    Nice build and piloting... Only downside to me ever building this size is it would be to tempting for me to jump in and try to ride!

      He was shot down during chasing a British fighter at low altitude at the enemy artillery, he mistakenly did that instead of leaving the pursuit but he wasn't shot down by another fighter

    wow, a fabulous aircraft. I expected the prop would be too small for the size and weight of the aircraft, but it seems to fly fine with what it has.

    That's one giant Fokker dr1 triplane looks like a real one I saw it at wings and wheels north Weald airfield 2017 Sunday great very short takeoff and slow flying great landing

      Maybe make a 1/1 Fokker Dr1 with some carbon fiber and titanium and other advanced materiels to make it even lighter, other advancements in fabric covering and a modern rotary with a much higher power-to-weight ratio, and it might approach the performance of this model

    Brilliant!!! It would be fun to see two RC pilots put on a duel.
    Celebrated and associated with Von Richthofen, only 19 of his 80 kills were made in the Fokker Dr.I. The majority came while flying the Albatros C II. (He also scored kills in a Halberstadt D.II) His first red plane was the Albatros. The first Fokker's had engineering problems in the wings. He switched back to the Albatros till the Fokker showed better. Von Richthofen helped refine the Fokker (v. D. VII) but never flew it in combat being killed by either ground fire or during air combat.

    Amazing workmanship and piloting skills. I therefore believe the prop is exactly what the builder wanted -and it obviously performs very well- it just appears a little small in comparison to the rest of the plane. The little prop that could and did?

      whats a "double sided prop" mean keith ?

    • @keithmoriyama5421
      @keithmoriyama5421 Год назад

      @@tbobborap1 I was referring to a single prop with each end generating force-- like a kayak paddle as opposed a triple or quadruple blade.

    • @tbobborap1
      @tbobborap1  Год назад

      @@keithmoriyama5421 ahh i see keith. They are called a two bladed prop and the reason it doesent have more blades is because the engine cannot produce enough power to turn a three or four bladed prop efficiently. Therefore the two bladed prop is the best for the power output of this engine for dogfighting i guess 👍 hope this helps

    How can it even fly with such a small propeller. It barely clears the fuselage. Most of the power just hits the nose and would deflect sideways.

      @mikecschmitt89 6 лет назад +4

      thats a large over-estimation

    • @Nanotronik78
      @Nanotronik78 6 лет назад

      I think I have not overestimated it ... if we take into account that it moves approximately one meter before giving gas to the bottom and the route before taking off the wheels of the grass is approximately the length of the fuselage and maybe a little more gives result. that takes off in about 6 meters or so ... maybe even less ....
      I have analyzed the video, taken points of reference and calculated based on the two people that appear next to the plane giving them an average of 1.70m in height which gives me approximately that distance, and possibly I am wrong but for very little .. ... I even dare to say that between 5 and 6 meters! ;-)

    • @Nanotronik78
      @Nanotronik78 6 лет назад

      can be two people of 1.5m height only, or 1.80m, I do not know ... but if you let me really adjust the feeling is between 4m and 5m maximum ....
      Reviewing the video and especially the scene in low motion I have verified that effectively, it takes off in the almost exact distance of its own fuselage taking into account the exact point since it accelerates until it takes off the wheels, that is to say, it takes off in approximately 5 or 5 , 5m walk up foot down .... ;-D

    • @mikecschmitt89
      @mikecschmitt89 6 лет назад

      right, 2 to 3 meters. 3.1m maximum

    Gordon Bennet ! I thought there was a pilot in it at the beginning ! The take off and landing was nearly VTOL! It must be extremely light construction to do that . Did he do a spin towards the end ? I read of an American copy of the Red Barons aircraft. Where the pilot was warned not to attempt a spin , if he did do a spin it came out very easily .
