix of this, since Nyx was... well, I don't now what was him, but he used all the arcanas, he was related with the arcanas and tarot, so the theme would fit him.
Honestly this is my most favorite version of the Velvet Room theme (with the the Gymnopedie version being my favorite Velvet Room Track overall). I really wish Atlus didnt reuse the same Velvet room theme from Persona 3 for 4 and 5 just for the consistency. By the way I think Persona 2 is a masterpiece so far and definitely deserves a remake (along with 1) and having a chance of putting it's characters in more Persona spin offs. EDIT: I forgot to mention the Persona 3 version of the Velvet room theme is in the PSP version of Persona 2 as well..... Once again consistency lol

You decided go the nearest mall and fetch some light drinks and look around I'f there's any food vendors still open at this late hour. You look around and around but to no avail. Frustrated, you were about to walk away when you hear a faint humming of one familiar song. The song was so nostalgic, the melody was so serene and the voice were majestic. You tried to remember anything about this song but your memories so cloudy. Then you stopped walking. You can't believe your eyes. A huge door with melismatic hue of blue color stood in front of you. Then all those memories from your childhood flooded back again. Yes. You remembered it now. The Velvet Room
Actually, I'm quite sure that Isamu Tanonaka didn't pass away BEFORE Persona 4 was made (hence how Igor still spoke to the MC near the end of the game in the True Ending), he passed away AFTER, which is why in P4 the Animation and Persona 4 the Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena there is practically no real dialogue from Igor besides the same archived dialogue he's said in P3 and P4.
This one is THE BEST. It saddens me that persona 4 fanboys don't know this masterpiece, but only the p3/p4 version (wich is also great). Like a series? Search for it's roots.

For me the plot is the most important thing in a game. Gameplay is important too. If it's broken, the game is not worth playing, no matter how good the plot actually is. That, however, is not the case with p1 and p2. The gameplay is not broken, only outdated, and, sincerely, on some aspects I prefer it better. It doesn't get as tiring and repetitive as p3/p4's. I can understand why people are turned off by these things, though. Unfortunately people tend to overlook plot in favor of graphics
No, Persona 4 was in mind right after Persona 3. Right when casting was underway the man who voiced Igor in P3 passed away, so thats why we have the Igor we have today in Persona 4, P4 Animation, and P4 Arena.
There is no singer. Just the sound engineer created some amazing synthetic "aah" and "ooh" sound sample. They probably loaded it onto some vintage yamaha synth and recorded it. The music file in the Playstation disc are just PS version midis

more persona 2. Persona 1's old fashioned game mechanics bothers a lot of people (not me), so I think p2 Innocent sin is a good one to go, if you're not used to the old megami tensei games. Storywise, persona 1 is the deepest, even though I like p2's characters better.
TBH I think I prefer the P3/4 version of Aria of the Soul. The main thing to me that makes P2 IS/EP have better Velvet Rooms is because sometimes they'll play other songs that are usually very cool.
