I no what can worth more, it is the mins you realize that God loves you and sent his son Christ to die for you so all your sins can be forgiven, and for you to have a relationship with Christ knowing fully well you are so loved and totally forgiven of all your sins all you need is to believe.
I have watched so many research paper tips. But this is probably one of the clearest, most coherent and informative video! Thank you for your time and effort. I am trying to write most of my research paper today, and I know this will make my life 10x easier.
This is my favourite channel. I especially like it when you explain everything so nicely. I wish you a lot of success with the channel and happy life. This is a great channel! I only caught sight of you folks in recent times, but it’s now among my favourite channels. Congratulations on such an amazing achievement, can't wait to see your channel grow even bigger.
ita so informative that if we write down whole lecture and then pursue our writing step by step, that will come with an excellent introduction writing. thank u sir
Like many other "how to" videos, this video is also too "to-do list" - esque. What this video needs is a one line summary of THE point of writing an introduction for a research paper; that is, to highlight with absolute clarity the answer to a simply yet critical question: """WHAT IS AT STAKE???""". In another word, the Introduction must clarify what will (continue to) happen if existing knowledge were allowed to be believed without the challenge mounted by the research paper or be accepted as valid without new information provided by the paper. It should then end with the outline of how exactly the paper will challenge/add to the existing knowledge = "argument outline". EASY!!!
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I would agree that this is probably closer to an outline on what should be included than a good primer on exactly how to include it (with detailed exampled). It would be beneficial to have more in-depth examples of an introduction and the purpose of each section. If that is the kind of video you are looking for, we suggest you check out the much-less-viewed webinar we created entitled "How to Write a Strong Introduction": ruclips.net/video/XBJvwb7IPq4/видео.html It is an hour long and goes into depth on the content and purpose of elements within the introduction and demonstrates what a good introduction should look like (the "stakes" are there, too, fyi). Check it out!
Thanks for the helpful comments, everyone! And please do let us know if there are any writing issues you would like to see clearly explained in a video. ;)
Because of covid and the inability to achieve any fieldwork, we were asked to write a comparative research paper where we must find 3 primary research articles about a certain topic and scrutinize or be critical about these 3 articles. How do I go about writing the introduction and the literature review for this kind of research paper?
Oh Wow, i should have seen this earlier, before I went in for my first defense, Maybe i wouldn't have had to change the topic or have to rework the entire proposal. Thank you so much for the insights. Am wiser.Thank you.
Thank you for this precise video. It helped me many times in writing the introduction for my research paper and in answering the questions in my modules. More powers to you! Please continue in making these vids. Specially the other parts of research.

So, for the people who are preparing for essays or will be heading to university in the future and will need to write essays, I highly suggest getting a referencing software for your reference list/bibliography. I have used Google Scholar, Mendeley and Endnote. They're all wonderful and free, except for Endnote, which you usually pay for but many universities might have it available for free. You put all of the bibliographical information into any of these software, and they will build your reference list at the end in whatever style you need. It honestly saves a lot of time. Hey, would you like help writing your college essays or handling coursework? Please send me an email (maryjoykimmy@gmail.com), and you needn't ever worry about beating deadlines or getting good grades.
Can you make a video about good editorial writing format or technique? Most of reading materials today about editorial writing are simply statements of what should be done and not giving sample structures to be followed by beginners in that particular field. I think, news writing and feature writing are the fields mostly given attention to, and editorial writing is left behind.
Why was this study needed to fill the gap of scientific knowledge? Why does this gap need filling? Ask questions to frame the aims of the study Use keywords from your title Don’t state obvious or broad facts about your topic - highly relevant info is always more useful Be sure to cite all the sources referenced Only give useful background information Only review relevant, up-to-date primary literature that supports your explanation of current base of knowledge Step 2: Show the gap in knowledge Highlight areas of too little available info Explain why and how we should fill in that gap Explain what logical steps can be developed based on existing research Show you have have examined current data and devised a plan Show your peers your awareness of the direction of your field Show confidence Step 3: Show how your study fills in the knowledge gaps? Thank you for your positive feedback. We are always trying to improve our video content. Look for videos in this format (narration/graphics) focusing on other sections of the research paper in the near future!
This is true. The Introduction is often considerably longer than that--up to 30% of some articles. It really depends on the nature of the article, where the emphasis is being placed, and how much other literature is being included for comparison or background. Thank you!

I don't see any mention of thesis placement in this video. @wordvice - would you suggest it to be the last sentence of the intro? Thanks. Otherwise, very useful video. Good job.
Great question and pardon us for not being more explicit in the video! The thesis should be placed right at the end of your introduction (or before the literature review if there is one)--the "purpose statement" is essentially synonymous with the "thesis statement." For example: "This paper examines the discrepancies between Hook's (1998) theory of geranium reproduction and two subsequent studies that present disconfirming evidence." The thesis statement is not synonymous with a hypothesis, although the two could be closely related depending on whether the paper primarily concerns an experiment or survey. The thesis of a humanities paper is of course quite different than that of a social sciences or natural sciences paper, as the results of the latter are empirical and often multivariate. Hope this clears things up a bit. Thanks again for your comment!
What's the difference between "Why was this study needed to fill in the gap in scientific knowledge" vs "Why does this gap need filling?" Does the first question mean to say that "There is a gap in scientific knowledge"?

I am having trouble using the preferred ACTIVE VOICE when we're told not to overuse first-person pronouns. In the exception of using "the researchers", are there anything else that can be used? hope that you get my point, help!
Thanks for your question! The active voice can also be used in sentences and clauses where the researcher is not the subject. For example, "The enzymes sped up the reaction by lowering activation energy." In the passive voice, this might be a bit awkward: "The reaction was sped up by the enzymes by lowering activation energy." You usually refer to the work of the researchers in the Methods section, and thus you can safely use the passive voice there if you want to avoid referring to the researchers directly. For more examples, check out this video we made on active/passive-voice constructions in research writing: ruclips.net/video/pHZ1Xve3au0/видео.html

Why was this study needed to fill the gap of scientific knowledge? Why does this gap need filling?
Brief background info abt research topic
Rationale for undertaking this study (reason for “filling the gap”)
Key references to preliminary work or closely related papers
Clarification of terms, definitions, or abbreviations
Review of related literature
Step 1: Show what is already known (background info)
Give strong statement that reflects your research subject area
State the topic and the problems explored in your study. Ask questions to frame the aims of the study
Use keywords from your title
Don’t state obvious or broad facts about your topic - highly relevant info is always more useful
Be sure to cite all the sources referenced
Only give useful background information
Only review relevant, up-to-date primary literature that supports your explanation of current base of knowledge
Step 2: Show the gap in knowledge
Highlight areas of too little available info
Explain why and how we should fill in that gap
Explain what logical steps can be developed based on existing research
Show you have have examined current data and devised a plan
Show your peers your awareness of the direction of your field
Show confidence
Step 3: Show how your study fills in the knowledge gaps? (purpose & hypothesis)
State your purpose and give a clear hypothesis of objective of the study
Hypothesis: 1-2 sentence; if then because

Write in the active voice and concise sentences. Use stronger verbs when possible, don’t overuse first person pronouns and organize your thoughts from broad to specific.
