- Silencing a Honda gx 160 clone for a stealth bouncy castle, external baffles had been tried on the original exhaust however this heated the fuel tank, so a custom system was created using a fire blanked, wheelchair, a load of old oil filters and an old oil drum... total cost, some mig wire and a bit of gas!!
The bloke goes to the trouble of sharing his idea, and wankers want to shit can the welding and ask why wouldyou want to silence it. Clueless.

Fit small catalytic converter onto exhuast also if you need more silence, queiter intake system, also build an air cooler cover with sound deadener to surround outside of head fan fitted to pull air through

I bought a citroen C1 exhaust silencer for my generator. Not got it yet but those cars are very quiet so it should work well.

Cool idea, and what i was looking for but in that instance wouldn't an electric fan be better? Run it off a genny if need be but leave the genny far away?

Hi I have 4 stroke generator with exhaust close to alternator. If I put heat and sound insulation as a wrap around on the exhaust hopefully reducing exhaust heat and extension of exhaust from a quad. I have an enclosure just to have to seal like a subwoofer enclosure but I have an 8 in fan to pull cool air across exhaust and rocker cover side. Very noisy on rockers as well. Will hi temp fibreglass exhaust insulation become a heatsoak for alternator or will it keep temps down? Any reply appreciated cheers from Australia

it should do something, but the reason i used two muffs was what is good at deadening high frequency is not good atlow frequency so cars will generally have two muffs, one baffle and one glass pack, i was copying the traditional system, id like to try and combine them tho by making a baffle box, covering it in perforations and wrapping in glass
Turbo Conquering Mega Eagle your two small mufflers together definitely are the best for the job. I just want to run something I can get off the shelf. I might look into scooter and small motorcycle mufflers. Your results were quite impressive.
