It is a real shame these old speedways being deserted. Back in 1975 or 76 we came down from Wisconsin to watch Dick Trickle and Tom Reffner race here in the World Cup 300. I believe Reffner won in an AMC Javelin of all things. He was very fast and won most everywhere he traveled for those couple years. The speedway was amazing, this video brings back great memories. Phil Bickley and his wonderful wife Helen from State Park Speedway in Wausau, WI chartered a bus for a bunch of us from the track. It was a great trip, my girlfriend (now my wife of 42 years) and I had a wonderful time. The early and mid 70's in Central Wisconsin was a great time to watch weekly stock car racing. We had Dick Trickle, Tom Reffner, Marv Marzofka, Larry Detjens, Mike Miller and a few others to watch every week. They were fantastic. Thanks for the video. Well done.
I grew up going to I-70.... so sad to see it this way. I've got a lot of great memories from that place. Wouldn't it be something to have the money to buy it, and get it going again....
this one don't show you but if you look inside that building off turn 1 theres a few race cars and a 1973 firebird that's worth saving . plus a few race cars outside on the far side of the building ..
For all of you who commented on here wanting the track to be restored, well here she is, fully rebuilt as a thriving 1/2 mile dirt track! ruclips.net/video/QBr9Rchs6GQ/видео.html
An amazing video. I know exactly where this place is. Where did you park? I know there's a country road behind it but not sure if there's room to park. I don't want to drive 3 hours to a place to find I can't go too.
Heck, it sits on about 160 acres of land, more parking than anything else, but you can't get in. Supposedly it's been bought and a drag strip going to be put in. I hope so, live about 2 air miles from it and loved when it was open. Worked there for a few years
It’s amazing what it looks like now I was there lastnight and I’m so happy they baught it and redid it

It’s crazy how nature reclaims everything overtime.
It really is amazing
They need to restore the place. What a cool race track. Sad to see it so dilapidated.
Chevyblock 550 Well guess whats happening in 2019!
Drove by this place the other day, they've replaced the sign facing I-70, it looks like they're planning on restoring this place!
They turned it into a dirt track
where is it off of 70?!
couldn't watch all of it....it hurt so much to see this track in this shape.
Such a terrible shame. I am from Wisconsin and came down here in 1975 to watch the World Cup. A very cool track in its day.

If you can find a video of that, I would love to see it. I am looking for a car that I built in 2005 that is supposed to be near the property.
This is a really cool video.

Holy shit! Thats awesome!!
Wasn't this track also hit by a tornado after sitting unused for many years?
Sad to see just after I watched a video of a Outlaw race here in 1982- when it was covered with clay!
6:07 did it start?
Such a sad site. This track was a popular stop for some touring divisions. What happened?
I raced at this track 10 years ago
I finished 4th.
Awesome!

parking is definitely a pain in the ass.

it's supposed to re open in 2020 as a dirt track
I knew trees were tough but how the hell do they grow through solid concrete?
Life, uh, finds a way.
(Tree roots can lift entire roads given time)
Cracks in the concrete.
They need to rebuit it. This is sad what it looks like. Had good time
this is around the 4th youtube video ive seen of these trespassers at this track
it was bought and the new owner is turning it into a dragstrip
This track is now completely rebuilt and a thriving 1/2 mile dirt track and yes they have the drag strip as well.
4 quart oil fire that Honda up....
Who goes around and destroys these places?
assholes
You’re trespassing
