I really like the parking brake on the higher end Volvos and how you can just put your foot on the accelerator to disengage the parking brake, which is great when you're at lights. The 18t Globetrotter I drove for a while had one and when I figured it out I found it so much better.
Great video Luke and again Enjoyed. Loved the Cab tour and interesting Got a nice load at the end of your video. Enjoy your weekend Hopefully all goes well and the weather is good for you. Take care and Stay safe and safe Trucking.
Awesome video, awesome truck I personally would strap it all, remember the rule of thumb that it should be secured to stop 100% of the weight going forward and backwards, 50% to the sides and up. For the sake of ten mins securing its good piece of mind
Lovely trucks we have 5 on lease from kings heavy haulage very reliable pretty similar to ours even tho they’re 17 plates just better tech on the dash ect by the looks of it
Hi Luke, nice to see you again at Devon Truck Show, you were all so busy talking to other followers I didn't want to impose on you all for too long so maybe another time to say hello to Kevtee and Scott
I buddy I am glad you like the Volvo. They are all nice trucks at the end of the day. Weather looked to be nice for you. Just hope it is nice and hot for you down Devon for the truck show for you. Take care and have a awesome time at the truck show philip.
Really like the look of that new truck. A great piece of kit. Love these new Volvo trucks. Great to see the new truck and thanks for a good video. Take care and stay safe.
I swear by Volvo. I drive a FH4 540 tag axle, absolutely mega to drive and the spec is unreal, as your passenger seat is very basic, mine swivels reclines and folds. Mine is also a high cab so there’s roughly 10-12 inch more headroom above. On the whole though it’s Volvo or scania truck wise for me, wouldn’t bother with anything else, great video as always sir
If some poor soul was delivering in to Shipston Building Supplies, I hope they knew the HGV safe way in (via Darlingscote Road from the Fosse Way, and also to avoid exiting Shipston on that same Darlingscote Road (thus avoiding the Fosse Way - A429 - junction, which is a massively dangerous junction for cars to get out of, and near suicidal for trucks - instead you have to go towards the town centre on the Darlingscote Road, and turn left on to the Campden Road back to the Fosse Way, which gives you a lovely wide set of lights to join the Fosse Way safely.) Shipston town centre itself is a nightmare for trucks, way too tight.
Back in "commanche country" at Grange, Christchurch again! Come and say hello to me with my old Daf LF45 with the vintage tractors on at Devon Truck Show this weekend! Kettle can be made to be on if you`re in need of liquid refreshment!
Luke, fantastic walk around inside the cab, but what about checking the fluids, do you have to lift the cab?, is there a front panel you need to pull out... Etc....
That’s the regular globetrotter. I’m 6ft3 and drive a 2016 globetrotter xl, plenty of space above me stood up. The sunroof glass doesn’t half make a mess if shattered by a low branch of something.
You’d think Volvo would have sorted out the pull out drawer catching on the gear selector. From tomorrow I’m using a 72 plate FH so we’ll see if it beats my old 22 plate Scania 540S. It’ll be a big ask.
Both you and Jenko on my patch this week (Sussex Coast) and didn’t see either of you. The joys of loading timber at Shoreham Port, did it many a time during the pandemic. Loading at 3 gates for 3 or 4 drops is the most fun, not!
As you had completed strapping the timber load, I just hope it was within weight limits. Otherwise lots of time wasted sorting it out again. Thanks for the cab tour and wow how you modern truckers are spoilt, I drove an old ERF 7 tonner flatbed for a construction company. It did have the optional extra of a cab heater and I fitted a cruise control, a piece of timber jammed between the pedal and under the dash. One kick and it canceled and then back to counting lamp post to get the revs right for a crash gearbox change. My trips were from S. London to Beachley nr. Chepstow, the M4 only ran a short way out of London and another section from Caln and over the first Severn Bridge. The bit through Witney was narrow and hilly, so it took most of the day, also getting through the arch in Chepstow was done at an angle. High loads had to go via Glos. and the Forest of Dean. Oh the good old days!!!!!!!!!! But you lads deserve the improvements and I thank you all for getting the goods through. Enjoy the show and thanks for posting.
The joy of a new toy. Can have a romantic night for one, looking up to the stars at night through that roof glass.. Might eventually get full of bird crap. No truck wash I know of do the roof
The company I work for mostly have Volvo and Scania. They still have some 6-Series G480 and G490 but the newer Scania trucks are all R580s. The Volvos are either FH540 or FH460 LNG (all are 4th gen). Don't fancy the LNGs, though, since it's quite complicated to refuel them and the station we refuel at is at another company's goods terminal, 10km away from our terminal. However, when we refuel diesel, we go to CircleK Truck diesel down the street.
Great vlog again Luke, the Volvo looks a brilliant truck to be in throughout the day. 1 question for you mate, what clock screen do you use on your Apple Watch?
Like the truck Luke. I've not seen all of the video, but is there any cool boxes for food? Anyway, regarding the Satnav. I've just bought myself a new Ford Focus, and for the first time, I've got a satnav. Like you, the first thing I do before anything else, look for the volume and switch it off🤣. And I love the colour. Just come to the bit where you show us the fridge🤣🤣
Another excellent video Luke, truck looks ace, love the colour and looks, mind you I am biased I past my Class 1 on a Volvo FL many moons ago! And have loved Volvos ever since ! Keep up the good work and keep safe! 😀🚛
I’m wanting to become a class 2 HGV driver but one question I need to ask is as a HGV driver do you suffer from back aches on long drives I’ve just drove down to Cornwall which toke 4hrs and 20minutes from Hayward’s heath and I got an achy back do you get them.
I get back ache in both my cars but not so much in a lorry as the seat has far more adjustment. But I'm class 2 so dont do to many long drives as im multi drop.
Hey lucke c if you see Lena troker tell Lena troker l miss her videos l hope you are going to join Lena trucker at her own business as you really know Lena trucker take care lucke c keep your self safe and drive careful your videos are really helpful hope you will bring more video's out with Lena trucker
@@shinzuel1466 you're not wrong. I worked at a company and you would get in trouble for stepping onto the tail lift if it was about a 6 inches off the ground lol they'd say it needs to be all the way down.

Most curtain siders should be considered as a flat bed when loading, the curtains aren’t reinforced or designed to be load bearing. There are a few that are but not many companies invest in them.
It’s a shame your not bringing that FH with you, I’ll probably see you Saturday if I can find you, I’m bringing my Nephew (He’s a car fan, but we will let him off that because he’s only 8 😅)
nice rig... does it drive better than those Daffy's your lot have and is it better on the old fuel? if so hope they get you one... although bet you'd prefer Jenko's Edition 1😂

Got a little excited thinking it was you driving this on A419 North this afternoon pulling a loaded flat bed. Proper nice unit in the flesh 😍
It’s the base model. The xl is higher. Mine has a captains seat in the passenger side. The bed lifts up at one end.
Nice one 👍🏻
That pheasant was so tame. Wanted you to take it home for dinner. The sunroof almost makes all the negatives worth it.

The new volvo is really nice. Have one at work. Have drive it a few times
Yay volvo, been interested to see inside one as our company runs them but i'm a lowly van driver for now ahah
I love Volvos too. My mate designs them so I am going to share this video with him.
Hi Luke which is the most up to date truckers book. Thanks

Is the headboard on the trailer high enough for those loads of wood?
You could have a load higher than the truck. No headboard.
Enjoyed the video chap.. excellent

Make the most of it your new Iveco will arrive soon 😬 I’m not a fan of the Volvo, would rather have a Scania if the choice was there.
I don’t think I’m getting one mate. Will probably go to other drivers
