I watched this video since 2009. Now it's 2014 and it's predictions is on the right path. I will watch this video, assuming it would still be here, in 2020.
It's January 2020 (last comment in 2017), and everything said so far is quite accurate*. Thanks, Monty Metzger! *except 2014, 2015 nanotech enabling physical transformation, 2016 NY Times and other news corp offering epaper readers, reading news on plastic paper (we have smartphones), 2017 climax of the mobile economy boom, and 2018 8 billion people worldwide.
as the old adage goes, "With great Power comes great Responsibility". And with the majority of the population having this power, and the majority of them lacking responsibility, we better start educating now to avoid of all of us to suffer for the bad. Such technology gives society a potential for exponential growth for the good or bad. I believe the thought leaders behind MOCOM2020 are helping our minds evolve in the right direction. We should spread the word (minus the killing of hackers) lol
When i see all these future predications I like to pop out one of my fav quotes, "The fact that you can visualize a future in your imagination is not evidence that it is likely or even possible. Look at domed cities, jet-pack commuting, underwater cities, mile-high buildings, and nuclear-powered automobiles - all staples of futuristic fantasies when I was a child that have never arrived. Sheer processing power is not a pixie dust that magically solves all your problems."
Thats amazing! I'll be 26 in 2020 and thats only a small quarter of my lfe! MY brain can not come up with an idea of how 2050 will be when i am 56 years old! Man, i am very gald i am born into this new century, the start of new history!! :D
Meanwhile depression increases, suicide-rates continue rising, medical companies that produce sleeping pills and antidepressants flourishes. And not a single person saw that the answer and path to something so basic as happiness was all in regression to our primal roots - not the moving away from them.
the years are just guesses, but all of the technology is already under development we may not have all of this by 2020, but what we can look at is our current rate of progress. unless there is a major globally devastating event that significantly hinders the development of technology, all of these technologies should be available to at least the middle class by 2020
Well i didn't mean some touch screen phone or laptop or anything like that. I mean that maybe in 2014 or some time there's "e-paper" newspapers but some peoples still use paper, because peoples always do something old ..like shoot with wooden bow or walk when they could drive :D and some use landline phone, even if they have cellphone.
me too... and i'm just extra fine with the technology that is around me right now i mean what you need besides a fridge a microwave a PC and 4 walls...
new digital display technologies have seemingly limitless potential, but i don't see it being practical to have anything closer than a pair of sunglasses whatever we have, we want to be able to easily remove it when we need to clearly see what is in front of us
accuracy is never guaranteed, but we can always make some determination of probability based on known variables i may be wrong if i postulate that Bolivia will not be a global economic superpower by 2014, but there is a pretty good chance i would be right
@theyellowairplane Just like how most of us forgot how to use the spear once we invented the bow and arrow, and then forgot how to use to the bow and arrow once we invented the gun? Technology has always expanded on itself since we first began to learn to use rocks and fire. Old technology is just a forgotten art, while the masses become accustomed to newer technologies. This will always be the case as long as humans are alive.
@shrikedog i agree, besides didn't google just make a phone with nfc built into it' can't you buy macca's with it haha he said that it won't be out until atleast 2015
@ cutespiepie772 I find it funny when people complain about there being no flying cars, while ignoring the real and more significant progress we've made. Like cell phones and the internet.
I guess that electonic newspapers where's little computer and battery inside somewhere will be sold after 5 years but peoples still read normal newspapers in year 2050 at least those peoples who have already born now. if somebody haven't used to read news from real paper what can't get updates etc.. he/she will of course use electronic paper, laptop or phone

Someday our grand kids are going to ask us what the information age was like and how it started. We are living in a revolution. Pretty cool.

Really intersting look @ the future of mobile engagement
Everyone uses mobile phones here in Argentina but very few have a real good internet access, if prices don't drop, even in 2020 we'll be the same
So this was uploaded in 2009? He pretty much nailed it! :)
they don't mention anything about virtual/augmented reality ...
I believe! Do you believe? Don't limit your mind when it comes to technology and man's ability to make them a reality!
Meanwhile depression increases, suicide-rates continue rising, medical companies that produce sleeping pills and antidepressants flourishes. And not a single person saw that the answer and path to something so basic as happiness was all in regression to our primal roots - not the moving away from them.
Incredibly based. We should've listened

@cutesiepie722 If you read the title , it speaks of mobile media and communication , not about cars , guns or nanosuits or what ever =)

Hello from 2017
*I HAVE ARRIVED FROM THE PAST*

This video made me think...hard,
@theyellowairplane Just like how most of us forgot how to use the spear once we invented the bow and arrow, and then forgot how to use to the bow and arrow once we invented the gun? Technology has always expanded on itself since we first began to learn to use rocks and fire. Old technology is just a forgotten art, while the masses become accustomed to newer technologies. @codename2194 if u don't know, every programmer is a hacker, not every hacker is bad so don't kill every hacker
whts cybernetics ?
@shrikedog i agree, besides didn't google just make a phone with nfc built into it' can't you buy macca's with it haha he said that it won't be out until atleast 2015
I'll be 38.
Happy almost 38th birthday!! -From a time traveler
00:07 But what if I imagine a technology to enhance what I can imagine?
all these wonderful advancements will be so much better if we abolish capitalism in the process
Technology is an amazing thing...unfortunately, most technological inventing is established with thoughts of war as opposed to thoughts of peace.
Happy 2017!!!!
@cutesiepie722 they have already made on like almost a year ago they showed it on the news but its not avalible to the public only a few were made

How they knew everything
They missed the part where innovation became as sporadic as what people hoped the future would be.
@xDontFaintx augmented reality would benefit them.
