Yes it "can" corrupt your firmware! You also could get into the troubles that you will be unable to reset the phone back to the default settings, or your phone might just not want to boot at all. But best advice I can give you is staying away from Huawei as far as possible! Crap company, crap service and they slow your device down on purpose after 2 years so much, that it starts to feel like a Pentium 1 computer. They also make apps load much longer, Bluetooth often does not want to start as well as you GPS location settings and so on. The phones are cheap indeed, but they also become a pain in the ass to work with after a year of 2 or 3.

I have the same phone as you and I have andoird 10/Q You just need to clear all data from the "HI-Care" App (When there's a "Software Update" App then clear the data too) After this you need to set your region to China and again clear the data from the "Hi-Care" App (Software App).After that you just need to restart your phone and when's booted up you need to go to the Hi-Care App. The HI Care app asks if you wanna change to the China version of this app and u will agree this (Important:Dont turn on your location) After accepting the China version you just agree all but disagree your location when they asks it. Then you go in the HI care app to the heart in the down middle and then you press the Software Update Logo and request the update
