love how Yakuza 7 is like a mixture of anime setting (spiky hair hero, gathers friends in order to save the world) he rises his magical abbilities, learn his friends backstories etc. All with superb magical battles! Except all of this is set in world of politics, struggling with economic crisis, people searching for comfort in joining manipulative groups, politicians pulling uncomfortable laws, Two settings that normally shouldn't work together, worked perfectly xD
I know I just love it so much, there's always been hints of it with like "I'll get a healing potion from the healer" (buying an cough syrup from a pharmacy) but with Ichiban, the whole "in his imagination" thing can let them go crazy.
I sincerely see the Yakuza games realistic, i mean yeah, there is no a crazy patch guy screaming your name in real life but the thing about "Yeah, you pass bad time and the world maybe can be a trash, but you still having good or ridiculous moments sometimes with your family or friends"
If Sega's concern about the intros was to avoid showing spoilers then they could have just made anime-like intros that show stuff that doesn't even happen in the game. Legit wouldn't even be out of place
I never had an issues with spoilers in any Yakuza opening as there was so much stuff happening in them that there was no way I would remember the stuff that happened while actually playing. 0's intro shows Lao Gui and his introduction to the game still surprised me. I just would watch the intro once or twice before playing.
The scene in which Ichiban is enjoying the fireworks is painful to watch. He looks so content and happy with life and his place in it. Just a few hours before everything changes! I LOVE this song, the game and especially Ichiban as the new protagonist. A worthy successor to the Yakuza series - as well as Kiryu's - legacy.
I get your point about spoilers, but these intros help draw you into the story. The short arc in this intro has me sold on Ichiban as the protagonist. I’m excited to play 7 now.
The cinematic intros are a big part of Yakuza, it's a shame they had to remove them, possibly from the reasons you described (which are bs imo). Well, at least we have the closest thing to one for this game, thanks to you ☺️
@@irsyadiaryadiva9430 Beats me, maybe they were too lazy this time, or like Leon said, maybe they wanted to avoid spoilers for this one, since for a lot of people, this is their first Yakuza, and the devs didn't want to ruin the experience. Who knows?
People talking about that he had the bread scene in this where I’m glad he added the scene of namba and adachi vaulting ichi atop the campaign van like how shonan no kaze did in the actual music video
Shonan no Kaze's MV is actually just their 3D model inserted into the game scenes. It's part of RGG Studios marketing their new version of Dragon Engine. Like the Majima Construction Anthem the localization team did for Kiwami 2.
As the Music sync dude you are, I do like how they hit here. And as for that excuse, you did some good cutaways from the spoilers. And they could have put the characters in a unique scene for the opening like Judgement, y'know. Make it like a Dragon Quest no?

i rate this 7/7 no but seriously i'm so hyped for this game and it is largely thanks to you leon since before watching your content on the game, everything was marred by the people doubting the new system. so thanks
1:11 is it just me, or are those Saejima's prison inmates from Yakuza 5? If so, that would be amazing to see them again, in the latest version of the Dragon Engine Edit: okay never mind, it seems like just a scene from when Ichiban was in prison, but anyways, Leon once again good job on the fanmade intro, honestly, I think Sega should just hire you as their Chief Marketing Officer, the way you promote Yakuza games in fucking unreal. Lowkey you're the main reason I got into the Yakuza series
I do wonder how Ichiban would fight and what his style is if it was like the original Yakuza games. From the cutscenes where we see him fight, he’s obviously a brawling beefcake like Kiryu but I imagine it’s sort of unrefined kinda like Shinada. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me.
Good! The only moment in original intro that I liked was that in beginning, when Ichiban goes free after prison in his baseball cap. Love you, devilleon, you da best. Thank you, you doing pretty much for RGG fandom in west.
This song is so good and the main character is a hero and his friends are Yakuza like a dragon is a good game and the Yakuza game is one of the good game series of all time

I never hard much of the Yakuza franchise, I guess I thought it's just a GTA clone and I don't like GTA I would not like it anyway. But because of memes and such I discovered it's more of a Beat'em Up game with a lot of RPG elements. I got Zero and YK1&2 all on steam on a sale, and started with zero. I must say, for a PS3 game the graphics holds up pretty well. I'm just curious, can someone explain to me why the faces of the main characters look so good? I dunno, but even stuff like GTA, RDR2, TLoU2 or that Death Stranding game with its face scans looks less realistic than the main cast of the Yakuza games. Not counting some random NPCs. I'm not a graphic whore or anything, but I'm just suprised how real those characters feel. Yakuza Like a Dragon seems to cary on with it's facial animations. I dunno, something just seems real when I look at those faces of those yakuza characters I haven't felt in videogame before.
I can't necessarily answer the WHY of why it is that huge publishers with hundreds of millions of dollars more than Sega don't look as good (lol) but the reason that the facial animations even in the older PS3 Yakuza games are so good is because there's a separate engine specifically for rendering cutscenes, so they can use different assets, lighting systems, etc etc. 0 also got a lot of retexturing work done for the PC release.
Before starting 7, I always like Ichiban due to his love of Dragon Quest. But after finishing this, it become very emotional and I can’t wait to see Ichiban’s journey for around 10 years.
