    This makes Alteration feel very wizardy, like you've got a spell for every occasion and incredible control over the battlefield. The default spells seem more limited like a dnd sorcerer.

      I like that comparison. Your wizards gets to specialize, vs the sorcerer who's abilities are limited by more innate. If you also use Ordinator perks, you can unlock alteration perks which will remove your magica and instead, give your character X number of spells per long rest (more like D&D :))

      Yeppers, my bad. Although dancing around chasing fireballs was a fun tangent :) I'll make a note of that if I dive into Apocalypse again, maybe do a video of "clarifications" (to account for where I messed up). We shall see. Thanks for your insights :)

    Wither reduces attack damage 5% for every second for twenty seconds making them attack for nothing near the end of the spell's duration no matter how strong an opponent it is since it is percentage based. Cheap mana cost makes this something you can keep active with big results especially against bosses. Visiting the alteration wild shrine will improve the utility of all your alteration spells.
    Wild shrines' icons on the radar are the same as Gjukar's Monument or Ruins of Bthalft. It's one of those inverted triangle thingies. One you get within distance, they'll pop up in your mini map like any other dungeons/areas.
    Alteration - West of Windhelm near Uttering Hills Cave
    Conjuration - Just north of Morthal
    Destruction - West of Falkreath, near Halldir's Cairn
    Illusion - Near Blizzard's Rest which in itself north of Whiterun.
    Restoration - South of Serpent's Bluff Redoubt which is west of Rorikstead. Or you can just follow the road from Falkreath to Markarth. It's near Gloomreach.

      Me too :) I'd never really looked at the "earth magic" themed spells in Apocalypse before. Now I'm looking into a "Toph" build, inspired by "Avatar the Last Airbender". How can you say now to summoning spikes of earth from the ground? Hehehe.

      @@juanchiapa2882 Right?! The Ravagor in particular creeps me out. It's like a fleshless, deer shaped carnivore. And that growl when it's close ... it's like the creature is considering your utility as a side-dish, rather than an ally. Super creepy and fun :)

      Right? Whenever I just load a mod and run within it (especially a spell mod), I end up only using a handful of the spells. Whichever ones best suite my playstyle. These kinds of videos give me a much clearer view of all the options a spell mod brings to the table. Great fun :)

    Here's my tanky mage build with the mods "immersive armors" and "left hand rings".
    I generally use no weapons or destruction magic, except lightning bolt for those pesky dragons.
    hood
    armored circlet
    body
    hands
    feet
    shield
    all those give you heavy armor protection and then there's
    necklace
    right ring
    left ring
    earrings
    eyepatch
    mask
    cape
    collar
    14 enchantable items.. so that's 28 enchantments with the Ordinator mod's perk at lvl 80 enchanting
    1. magic resistance on everything I can
    2. magic regeneration (need a lot of this for concentration spells such as evil twin) Magic regen reduces your need for a large pool of magica, allowing more stat points into health. The only reason (other than casting master level spells) that you would want a huge magica pool is if you are going for multiple conjured entities which are uncapped according to the size of your mana pool.
    All the other enchantments where there's room:
    heavy armor (you're a TANKY mage)
    health regen (some noticeable health regen makes life so much easier all around)
    magica (boosting your magica pool through enchantments allows you to put more stat points into health since you are a tank)
    stamina regen (increases frequency of power bashing, allows you to cast something other than heal) Probably better to use potions and save your enchantments for health regen but hey, experiment.
    waterbreathing (you can keep this little guy stored on an auxiliary weightless eyepatch, only requiring one petty soulgem to be fully functional)
    muffle (no need to waste perk points on sneak if you have muffle enchanted boots and some decent sneaking skill. Tanks don't really need to sneak too much anyway)
    while maxing heavy armor and block skills. This makes you pretty much impervious to all forms of damage except the dreaded dragon jaw clamp-and-shake ! Has anyone ever survived it ??
    The shield.. you can power bash with it and, using Ordinator mod's spellscribe, you can load it up with any kind of targeted spell so your shield is a powerful defensive AND offensive warpiece, plus your right hand is always free to cast. Better protection, more offensive flexibility.
    Learn the restoration perk "respite" and you will enjoy abundant stamina for abundant powerbashing pleasure. Of course there are some offensive spells which absorb stamina. You can enchant restore stamina and.. you can drink stamina regen potions so there are a lot of ways to keep your power bashing going non-stop. And remember, every time you activate spellscribe in combat it increases your enchant skill a little bit.
    This build is designed to focus perk points on as few schools as necessary. Block and heavy armor, enchanting, restoration and alteration will get you by comfortably for a total of five skill lines. Restoration and alteration both have strong offensive spells especially at higher levels. Don't overlook the powerful "wither" spell early on.
    Illusion among other things will boost your followers and conjured allies' abilities.
    Including illusion that would be four magic schools for a total of six disciplines. Seven if using conjuration which is loads of fun also..

