To Rubycored and everyone who commented, you’re the brother or sister I so wish I could have played games like this with. I’m so glad to know you’re out there. Been feeling lonely lately since I lost my friends.
Wow. Watching this brought me a memory id long forgotten. When I played this as a kid, sitting on a big pillow on my living room floor, feeling like I was one with the game. Unlike so many things in my life then, games like these at home, or even better at the arcade, felt like much-needed fun, escape, and therapy. Just listening to these familiar 8-bit sounds soothe my old soul.
I remember the smell of freshly cooked spaghetti. I was about to beat my high score. I hear my mom tell me again to stop 🛑 playing 1943 and come eat. Even after beating this game, I kept playing it daily. ❤️
The enemy’s general said, “Ok men, go kill that pesky fighter plane. Be sure to attack in a straight line, with the same repeating pattern, at the same altitude. We’ll crush him. Unless, of course, he can flip at will, he’s way faster than we are, appears to have an endless supply of weapons, and has a remote control with turbo repeat. Alright line up and lets go get that sob.”
Here's where I can make out who possibly did the re-scoring: Ogeretsu Kun (Takashi Tateishi) Manami Ietel (Manami Matsumae): sea battle boss theme (at 3:29) Perorin (Hiroshige Tonomura): sound effects (in particular the "item get" at 1:40) and the ending theme (at 1:18:46).
‘K’ means end of transmission. Adding an ‘N’ signifies no break-ins. Meaning that they only want hear back from whom they are calling. It’s strung together as ‘KN’. It’s known as a prosign. SK means ‘so long for now’.
I played this countless hours at Dairy Queen after elementary school was out!!! I beat this game at the Arcade level back in the days when this hadn't come out on NES!!! Imagine hitting them red buttons like this dude is but on a real level!!! 😏👍
One of the biggest douchebag moves in NES history happens at right around the 50:18 mark. Seriously I convinced I have beaten the damn game until that stinger happened
hi true bro now, since you have played this.... how do u start off, in stage 1 having the upgraded missiles? from the gameplay it shows u have to upgrade 1 special weapon, and upgrade 2 spec. weapons, with time limited.... that didnt work for me, i tried that
Seems to be using a rapid fire or burst trigger or something. There's no way to shoot that fast. I could never shoot that fast. You can tell when at times the guy is firing "regular" ammo. It comes out in bursts.
It can, but probably not on a real NES - if you play in on emulator with custom gamepad that has explicit Turbo functionality - you will see that it works differently than NES's Turbo mode on native gamepads - the difference actually comes from a frequency at which NES gamepad's signals are polled - they are capped at reasonably low amount of times per second (don't remember exactly, but something around 10-15), whereas emulator + pc gamepad will actually always yield 60 polls per second (as per set FPS). Thus the difference.
I was a kid when i played this game. Thanks for bringing memories back.

Anoyone else think it's weird this is a game made by Japan, in which you single handedly destroy Japan's entire air and naval force?
Yes lol
all from a single ship called USS Enterprise i guess
🤣
Ironic ! 🤣🤣🤣
ステータス上げる 画期的な要素が入って楽しめたよね。燃料タンク 武器残量も良い悩み所でした。

Man.... this brings back some memories.
Almost thought this game was made by Midway, but after looking closer I feel like an idiot.

In Morse code it says: CQ DE CAPCOM KN SK, which means calling all stations this is Capcom. Please transmit, end of transmission.
for 30 years ive wondered this. thank you.

Nostalgia
One of my favorites!
Realized I never got past the 1st level or don't remember any other theme
Still play in it till today
Man these games were the shit. Not too easy, not too hard. And none of that ridiculous futuristic crap. Good ole ww2. Simple, familiar, fun.
I think this game it's impossible to beat without a turbo controller.

This game's equivalent to:
"THIS ROOM IS AN ILLUSION AND IS A TRAP DEVISUT BY SATAN. GO AHEAD DAUNTLESSLY! MAKE RAPID PROGRES!"
@@ClassicTVMan1981X lol, it's quite funny since that game and this 1943 game are made by the same company.
I sure do love it when my Lockheed p38 can shoot 9 million bullets

How do you get 100% destructive rate on ayako? Is it time based?
