You simplify choosing the right outfit & colors. Your suggestions on neutrals is perfect. No one wants to look like a package of M&M’s. (Which I have done)
This is a great checklist! I'm in the Midwest, where everyone wears jeans. I don't even *have* jeans, because a day dress or trousers are honestly so much more comfortable--just a pet peeve!
pro tip on the coat factor. Get a trench. You can get ones that are crazy expersive but also super cheap. They are good for climates that have cool but not freezing cold climates too.
Thank you that’s a great list!!! I’m 46 now and I decided not to buy jeans anymore…even if they are perfect for my body type they are just not comfortable! So I agree to tailored pants! They look more classy and are definitely more comfortable
I LOVE all your ideas, but, I have a style question for you? I'm in a very cold, snowy, sloppy, muddy climate. I basically go from parking lot to sidewalk to parking lot. This time of year, what is the correct boot style to wear with my outfit? I struggle, in particular, with choosing for cropped pants. ♥️🇨🇦
GREAT QUESTION Amanda! You must be reading my mind. I was JUST thinking "hmmm - that video is VERY California." SO, without knowing your personal style, I chose a few options (links below) that I'd personally wear in sloppy, slushy weather. I chose boots that are super cute, stylish - yet very comfortable & practical for slushy weather. They're all rubber soled / grippy because who wants a bite-sh*t moment. Remember that you can always swap-out the boots for shoes that match the occasion once at your destination (if you're going to a party, dinner, etc) For CROPS.... I'd go with a KNEE-HIGH boot, for sure. Aside from keeping you warm without exposed skin, they're just chic. I usually keep my boot in the same or similar color as my CROP, as it's lengthening. Here are links to stylish / weather resistant boots, to check out. Thank you for the question! xoxo - Shelli SLUSHY WEATHER BOOTS: 1. Ugg Chelsea Boot rstyle.me/+bFJ-a0jiXf4NJMvlVxcoUA 2. @@elaineowens9827 I like Anthropologie because they have petites. I also scour the OUTNET, Saks off fifth, Nordstrom rack - because you can find great high quality trousers / clothes on sale for a fraction of retail. That’s usually my MO 😌
Hi Marielee! Ok - to answer your questions: 1. Big Handbags are still in style, although you'll see a lot of medium sized bags as well. It's really about your preference. I like to have both, because when traveling - I want a large tote. However, I prefer a medium-sized bag for day-to-day. 2. Patent Leather: Since 90's era fashion is still trending - patent leather is still "In". And yes, it's totally fine to mix patent & regular leather - so if you have a patent bag and regular leather shoes, it's totally fine. 3. Lighter Colors if Overweight: As a general rule - dark colors recede and light colors advance. So Light-colored clothing WILL make the area it's covering look larger. That's why white jeans are SO HARD to wear. DARK colored clothing will diminish the appearance of whatever it’s covering, making it seem smaller and slimmer. IN SHORT: MORE FLATTERING. I hope this helps ;-)
Fabulous ideas. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it Angelica!💕

Are big handbags out of style, is patient leather out of style . If you are overweight can you wear light colors on your bottom

I don't agree with all of these suggestions some of them can make women look frumpy. Tweed and loafers, not glamorous!
It's all in how it's styled - and one's body shape (agree). If I wear loafers, it's with cropped pants for a cleaner, preppier day look.