    Gonna use teleport anchors in beyond Skyrim. Being able to travel to major nations in a fly.

      Oooooh, adding in Beyond Skyrim is totally going on my list! Milestones is perfect for that. Did you have to make a plugin or add in a lot of patches for Beyond Skyrim? The largest mod I've added in so far was Skyrim Underground, (basically a chain of dungeons beneath Skyrim). I'll really looking forward to adding in more lands though, down the line. I need more room to explore :)

      You're welcome! The alteration spells make the game sooooo much more player friendly, especially when you can store / conjure whatever item you need. It really rewards you for reaching the higher levels of the Alteration school :)

    Hethoth’s Grimore doesn't fire randomly. If you watch it always fires where you are facing. You were just running in a circle.

      @@MightyOtterr Thanks for the support and the insight into these spells. I appreciate the help and the extra information! I do my best, but some things do slip through the cracks. I noticed one of the destruction spells, the one hurling magma, worked on a similar principle. Aim high and the spell spread farther ahead. I will have to give Perilous Paths another try later, because it sounds so much more useful when it extends a greater distance like that. Thanks :)

      Hahaha, why thank you! Gotta say, after seeing all the 'earth' themed apocalypse spells, I'm tempted to try a Earthbender playthrough. It would be inspired by Toph (from Avatar, the Last Airbender). Entombing an enemy in earth is an awesome feeling :)

    Massively fun combo with acceleration rune is to cast your rune in ideal location (mountain top perhaps) and then cast ghostwalk at rune location and then find your enemy and cast shadowbond. This will break ghostwalk returning you to initial position of ghostwalk casting at rune. Once again cast ghostwalk. This will not break the shadowbond. Then cast any other spell or just do any action to break your invisibility and thus swapping places with enemy and activating the rune.

    Fun fact, Hethioth's Grimoire shoots where you aim, not randomly, so if you just look at one spot, it will spam that spot. I havent tested it with too many spells, but I wonder how it will go with the kind of spells that generate out from the spellcaster like firestorm, or generate a big field of aoe damage. if it can spam these, then that is just stupidly OP

    With spell twine you can assign the 50% of alt skill heal effect to your novice concentration heal. Every time you start the concentration you gain the heal effect so.. don't hold down the button to concentrate with your heal spell instead just spam it, slowly enough for the spell to activate. It will heal you a lost faster than concentrating the novice heal.
    Assigning the feather effect to the longstride spell will really give you some extra carrying capacity.

    I can see that wall being super useful if you get too far ahead of your allies in a dungeon, just throw a wall up to hold off enemies til your reinforcements can catch up.
    Also, for an archery build that perilous paths spell would synergize very well with tripwires and bear traps. Set up an obstscle course between you and your foes to keep them at bay while you send volleys of arrows downrange
    Side note: this video inspired an evil plot my current character is working towards completing. I downloading the working locks mod and plan to entomb Nazeem and lock him in the cage in bloodchill manor forevermore.

      Ooooh, those videos are coming. About blew my mind when I tried a 450 mod collection on vortex for fallout 4. I've been playing it all week with only minor issues. Took me a few hours to download and set it up. Beautiful. I haven't tried a modpack yet, but it's on my list. I need to finish recording some halloween mod videos before I do a skyrim se modpack. They tend to fry your current skyrim game folder. :)

    I used milestone and put in the the the ragged flagon so I didn't have to go through all the doors. I also used tharns prison and just used flames on the person inside

      That is a wonderful use for Milestone. I hate running through all those doors for the thief's guild. The College of Winterhold can be similarly annoying, if you make the Archmage's Quarters your player home. It's great to see all these unique uses for Apocalypse spells for different playthroughs :)

    Im using the spell Banish Living, to SEND all of Ulfrics forces and the Silver Hand.. to Various Daedric Realms including Coldharbor and Hircine's Hunting Grounds XD. Using Apocalypse Magic, along with Sacrosanct and Ordinator, i now have a Vampire Blood Mage that just Thanos snap anyone that she comes across.

