Hey Kackad95, yes the tutorial 6 - Part1 and 2 Radiation Analysis is measuring the heatgain in kWh per m2. For PV pannel estimation for example. You might want to check that out: ruclips.net/video/TED2Pf3pS4M/видео.html (Part1) ruclips.net/video/F_q68OGYEbQ/видео.html (Part2)
And one more question - Can we and how we can see how greenery affects external thermal comfort here in Ladybug? Can we add some trees or something like grass here and make an experiment? Thanks a lot. You are great!
Its possible with Ladybug but only to a certain extent.. However Honeybee has more capability in that direction. I would start with the basics ruclips.net/video/hnExu7Nu7QQ/видео.html
You don't need to save the model in any specific format. You build you model in Rhino and when you are happy with it you link your model into a geometry container. You can find the containers for all kinds of objects in the grasshopper main library. First toolset from the left. I recommend to watch some general grasshopper tutorials before jumping into Ladybug.
hello, great video, i am just having a problem with a fact that when i run this analysis the colours on the geometry are tinted as if there was a object below it, even though i hid everything. do you have any idea why that could be the case?
Hello, thank you very much for this tutorial. would you know why I dont have the ladybug_ladybug plugin? and also I only have the LB direct sun hours which as I see is not the same as the one you used?
Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial! But I encountered some problems when I tried to bake the result of grasshopper. After I enable the sunhour component, though there are ladybug bake layers in Rhino, there's nothing shown on the screen. Do you know how I can solve the problem?
hi muyun - not 100 percent sure what the problem is. Are there any objects in the ladybug folders? if yes, make sure that you are in the correct display mode. or adjust your display mode to show colored meshes. Before you bake the result, did you see the colored mesh in the viewport? many questions - if you can't make it to work you can also send me an email with the GH definition and I can have a look. office@nedomlel.com best philipp
Thank you very much for this video! Do you need to download Radiance in order to get the Sunlight Hours Analysis tool? It doesn't seem to be showing up in my Ladybug toolbar.
@Sustainable Living Japan - no, you don't need Radiance for this script. But it could be that you have a newer version of Ladybug installed. For that you might want to check out my latest video on the same topic with the latest Ladybug tools.
Hi, first of all thanks for this tutorial. While trying out the script you described in this tutorial, I run in a problem, since the LB sun path component will not return any vectors to input in the LB Direct Sun Hours. Any suggestions? Thanks
Hey Flavio, I guess you are working with the latest Ladybug version? Ladybug tools 1.1.0? Have you provided a time (hoys)? If the time is set to an hour were the sun hasn't risen for the specified location then it can't return a vector. Normally the time is set to 0. That would be midnight. Don't know if that is the problem you have with the script. I just tried it here and it works.
@@PhilippGalvanDesign Hi Philipp, setting the hoys surely has moved something forward, the vectors can now be read, but still I cannot visualize the script correctly. In fact as further proof, if I run it it will not work. The constant upgrade of Ladybug is kind of tricky as all the tutorials I find are made based on the old version....
@Flavio Recchia - Yeah agree, the new Ladybug tools are definitely a bit different, and it is a bit frustrating with keeping up with the updates. However, I can see that the developers rethought some of the concepts to make them more straightforward. Since there has been some confusion and question also from others I decided to prepare a follow up tutorial today. Will upload later or tomorrow.
I might do, but probably after the Ladybug series. I have only read through the description. In general i think it has the same functionality as the ladybug tools but is computed in the cloud. Meaning that the calculations are most likely faster. I think it's also geared towards more readymade workflows. And there are paid plans... It also needs a slightly different setup but i think with learning the Ladybug tools you will automatically know how to use pollination.
Hi Philipp! Thanks for this video it is super helpful. Have you ever seen or run into the issue of the vector output from the Sun path tool not properly loading into the Direct Sun Hours tool? I am getting the error message that "Input parameter _vectors failed to collect data". I was having issues loading a weather file .epw at first but was able to properly download onto my desktop. I thought the issue could maybe be related but I'm not sure why it would be.
Yeah I had that issue.. ok so what I would do is trying different weather data files. Even though it might have downloaded it doesn't mean that the file is ok. Try something very obvious. Airports normally have a good working weather data. Some weather data files are not working....because they haven't been maintained properly.
Hi, ich have a question, i have only six panels and 94 components in my ladybug folder, also ist the first Radiaton panel , you are using, in my gh missing. At the same Symbol i can only find the incident radiation panel. I did anything as you said at Installation, do you know, what ist missing? Greetings

Amazing tutorial! I have just one question: is it posible to take a capture or print the final result? Do you need to render it or something? Thank you!
@Raquel Peña - after you baked the result the coloured mesh is inside your rhino file. The coloured mesh is not a material so can't render it with vray for example. However I normally use a nice display mode and the print function or the capture viewport command. Which is: "_ViewCaptureToFile'. Which I use most often for diagrams since you can control the resolution and file format. its perfect for print or web presentations. Hope that helps.
@@PhilippGalvanDesign Thank you so much! I though about render it at first, but the ViewCaptureToFile comand seems a more accurate solution. Thank you so much and happy new year!
