THANK YOU!!! I just spent hours/days trying to fix half fisherman's over 300 stitch rows, unraveling about 5-6 rows each time and retrying twice unsuccessfully. This was a lifesaver!
Thank you so much! I spent so many hours trying to fix mistake I made on my QS blanket. It was a nightmare. Your knitting tutorials are only tutorials one need. Bless you!
Thanks so much for showing us how to fix Fisherman's Rib mishaps! I attempted Fisherman's Rib scarf in the past but I just didn't know how to fix them so I gave up, and unraveled everything because I just didn't know how to undo and tinker back. Now I know how to fix some mistakes which are bound to happen for any knitters, I can comfortably knit the scarf again! You're wonderful and I love your show! Please keep up great work! 💟
Thank you! This literally saved me from a frustrated cry! I was right at the end of my project and so scared I would need to re-start. You've saved me❤
Thank you so much for this. I had mistakenly purled a knit stitch and knitted a purl stitch about 80% into a project and almost a foot after the lifeline, your tutorial saved me.
I asked if you could help me with this problem, and hoping you would reply. Well my Sweet Lady, you are a living Angel. You showed more than I expected, thank you so very much. I feel so lucky I found your Chanel, as I’ve asked others many times.God Bless you Lady. Now I will practice. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️
thank you! thanks you! for this wonderfully clear video! I was literally in the last five rows of my scarf when I dropped and unraveled five stitches at the end of a row. I thought I was doomed, even after watching the first part of your video which shows how to repair one stitch. But then when you showed how to unravel and pick everything up again, you literally saved my day.❤❤
Hurrah!! Thanks to you and your video I was abke to fix a hole in my scappy blanket project! Thank you SO much! I ready to rip all the rows back but even then I wasn't sure it could be corrected. Thank you!
Just found this in the knick of time. Finishing up a long scarf and found a peculiar stitch. Laddered down and followed your instructions and in a minute - presto! All fixed. Thank you!
I never knew about the 'bar' as you call it! I would salvage my stitches but still see the bar. Now it makes sense. I spent Dec 17-18, 2023 knitting, unknitting, reversing, recasting stitches then finally unravelling it all but now I'm better prepared for my project. Thank you!
twice this month I've come back to this video to help me fix my scarf. I want to be a little mad about the fact that I've been clumsy twice this month, but mostly I'm very thankful to you for making this video
So happy you made this tutorial!! This helped me out a lot when i needed to unravel my fisherman rib project to get a certain measurement since i made more rows then i should have lol! Thank you again!!
I was pulling my hair out trying to find a way to repair wrongly made Fisherman's Rib stitches in my hat. Luckily I found your video and my hat was saved. I will now subscribe to your RUclips. Thanks so much.
Excellent tutorial, I have been scared to death to pick up my project of a fishmerman's rib sweater as I had no idea how to correct mistakes but this video with it's clear instructions have spurre me on. Thank you.
Gargh! I wish I had found this video a week ago! But it's an absolute bonus seeing it now - I am right in the middle of knitting a FR snood for someone, and this will be so useful if I create a mishap! Thank you!!
I am ok living with flaws but I find it impossible to continue if I cannot find or drop the stitch(es) I inadvertently added or picked up! This was so helpful.
This is perfect--my first time with this stitch and the horror of finding dropped stitches had me trying figure it out. Very clear explanation and easy to do--thank you!
You are a lifesaver! Thanks so much for this - I thought I was going to have to pull out my entire knitting and start again because I couldn’t work out how to pick up the dropped stitches. Thanks for working out how to do it!
Many, many thanks for his tutorial, it is invaluable and has saved me many hours of frustration, . it is now at the top of my knitting favorites so I know where to find.
Oh my goodness! When you unraveled to demonstrate what to do when multiple stitches were dropped - I nearly died! Gah!! But now I know how to pick up a dropped fisherman’s rib stitch. Before today I would just cry in despair! 🥲thank you!
Hi I love your instructions so simple to follow. Thank you. I would like to know if you could show me how to pick up stitches on a shaker stitches please?
This is perfect, just what I needed. Wish I’d looked for this sooner for a previous project, I just lived with the mistake but it always bothers me! 😂 wasted so much time and frustration trying to work it out before too! Very clearly explained that following this was a doddle and no indication in the work of a mistake now. Thank you!
Love this tutorial!! I haven’t done a deep search, but do you have one on fixing it in the round? I’m prepping to do a pullover sweater, but don’t wanna start until I’m very comfortable with fixing mistake
Thank you so much for this - I'm just learning the Fisherman's Rib (which I prefer to the Brioche stitch), and your tutorial is so clear and has helped me to get things back on track! Every other tutorial I've watched on Fisherman's Rib basically says it's too hard to fix problems, so it's best to rely on lifelines. However, you've given me confidence now to keep going with my scarf project, after frogging back several rows and successfully getting all the stitches back on the needle! Thank you for all that you do - do you have a Buy Me A Coffee account, or something similar?
@@sowoolly you definitely should set one up, or a Patreon account - some way where we grateful souls can say thank you for all your wonderful tutorials :)
Does it matter whether you start on right side or wrong side. I am having trouble mastering this but trying to save this sweater. It’s knit with fingering yarn so very difficult to grab stitches even with size 1 needle. This is for picking up the whole row. Thank you so much
Thanks for this. Very helpful - as are all your videos. I stuggle to pick up ordinary rib. It always seem to have strands that I don't know what to do with. Could you also show me this?
Hi thank you for another fantastic video, I was just wondering if you can do a video on how to repair the herringbone stitch both knit and purl wise. Thank you in advance
Ahhhh...I wish there was a way to attach what I did...this looks very close to what I did but I put it down not wanting to tink back so far🥺🧶 I may try again thanks to your video...
I love your instruction and the visual in your tutorial. You have so many lessons in this tutorial. However, in the first part if the tutorial, picking up the stitch you skipped only one knit stitch and did something different. I’m a newbie so I’m a little confused by the beginning. I’ll continue learning from you though ❤
Does this repair work with two colours? I am having trouble getting it to work. I will keep trying until I hear from you! Very good tutorial by the way!
I’ve been making a fisherman’s rib pattern where first row is all knit second row is k1 then k1 below p1 repeated till last 2 sts last two knit 1 below k 1 , these two rows are alternating I’ve made a mistake trying to go back but getting confused ?, if I put a lifeline in how do I pick up the stitches ?, esp the pearl ones ?
Could you tell me if the pattern asks for one stitch increase it actually means two stitches as in fisherman’s rib one increase usually produces two stitches ?
The pattern should asks for increasing two stitches instead of one; that’s the only way to preserve the design. Take a look: ruclips.net/video/1ZJeiLdrL5c/видео.htmlsi=aYee0iuj7XC63vQc
I just accidentally knit a mock fisherman's rib stitch when I mean to do a purl stitch and now I don't know how to undo it! Could you help? I don't want to risk taking it off the needles because then I might as well start over again