    Alteration and Conjuration would be a very fun combination. 😁 Though, I do like the concept of situational powers in Alteration used in Apocalypse. I rather have one spell that does what I need than multiple spells that do more or less the same thing.
    For example, once you get Dragonhide, there is no point of using Oakflesh and Stoneflesh.
    It seems like the concepts of situational magic were the intent of Vanilla Skyrim's destruction magic but due to the resistances of frost of Nords which is crippling to a mage as most Nords are warriors, didn't go that well in execution. The magic system itself needs to be refined.

      For sure. Ordinator does toss in some ability to bypass frost resistance in your target, but it takes a while to level up to that point.

    Question: can you use Hethoth's Grimoire with conjuratuon spells to conjure a crap ton of atronachs? I don't think it would work, but if it does....

      @@tuffin698 According to the spell description: "Creates a hovering spell tome of the (projectile, non-concentration) spell in your left hand.".
      This means it's design for projectile spells which don't require concentration. Pretty sure that applies to any spell with a "shot" element, it that is uses a projectile to deliver the effect to the target. So, a restoration based poison spell could work just as well as firebolt, since both could be projectile based. I believe that rules out conjuration type spells though... Some of the master level spells might work, if they are projectile-based.

    About the 5 teleport spots.. i assume it will get destroyed upon cell resets? Lets say i have a teleport spot in Whiterun watchtower, will it still be there if i haven't visited the cell for 30+ days? Or will it get destroyed?

      I'm 90% certain they will remain when the cell resets, since that's how the spell is described on the mod page, but I haven't tried it out myself.

    Since prepare your adventure is so cheap costing I always use it to get the staff I want and have no problems fighting enemies even on legendary difficulty with the staffs

      Nice! I'd combine that with Ordinator's perk tree for enchanting to boost your abilities while wielding a staff. That's epic.

    I was able to purchase deep storage at lvl 72 alteration. I'm wondering if the character level or the number of perks in alteration makes any difference?

      I believe it's based purely on your alteration skill level.

    Stupid question, where do you get these spells? I’m a level 8 mage and have only checked with Farengar in Whiterun so far.

      They should automatically go into the leveled lists of various mentors / bad guys throughout skyrim. So, at level 8, the novice and apprentice level spells should be showing up in Farengar's inventory. Every hold's court wizard and obviously the college of winterhold are great places to shop.

      I went to the college of Winterhold. I got Ocato’s revenge and I’ll keep an eye out for more.
      I’m still at the point where 300 gold is s as lot. I’m playing without doing any loops or exploits, so things go at a slowe pace.

      I believe what you're referring to is the mod "Sky UI", which I believe only works on PC because it requires additional files to be loaded outside the main game file.

    this is not bad but the potential alteration has is still not reached, like alteration is about bending reality, not earth.

      I guess I sorta thought that would be illusion, but there's something to be said for this I think. Illusion magic is bending your targets PERCEPTION of reality, whereas alteration really should be bending tangible reality. I suppose I'm unsure how those kinds of spells would manifest in Skyrim, since the majority of spells are combat or utility. Maybe something like transmute mineral ore; but for your weapon? You could upgrade it maybe, if not change it to an entirely different weapon

    I'm thinking it's because I have the Ultimate Combat Mod, but I actually can't use the concentration spell "Strength of the Earth" without it being canceled by me blocking. I think it's the block cancel future the combat mod has. Might conflic with that kind of concentration spell. Anyone else experience this?

      I've been working on a destruction caster that uses a shield. I think I've had a similar issue. Gotta keep my distance if I want to safely maintain a concentration spell, since blocking interrupts it. Check the MCM settings though, it might be a feature you can disable?

      @@Sethiroth_Gaming It's a possibility. I'll look into it next time I boot it up (which will probably be tomorrow, honestly). Thanks for the comment back! Otherwise I'd be willing to start another game with a different combat mod or no combat mod just in case it messes with other concentration spells.

      @@bushidopirate Hmmm... Have you tried Wildcat or Similodon? I've used those for my mage characters and don't remember having an issue with concentration (granted I wasn't blocking much at the time). I looked over their mod descriptions and I don't see anything specifically about loosing concentration (unless staggered, obviously). Maybe try one of those?

      Ocato's Recital can only auto-cast spells which require one hand to cast, and are self-targeting. That's it.

    If it’s a private or in-joke, I apologize. But your pronunciation of Shakalaka makes my ass itch 😂 I know it’s a made up word, but phonetically it’s SHAH-kuh-lah-kuh, not shu-KAL-ih-cuh. Again, If it’s purposefully, I apologize but I needed to purge the poison lol
